International Winter Series Cricket Feasibility Study

SERIES CASE STUDY
Project Title: International Cricket Winter Series
Client: Cricket Australia
Project Description
ISFM was commissioned by Cricket Australia to assist
them in undertaking a study to assess the feasibility of
establishing an annual international cricket series to be
played during Australia’s winter months. The series
would feature both One Day Internationals and Test
Matches.
The study was completed within a 16 week period and
focused on the following critical elements:
− Selection of appropriate northern
Australian cities and towns
− Programming of a series cognisant
of international touring schedules,
local sporting fixtures and weather
patterns
− Access to domestic and internation-
al travel
− A financial feasibility taking into
account both capital (facility im-
provements) and recurrent funding
ISFM completed the study and assisted Cricket Australia
in preparing for the initial series held in Darwin and
Cairns in July 2003.
