Essay On English Teacher
1. My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and
involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they
go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead
something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better
equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly
anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That
being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content...
The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the
most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for
the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is
not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge
not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an
energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like
an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or
her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only
to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a
particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

2. Essay on English Language Learner
Schools in the United States of America (USA) are facing many challenges, because of the
increasing numbers of the English Language Learner (ELL) students. School administrators are
trying hard to provide an equal opportunity education to their students. Furthermore, educators are
looking forward in providing several methods and technique to help their students to succeed in their
academic learning skills. There are many factors that need to focus on and it can be the fundamental
when trying to build powerful resolutions, such as parents and community resources, social
influences, native language, etc.
ELL Families and Schools
Teaching is a call, where teachers need to have an understanding about each individual student's

By allowing the ELL students to use their native and their second language in reading, and writing it
will make them move along this new process. Reading and writing experience should be context
related and meaningful in order for them to be effective in their learning, even though, they can
transfer the literacy skills that they have obtained in their native language towards their second
language while they are exposed to more learning experiences.
Many challenges are faced by the ELL students and their families by being in a new environment,
such as a new language, school, food, beliefs, life style, etc., where they feel that they need to deviate
from their home language and their culture, absolutely not, they need to be conceited, revered,
treasured. In this matter, our role as educators is to be prepared to work effectively with families
(Katz & Bauch, n.d., p. 189), in providing the effective support, and assistant with the full
understanding of the new changes in their new environments. On the other hand, social cultural
pressure could be increased if students do not have another native individual to relate to; students
need to have a teacher who will assist and guide them in learning new a language; without allowing
them to lose their cultural identity.
Fund of Knowledge for Teaching (FKT) created for teachers, anthropologists, and teacher educators
to gain more knowledge about their students' community experiences, and curricula

3. My English Teacher
As a teacher one must find their inspirations. Personally, my inspiration came from a previous
teacher that I once had. I grew up always loving my English classes. It was simple to me. I
understood where a comma went, how use a metaphor correctly, and enjoyed writing papers. English
became my safe haven, but it wasn't until I had my English teacher in high school that I realized that
I wanted to teach it. My English teacher was truly one of a kind. She went above and beyond the
expectations that the school set out for her to accomplish. She genuinely cared about her students
and made sure that each and every student knew that. I want to be that kind of teacher, the kind that
shows their students compassion while also helping them succeed...show more content...
In the classroom I plan to use diversity to my advantage. For example, in English it will be hard to
ignore diversity in literature. When you are reading a text and trying to comprehend the material
you almost have to understand the culture, religion, and sometimes ethnicity to get all the
information that the author wants to relay. Also, in the classroom as a teacher, I need to
understand my students culture, religions, and ethnicity, and from there adapt my teaching
methods to fit those specific students needs. As a teacher I need to chose materials that will be
bale to relate to my students. If I am teaching at a school in downtown Memphis I probably chose
to use a text that relates to poverty or Martin Luther King Jr. The reason I would use one of those
topics is because the students will be able to relate to the topic. The students will have some
knowledge of these topics therefore they may be more interested in the topic because they
understand it better then something about the royal family. Being a teacher, you have to be able to
use your students diversities and use it in the classroom without offending any of the students. When
teaching about poverty to poverty stricken students I will have to keep in mind my students feelings.
I wouldn't go into the classroom and start teaching about how poverty is bad and you need to do
something with your life. Instead I might find a text that covers a poverty stricken person that turns
