NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Last date to return your Advent ‘campaign against hunger and decease’ envelopes is coming Sunday,
7th January. You may bring them back with your contribution and drop them in the community fund box
or handover in the parish office. Please write your complete address and other details.
2. The Sacrament of Confirmation for 28 of our youth will be administered by Bishop Allwyn D’Silva on
the coming Sunday, 7th January. Requesting you to kindly keep them in your prayers. The 9.30
confirmation mass will begin at 10.
3. The PYC will be organizing Group Dance Competition as part of the Parish Feast Celebrations. Entry
form with further details is available with Fr Henry or in the parish office. Last date to return your entry
form is following Sunday, 14th January.
4. The January Eco kids project will be drawing contest along with Christm as and New year celebration
on Sunday, 14th January. As we had recently Diwali Melava at the parish level, this year animators may
conduct the January project in your own areas.
5. January Bible Quest will be held on Sunday 21st January in the letter of St Paul to Romans.
6. The novenas in preparation for our parish feast will begin from Friday 19th January and feast mass will
be celebrated in the morning on Sunday 28th January 2018. Further details about the parish feast
programmes will be announced in due course.
7. Like every year each registered family will receive a parish calendar as New Year gift. In case you
have not yet received it, contact your PPC members.
8. As an eco-friendly policy of our parish, during various SCC and parish programmes, members are
requested to avoid the use of throw glasses, plates etc. A set of reusable plates and glasses are
available in the church kitchen free of cost. You have to only return it properly washed and wiped for
the use of next group.
9. Most of our neighbouring parishes have started the GREEN FUNERAL, also called Shroud burial or
burial without coffin. This is not only good for environmentas it saves the trees used for coffin, but also
economically beneficial as they save coffin expenses. The Bombay diocese encourages this kind of
burial as it is in keeping with the teaching of Pope Francis to save environment. Therefore, it is
proposed to start shroud burials in our parish starting from this year, January 2018. If you have any
suggestions, you may speak to any of the parish fathers. For more information on the benefits of

10. Families of our parish will shortly receive your community fund status letters. In case you have not paid
your C.F. for 2017, please do so by next Sunday.
11. Whenever you come for any church work, please bring your Family handbook.
12. In the month of January, there will be no SCC meetings. Instead, the core groups will meetto prepare
the liturgy for the parish feast novenas. Themes and other details will be informed later.
13. We thank all those SCC’s who have sent in their community star to be displayed in the Church. We
also thank all those who sponsored the Christmas gift hamper for the needy families. More than 70 gift
hampers were distributed this year. God bless you all!
14. The Bible Diary for 2018 has come. Contact liturgy stall. The bible diary contains the daily mass
readings and reflections, useful for personal and family prayer. Bible diary can be also used as a gift
article for any occasion.
15. On behalf of parish team myself, Fr Henry and sisters of Helpers of Mary, I wish all our parishioners a
happy and grace filled New Year 2018. May the Mary, Mother of God guide us and protect us all
through this year. Today morning there will be 2 masses 7 in Konkani and 8.30 in English.
16. When you disperse after the church services, please take care of your belongings including gold
ornaments, mobiles etc.
