1. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY (8-4-2018)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Today we celebrate the Divine Mercy Sunday.
2. The community cluster wise Easter Masses and blessing of water are being held daily. The schedule of
masses has been sent on WhatsApp parish group.
3. The OLCM half yearly session conducted by the diocesan laity centre will be held today/tomorrow from
10.30 to 11.30 followed by PPC meeting. Those enlisted online bring your snack coupons.
4. The Bible Quest second term trophy will be given during the 9.30 am mass today. Certificates for the
outstanding toppers will be given during the OLCM session today/tomorrow. Collect your cash prizes
before today/tomorrow evening from the parish office.
5. The Bombay Catholic Sabha in association with Holy Spirit Hospital is organising a blood donation
camp today/tomorrow from 9 am to 1 pm. Donating blood is not only a noble act, but also a healthy
practice. All healthy people of between 18 to 60 years are encouraged to donate your blood. You may
also encourage other faith members to donate blood.
6. 17 children of our parish will receive First Holy Communion on coming Sunday 15th April at the 10
am mass. Kindly keep them in your prayers. As a part of the preparation children will have practices
during the week after the evening mass. Your catechist will give you further details. Parents please
ensure that your child attends all the classes and practices.
7. Summer Club for school going children will begin from following Monday 16th April 10 am. Registration
forms available with Fr Henry or Parish office. Registration fee is Rs 50 per child. Those who wish to
volunteer or help out with the organizing aspects kindly give your names to Fr Henry.
8. Like last year there will be summer special online eco quiz contests and a special online elocution
contest for all eco kids. Winners will get cash prizes and certificates. Further details are posted in the
GEM parish WhatsApp group and Infant Nature club group. If you are not there in the Infant Nature
club group, send a message to Fr Felix to add you in the group or meethim personally.
9. At the end of the academic year many families discard the books bags, school uniform etc. instead of
discarding these articles you may bring them to the church and place them on the tables kept in the
basement. Those families in need of such books and articles which are in good condition may pick
them up from the basement tables
10. The RCIA adult baptism course will begin from coming June. Those adults intending to be become
Catholics are required to join this course. Please meet Fr Henry for further details.
11. The Family Cell of our parish has prepared a memento bearing the vision-mission statement of our
parish and a family prayer card for every family in our parish. Your PPC member will give it to you.
Please ensure that you keep this memento on the altar or in a prominentplace in your home and use
the prayer card to recite the family prayer at least once a week in your homes.
12. The Diocesan Human Life Committee will be organising PRO-LIFE day on coming Sunday, April 15 at
St Joseph school, Bandra. Bishop Barthol Baretto has sent a circular to encourage various parish
groups youth, family cell, women’s cell etc to attend this programme. See circular of Bishop on the
notice board.
13. St Joseph Cardiijn technical school conduct various short term technical courses for those SSC and
HSC students who just finished their exams. For details see the poster on the notice board.
14. For the last 2 Sundays it has been announced in the church to pray that, govt may handover the
graveyard land near Aarey colony allotted for Christian cemetery. Perhaps you have read the recent
newspapers and WhatsApp groups that just a few days ago the government has handed over the
allotted land to BMC for graveyard and also land for approach road. We thank God for granting our
prayers. We also thank and congratulate cemetery committee who struggled for 8 years to get a land
sanctioned for Christian cemetery for western suburbs.
15. (9.30 am mass) Today’s liturgy is animated by SCC 2. Coming Sunday turn for liturgy will be SCC 3.
16. The Holy Week (Maundy Thursday,--- Good Friday --- and Easter Sunday collections amounted to
Rs./-.
