Charles Brush designed and built a larger wind turbine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1887-1888. The turbine had a 17 meter diameter rotor and was mounted on an 18 meter tower, making it large for the time. It was powered by a 12 kW dynamo and could power up to 100 light bulbs, three arc lamps, and motors in Brush's laboratory by either charging batteries or directly powering the devices.
