I have dedicated my career to helping children and young adults prepare for their future by teaching them in an

Teaching
Teacher, Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS)
Frederick, MD 2007 to present
My school based leadership positions have been Team Leader, PBIS, SIT, STEM leader, and Leadership
committee. I am also an active volunteer in our building from organizing ski trips, running our Science
Olympiad team, to running our annual talent show. I developed our school wide Advisory program and also
lead professional developments for the entire staff on de-escalating students in stressful situations.
Teacher, Green Acres School (GAS)
Rockville, MD 2005 to 2007
I taught 7/8th grade science at Green Acres. My responsibilities ranged from playground and lunch duties,
to organizing/leading field trips and curriculum development. I was the assistant athletic director and
coached the 5/6 soccer and basketball team. I helped to develop the mentoring program and worked for
two
years in their summer program working with children between the ages of 4-13.
Teacher, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Rockville, MD 2004 to 2005
I taught Earth and Space Science, which encompassed students from every grade level in the high school.
This class was composed mostly of “at risk” students, who needed a science credit to graduate. My class
was considered a “dumping ground” for failing students. My goal was to educate and mentor these students,
and give them the ability to believe in their own unique abilities. My students understood that I cared for
them and have exceeded the expectations of everyone in the building except for myself. I also taught a
course called Connections, which was a middle school-to high school transition class, which helped these
new students handle the stresses and pressures of their new environment. I also helped out the school by
covering Environmental Science when another teacher had to
take sick leave for a month, giving up my prep time in order to benefit the students. I also co-taught
Biology with a special educator, learning much about emotional disorders, while collaborating with another
teacher simultaneously in the classroom. I also tutored for Montgomery County, helping 2-5th grade students
with Math and English.
Teacher, Roncalli High School
Manitowoc, WI 2003 to 2004
During my tenure, I taught Biology and Environmental Science. Environmental Science was composed of
mainly “at
risk” students, while Biology had students with a wide range of abilities. My primary duty as an educator
was to build
3. and maintain a constructive relationship both with the students and parents so as to ensure the promotion
of quality
education. My time was also divided amongst various service opportunities including coaching JV volleyball
and
Varsity Baseball. Additional responsibilities included: monitoring weight room, serving lunch, chaperoning
and
leading field trips, curriculum planning, and recruitment. I also painted the gymnasium over the summer in
order to
help the school meet budgetary problems while improving our overall school appearance.
