Unemployment. I attended over twenty interviews in two
years. They were all futile. Ben Ramedani saw my content
on LinkedIn and said, "Hey, man! You are too good. You
should not be unemployed. You should be making money
with your writing. And I took his words hook, line and
sinker. So, I got on Udemy and Alison to learn content
creation.

What is your opinion on the necessity for healthcare
supply chain management companies to align their
offerings with the latest technological advances,
especially when it comes to catering to ever-evolving
healthcare needs?
Businesses and individuals must continually improve to
advance the company and themselves. Staying abreast of
the market, technological advances, industry developments,
and clients’ needs is part of the framework for success.
When a company “stands still”, there is no forward
movement. No forward movement results in other
companies innovating and advancing as your company is
“standing still”. New challenges, new inventions and new
developments equal new opportunities.
There are many aspects of the healthcare supply chain that
are very different today than even a year ago. UDI
capabilities are being refined daily which will provide a
whole new level of visibility and information that was not
previously available.
The trend of homecare (vs. acute care) and virtual home
therapies is on the rise which will require a supply chain to
support its needs (e.g., individual orders and at-home
deliveries). As the needs of our healthcare industry evolve,
healthcare supply chain management companies must
create, adapt, and advance technologies, infrastructure, and
processes to support it.
As an established leader, what would be your advice to
the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to
venture into the healthcare supply chain management
business?
For those entrepreneurs considering a business in healthcare
supply chain management, there are a few critical success
factors to consider before entering:
Know the industry: If you don’t know about the healthcare
industry, find existing healthcare supply chain leaders that
you can learn from and/or engage as an advisor.
Know the need and make sure your product or service
meets the need, at the right time and the right price:
Because healthcare is so complex, many believe it can be
simplified. Test your concept/idea with those who are
familiar with the healthcare buying process and/or investors
in the healthcare supply chain space.
Even if your product or service is transformational and you
know there is a need, the benefit and value to the healthcare
organization must be clear, concise, and easy to understand.
Evaluate and consider all the benefits/value your product or
service will bring to your clients. Healthcare organizations
value price, but some organizations place equal value (and
sometimes more) on the impact to quality and outcomes.
Expect a long and slow sales cycle.
How do you envision scaling your company’s services in
2022 and beyond?
RDA plans to grow our business by over 25 percent next
year. To do this, we plan to have a continued focus on our
clients, our relationships, our strategic alliances and our
core competency of healthcare supply chain services.
Our business is 100% referral and to get more referrals we
plan to continue focusing on documenting and sharing our
successes. In addition, we have spent years establishing
individual relationships and strategic alliance relationships.
Focusing on those key relationships will enable us to foster
new growth internally and externally.
Lastly, but definitely not least, we plan to focus on our
clients. Our clients serve patients. When we serve our
clients, we are improving healthcare and are indirectly
making a difference in patients’ lives.
