A film production company is responsible for raising funding for a film production through partners or private investors. It handles budgeting, scheduling, scripting, staff organization, production, post-production, marketing, and distribution. A film distributor then distributes the completed movie to cinemas, DVD/Blu-Ray, or streaming/download sites like Netflix. Revolver Entertainment would be a good distributor for the crime thriller "Deadline" due to their experience distributing similar low-budget British films. Ingenious Investments would also be suitable to fund "Deadline" since they have experience investing in British television and films.

2. WHAT DOES A PRODUCTION COMPANY DO?
A film production company is directly responsible for
raising funding for the production or may accomplish
this through an emissary. The production company can
be either a small company or a larger one, selling its
products to a film studio or presenting it at a theatrical
venue, or, in the case of film and television, it may be
the studio itself. Examples of famous film production
companies are; DreamWorks, 20th Century Fox and
Paramount Pictures. However there are a lot more film
production companies that exist.
3. WHAT DOES A FILM DISTRIBUTOR DO?
The production company is responsible for
funding the production to be made through
partner, or private investor. It handles
budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the organization of
staff, the production, the post-production, the
marketing and the distribution. The film distributor
distributes movies to different cinemas publicly or
for home viewing on DVD, Blu Ray or to different
downloading sites or networks like iTunes or Netflix.
4. OUR COMPANY LOGO
For our company logo. We chose to simply write the name of our company
‘Skyline’ in a stylish blue font against a plain black background as it is formal
and blue has connotations of the sky. We chose to do the same for ‘Shutter
Productions’, however, we used sharp, block, white font against a slightly
dark, faded yellow background as it is different but equally professional.
5. OUR CHOSEN DISTRIBUTOR
A film distributor that I think would most likely distribute
our crime-thriller genre film, ‘Deadline’, is Revolver
Entertainment. Revolver Entertainment would be a good
distributor for our film because it supports a lot of low
budget, British films with all kinds of genres including a lot
of thrillers, horrors and crime/horror-thrillers. They have
distributed films with a horror/thriller-crime genre such as
‘Snow Town Murderes’ and ‘Chatroom’. Revolver
Entertainment also distributes films to UK cinema’s such as
Odeon, Vue, Cienworld, Showcase and Everyman.
6. FUNDING OUR FILM
A good company to fund our film, ‘Deadline’, would be
Ingenious Investments as they invest in media and
entertainment. They have also funded quite a few British
Tv shows and movies. For example, they have invested
in ‘The inbetweeners’ and ‘The best Exotic Marigold
Hotel’.
