RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Ensuring quality standards as per ASME manual, ISO 9000-2008 quality manual are met by the department.
 Inspection of fabrication & welding of Carbon steel, Low Alloy steel, Stainless steel, Inconel, duplex tubes, plates, pipes and
forgings. (Thickness Min 1.63mm to Max 235mm).
 Inspection of welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, SAW, ESSC, FCAW etc.
 Co-ordination with shops for the inspection coverage of the third party inspection agencies / customer representatives.
 Analysis of Non-conformity reports and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. (Use of system i.e. PLM for
flow of NCR)
 Preparation of Quality Control plan, testing procedures i.e., Hydro test, Pneumatic test, Visual test, PMI/chemical Analysis,
Ferrite test etc. as per customer specification/ codes.
 Inspection of weld edge preparation / fit ups as per approved drawings and codes.
 Verifying correctness of consumables and proper baking / storage.
 Ensuring proper preheating and monitoring welding parameters during welding as per approved WPS.
 Visual, dimensional inspection after completion of welding as per code/ specification.
 Verifying heat treatment procedures, witnessing heat treatment arrangement and reviewing heat treatment charts of
equipment as per HTR/code.
 Inspection of surface preparation and coating of finished equipment i.e. pickling and passivation, shot blasting and
painting.
 Witnessing hydro test/ Pneumatic Test as per hydro/pneumatic test procedure and code.
 Ensuring thickness, hardness, ferrite, material chemical composition through use of instruments.
 Updating seam wise and part wise clearance of equipment in system i.e. Baan.
 Dealing with third party / customer inspection agencies for the clearance of inspection stages as per Quality Control Plan.
 Preparation and submissionof quality control documents to customer after signing off TPI release note as per customer
requirements.
 Preparation of other inspection documents and submission to Quality Assurance for retention purpose.
 Dealing with third party inspection agencies like BV, TUV, Lloyds Registrar, Velosi etc. and Process licensors like FLOUR etc.
 Preparing & getting approved Indian Boiler Regulation Form-II, III ,IIIA & IVA for IBR equipment.
