The document discusses the creation of a print advertisement for a band. The creator chose a group photo showing the band sitting down to appear approachable for their youthful audience. Editing techniques were kept consistent with previous work to establish the band's style. Text and design elements were added, including magazine ratings and the iTunes logo, to maintain continuity. Feedback will be sought from the target audience on the draft.
2. My Original Photograph
I chose to use this photograph to add variety to range of images and this
does that by being a different shot type to the others. The other
photographs were head shots and individual of each band member so I
decided to use a group photo at a mid-shot distance. I also think the shot
of them sitting down makes them appear approachable and informal and
this will appeal to the youthful target audience.
3. Editing – House Style
I have kept consistency and continuity by using the same
editing technique as I used in my Digipack. This allows for
the band’s house style to be established and constant.
4. Print Advert Development
I began to add text in the same font
and colour theme as my Digipack to
keep continuity and a house style. I
added the iTunes logo as a key
convention of print adverts.
5. Print Advert Development
I continued to add key
conventions such as star
ratings from music magazines
and I chose NME as there are
one of the most famous music
magazines and suitable for
the band’s genre.
6. Print Advert
Because of the status of the
band, I chose for the advert to
be A5 size as they wouldn’t be
able to afford a full page advert
yet.
7. I will now ask people from my target
audience for feedback on this first draft.
