1. Idea 1
1. Your working title
âDreamscan come trueâ
I chose thistitle because Ifeel likeitdescribesthe filmbasesreallywell andgivesagoodover
viewof the filmscontent. The whole ideaisabouta girlâsdreamcomingtrue butnot inthe
original way.So, the title fitsthe narrative reallywell withoutgivingtoomuchaway. I alsolike
the title because itsrolesof the tongue andis remember-able because of the well-knownsong
âdreamsâbyGabrielle,whichisahit songfromthe early90âs.
2. Lengthof shortfilm
The predicted lengthof myshortfilmwill be between5-8minutes.
I thinkthisisa goodlengthof time because itwonâtmake the filmdrag meaningitwonâtget
boring.Havingitthislengthof time will enableme tofocusmore on the qualityandeffectsof
the filmas I onlyhave a limitedtimetoeditandproduce the film.Thiswill hopefulencourage
the meaningof the filmtocome acrossstronger as Iâll be able to focus more precisely onthe
small meaningful segmentsof the filmandthe editingwillalsohopefully be of higherquality.
3. Logline/tagline
âDonâtstopdreaming.You neverknow whatmighthappen!?â
I have come up withthisideaformy logline as itaddsmore mysteryto the title of the film.Ithas
a directlinkto the title byusingthe wordâdreamsâinboth, butextendsonthe audienceâs
theoriesandknowledge aboutthe filmfromthe title.âDonâtstopdreamingâsuggeststhat a
dreamcouldhave beendreamtfora longtime andthe individual wassopassionate andstuck
on thisdreamnothingelse evercrossedtheirmind,itâsliketheywantedthisdreamtohappen
so badly theyâre notgoingtogive upon it until itbecomestrue andtheyâll doeverythingthey
possible cantopursue it.âyouneverknow whatmighthappenârelatestothe title andsupports
it exactly,as itsuggestingthatsome essence of the dreammust have come true or something
bettermightof evenhappened.Youknow thisbythe use of it beingarhetorical questiongetting
the audience tofinishesplottingand writingthe storythemselvesuntil theyseethe true outline
and narrative.Italsotellsyouthatthere is goingtobe more to the story thanan individual
dreamingandit comingtrue, itsuggestsitâs goingtocome true ina particularwayor maybe ina
differentwaytohowthe individual waswantingwhichcouldâveendedupbetter. Overall, Ithink
thislogline reallysumsupthe shortfilmmakingitan easydecisiontowhether itâsgoingtosuit
certainaudiencesbeforetheystartwatchingitor evenreadingthe blurb.AnotherreasonIthink
itâsgoodbecause itâsquite remember-able inthe essence itstwocommonsayingsmix together
creatinga catchy logline.
4. Introductionof keycharacters

5. Synopsis
Its 2013. And an average eveningfora 15-year-oldgirl whohasa dream. The same dreamsheâs
had since a little girl. A dreamtobecome a winner.Firstplace inadance completion.Togeta
trophyfor herone passion. There wasnevera momentwhen she hadnâtdanced, evensince she

Aftermanyyearsof classesandcompletions one thingwasstoppingherfromachievingher

Act1: it wasa typical eveninginherfamilyhouse. She wasgettingshoweredandready forbed,
dancingas she didso; plie, releve, tapâŠeverythingshe did, wasfollowedbyadance move,
dance was constantlyonhermind.
Act2: It startedas a normal dream.Andfinishedasa normal dream.But thistime itfeltreal,like
she was actuallythere, livingit.Itbeginswithme walkingontothismassive stage andtakingin
all the surreal surroundings. The lightsturnonandI see a humongouscrowdsat inthe
auditoriumwatching,waitingforme toperform.Thentorealise thereâs4judgessatat a desk

Andthatâs where itended. âŠBlackâŠ
Act3: I woke up,drowsyand half a sleep,yarningtill myheartcontents.Still dozingandtossing

Was it true didI actuallywin!
6. Target audience:
My targetaudience issecondaryschool age andolder(11+). Iâm having
such a wide spreadof audience age because Ithinkthe message could
meansomethingdifferenttoeveryonefromall classesanderas.
AlthoughIwouldlike toreachall audiences,Ifeel like the mainviewers
are goingto be teenage girls,Ithinkthisbecause dancingappealsto
girlsmore. Also, girlsare more openandexpressiveabouttheirfeelings
and private ambitions; so, the title havingthe wordâdreamsâinitwould
automatically appeal togirlsand be a turn off formajorityof boys.
Withinthe NRSscale my audience wouldfallbetweenA throughtoE. I
thinkthisbecause everyone ineveryclasshasadream thattheywant to
come true soin Hinessightitshouldappeal toeveryone.
7. Form andstyle:
I am planningonshootingthisfilmintwodifferentstyles;ambientlighting
witha yellowtint.Thiswillbe forthe dreamingpartof the film, whenthe
girl isdancingon stage.I am planningondoing thisbecause Ifeel by
havingthe yellowtint itâllgive itadreamlike effectasits hazyand
dull/subtle,givingasleepyfeel,Ialsomighttryto make these scenesout
of focusandblurryas well asthiswill addtothe dreamingeffectandmake
the filmeasiertofollow. The otherstyle Iâmgoingtouse is stage lighting
and bightnatural lookinglights. Iâmusingthisforthe sceneswhereitâsher
actual life and sheâslivingnormally. Iâmusingthisstyleforthese scenesas
itâsbrightand focuseson whatâs real, byit beingnatural lighting ona
natural event.
8. Market place:
I believethisfilmwill dowell inthe marketerespeciallyforteensandon
social media.Thisisbecause of the hiddenmeaning, the storyline and
narrative,Ithinkitâll be well sharedoverFacebookandtwittermeaningit
will reachmore people andawideraudience asa widerrange of people
will come acrossit. On YouTube thiswill gofar inthe short filmareaas it
has a meaningthatâll appeal tolotsof people andevenhasaneducational
background,âtonevergive upâwhatI can imagine teachersusingin
assemblies.
