This document provides instructions for polishing hard floor surfaces. 3. Floor Polisher with Polishing or
scrubbing pad
• To be used in
scrubbing, stripping
and polishing hard
floor surface and
also vinyl, wood
parquet, etc.

4. Polishing Pad
• A medium grade
pad designed to
work polish to
remove moderate
surface defects.

5. STEEL WOOL
• Is made from low carbon steel
in process similar to broaching,
where a heavy steel wire is
pulled through a toothed die
that remove thin, sharp, wire
shaving.
WAX MOP
• Is a mass or bundle of coarse strings or
yarn, etc. or a piece of cloth, sponge,
or other materials, attached to a pole
or stick.
• It is used to soak up liquid, for cleaning
floor and other surfaces, to mop up
dust, or for other cleaning purposes.

6. SOFT BROOM AND
DUSTPAN
• Soft broom- is for fine
and flat surface like
vinyl and wood.
• Dustpan- a flat handle
receptacle into which
dust and waste can be
swept from the floor.

8. Caution Sign
• Warning sign to
alert people that the
floor is wet and
slippery and they
should not step on
it. It is a tool for the
prevention of slips
and injuries.

9. STEPS
1. Install a caution sign to
prevent slips and
accidents arising from wet
and slippers floor.
2. Dip or dry-clean the
floor to remove scratches
and dirt that have
penetrated the floors.
3. Damp Mop when the
floor is a little bit wet so
that dirt, dust and loose
soil can be easily
absorbed.
PROCEDURES
 The sign must be labelled:
“Caution, Wet Floor”
Place it in such a way that It
can be seen.
Roll steel wool on the
polishing pad. Insert or
attach to the brush.

4. Apply wax to the floor.
Let it dry before
polishing to get better
results.
5. Polish the area evenly
to make it more shiny
and presentable.

up the remaining dirt
and dust that has

PROCEDURES
• Pour wax directly to the
mop and start applying
evenly to the floor. Allow
the wax to dry for about
10-15 mins.
• Preferably use a polishing
pad. If the wax on the floor
surface is very thick, the
floor should be wet-
scrubbed.
• Use the soft broom and
dustpan moving from one
corner to the other.
