Cybersecurity Goal
I came to Kaplan with one objective, to finish my long waited IT Bachelor's degree and advance
further in my career. At first, my goal was to go for the Cybersecurity program, but due to cost and
time, I decided to just finish my IT degree then specialized in Security afterwards by taking
certification classes after I finish my degree. There are many opportunities after I get my degree, the
door will be right open to explore other things and specialized in a field I desire to enter. I do have
some weakness I need to work on it, such as scripting, server, and a more depth in networking. With
the classes from Kaplan and some more reading on my own on the subject, I intend to get better
when is needed. Strong side, I would say is my analytical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It sounds shallow, but it is what it is and what I'm able to do right now. At work, things are different,
I do work well as part of a team, but in school, and especially online, it is difficult to accomplish
that. When I struggle with a subject, I do reach out to the professor, do my own search online, get
help from someone I believe might know the answer, and try resolving myself. I have never paid for
a tutor or used the tutoring help, haven't needed yet, but if needed, I don't have a problem doing at
all. As I mentioned earlier, my plan, my goal after I finish my degree with Kaplan is to purse more
knowledge, certifications, and a career in Cybersecurity. It is my passion and definitely what I want
to do. It is a sort of game that fascinates me. If you are passion about something and want to have a
career you really love, then you need to go for it, and my goal, my plan is to go for it. I do plan to
take the CCNA certification, Security + Certification then the CCNA Security Certification as well,
and from there, find out what else is needed. Learn Python and some more scripting is something I
want to do on my own time after I finish

Human Nature Summary
An author, introduced as a phycologist has revealed that human nature is unique and are easily
influenced by each other which help them to shape and built social practices, to create different
ambience to follow belief as well as to have suggestibility which can induce a normal person.
Human beings are not only effected by other's behaviour but also by all those social sciences which
have been observed and been practised. As a citizen, an individual should focus on their study to
show themselves as the best human being from their role on the society and their contribution for
the place where they live in. In this story, an author has also explained about his observation done
between college students. The college students were asked to give their opinions on various matter
like choices which, resulted with argumentative situation opposing to their own opinions, many
subjects apparently shifted their judgments in the direction of the views of majority or experts. The
sheer weight of number or authority sufficed to change opinion, even when no arguments for the
opinions themselves were provided. There is some reason to wonder whether it was not the
investigation who, in their enthusiasm for a theory, were suggestible and whether the seemingly
gullible subjects were not providing answers which they thought were good subjects to discuss. The
author describes a series of experiment which have not only confirmed the finding that group
pressure can shape opinion, but also raised

Subject Matter Jurisdiction In Criminal Justice
Define "Jurisdiction."
According to dictionary.com, jurisdiction is "the right, power, or authority to administer justice by
hearing and determining controversies" (dictionary.com, n.d.). An example of jurisdiction would be
the courts of limited jurisdiction which is where small cases and criminal disputes that involves
small amounts of money is decided. Also, subject–matter jurisdiction and in personam jurisdiction
are another type of jurisdiction. According to our textbook, subject–matter jurisdiction is "a court's
power to decide the type of dispute involved in the case" (Mallory et al, 2016). In personam
jurisdiction is "based on residence, location, or activities of the defendant" (Mallory et al, 2016). So,
a state court would have in personam jurisdiction over a defendant who are citizens of the state, who
consents to court's authority or who are within states borders when the process is served on them
(Mallory et al, 2016). On what bases could a private dispute be decided in Federal Court?
A private dispute can be decided in Federal Court if the "case is between citizens of different states
and if the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000" (Mallory et al, 2016). For example, if I met
someone who was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the plaintiff enforces the judgement, they will obtain a "writ of execution which enables the
sheriff or federal marshal to seize designated property of the defendant and sell it at a judicial sale to
help satisfy the judgement" (Mallory et al., 2016). Then, a judgement winner would use a procedure
known as garnishment to seize the defendant property, money, and wages to give to a third party like
the bank or employer. According to our textbook, it states that the U.S. Constitution must give "full
faith and credit to the judgment of the state in which the plaintiff originally sued" (Mallory et al.,

The Hidden Recesses Of The Mind
He that has eyes to see and ears to hear may convince himself that no mortal can keep a secret. If his
lips are silent, he chatters with his fingertips; betrayal oozes out of him at every pore. And thus the
task of making conscious the most hidden recesses of the mind is one which it is quite possible to
accomplish.
– Sigmund Freud, Dora:An Analysis of a Case of Hysteria
All human writing contains hidden pieces of the unconscious mind buried within layers of symbols
and psychological defenses. When one writes something, all previous experiences, feelings, and
thoughts are brought together to form whatever the person wishes to convey. Hidden emotions and
feelings that are being suppressed by psychological defences are often expressed unconsciously
revealing the speaker 's hidden secrets. Logan LeBlanc's squibs contain multiple different
psychological defences, but Intellectualization and escapism appear the most often; they are usually
used together in his writing. Almost every time a very personal topic comes up in one of LeBlanc's
logical trains of thought, the conversation suddenly changes to either something that he deems
happy or acceptable, or he starts stating facts about one topic or another. One example is when he
says "This would mean that even though most people are strangers, they are still family in a way"
after talking about the relationship between family and strangers in squib number one. After saying
this, he immediately escapes his thoughts and changes

My Field Experience At S Bryan Jennings Elementary
My field experience took place at S Bryan Jennings Elementary in Mrs.Reid 's second grade
classroom for a little over a month. During my time within the classroom I observed the subjects:
reading, mathematics, and phonics, science, and writing. I also observed a teacher planning period.
When I was within the classroom I observed the techniques the teacher used in the subjects, the
programs used, the children's abilities with the subject and/or topic, the students struggles within the
subject and/or topic, the teachers struggles with students who did not understand, and the
stereotypes that applied and/or did not apply to the classroom, teacher, and students. Within this
dissertation, I will describe and focus on these observations in a more specific way following with
observed examples.
Mrs. Reid has 16 students consisting of five females and eleven males. One of the five females was
a minority; she was Asian. Five of the eleven males were also minority decent, such as oriental,
African American, ect. On a side note, within the second grade class there was also Hattian decent
students. Five of the eleven males left at some point during the week for more specific teachings to
their ability, such ESE, ELOS, or gifted; the same five minority males were NOT the same five that
left during the week. Only one of the five males that left during the week was for gifted; he was
Caucasian. The other four that left were of the minority. None of the four were Asian.

A Study On Student 's Abilities
Design a Study
Teachers who have higher expectations of their student's abilities will have a higher academic
achievement as compared to teachers who have low expectations of their students abilities. In this
study, the independent variable is the expectation of the teachers on their student's abilities, and the
dependent variable is the student achievements based upon the teacher expectations. The
achievements can be measured by monitoring classrooms in a high school setting for English class
for one year, with some classes having a teacher with high expectations, and other classes having a
teacher with low expectations. The achievements would be measured by a preliminary assessment,
test results, quarterly reports, and an end of year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first limitation I came across was that the students themselves can determine their academic
achievements. For example they could be really good students who try there hardest no matter what
or there could be bad students who do not care if you have high expectations or not. Secondly, the
subject at hand can also have a big influence. In this case the
subject is English because it is a requirement class. Therefore if the student enjoys english they will
do very well and achieve good things because they enjoy learning about the subject. But if the
student does not enjoy english they will not care to do their best on their work and will do the
minimum to just pass the class. Lastly, the atmosphere they are in is also another thing that can
influence the student. If they are in an atmosphere where the whole class acts up and does not do
their work they will follow in those footsteps. However if they are surrounded by a mixture of
people who do their work or do not do their work they will choose to do what they think is best.
Fear and Affiliation
In a previous study, a researcher decided to test if people who experience fear prefer to be alone or
with other people. In this study, the participants were all women and were randomly assigned to
either condition– the "fear" condition and the "no fear" condition. The dependent variable being the
women and how their emotions and choice to stay together or alone will be measured, and the

Tres Riches Heures Of Jean Duc De Berry 'AndPoet On A...
To begin, the two paintings have in common is the obvious aspects of the settings being outside.
Also, they both show sign of civilization with people being the subject and having some sort of
housing in the works. "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" and "Poet on a
Mountain Top", also have some similarities in their brush work, there is amazing in the nature and
settings of these two paintings. Finally, both works have some type of inscription on them. These
two pieces do not have much in common aside from a few things, their contrasts will be up for
discussion next.
The first difference spotted between these two is that "Poet on a Mountain Top", is in black and
white, and "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" is painted in color. Aside from that,
"February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry", is part of a prayer book and "Poet on a
Mountain Top" is a literati painting, meaning that it was not painted for money but was just meant
for someone else to have. Next, "Poet on a Mountain Top" has a scholar in the picture finding the
spirit in nature, and, "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" expresses what it is like
to a peasant in the winter. Also, "Poet on a Mountain Top" has a poem inscribed on it, while,
"February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" has a zodiac calendar inscribed on the top. In,
"February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" it gives more of a depressing feel with the
peasants losing their crops

Literature And Literature Essay
Literature is a class that every student should take because it would better them as students and as
humans in society. It helps by your writing skills and grammar gets better and you become a better
writer and those skills goes a long in life. Many of those skills would come helpful when trying to
communicating with people in the workforce. When applying for a job your writing skills would
come out helpful. As well as when needed to send an email you want to sound professional in what
you're going to say you the person. However that not the only things that would come out from
taking the literature class as well as taking about subject that no one else what to. Therefore you get
a sense of understanding on subjects that no one else what to talking about, and what everyone else
thinks about the subject as well. Literature is a subject that can be taken back many years ago that
can still be related to today's issues. Literature is like history where we can learn from it and make
the situation better. Many college students may argue that their field of study may not need it,
however literature is a class where you can have discussions with different people from different
backgrounds, and get their view of the subject. However it is understanding that they may not want
to take it, because it will cost them money for a class they do not need it. When taking a literature
class you may be required to read books and talk to the classroom about it, and that is why it is a

Why Surveillance Is Important
Surveillance occupies a major portion of the typical private investigator's day, and is one of their
most important tasks. Here are a few hints and tips for any new or aspiring private investigator to
help improve their surveillance skills:
It's not exactly thrilling sitting all night in your car checking on someone who says his recent
accident means he is house–bound, while the insurance company suspects the claimant is still
running a night–time taxi business from home. A colleague who specializes in this type of
investigation says that, instead of sitting up all night waiting to see if the person is working nights
on the taxis, he places a small coin on the top of the rear tyre of the car, then goes home to bed. If
the coin is still there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But don't do this too regularly, in case the technique actually draws the attention you seek to avoid.
Investigators in quiet areas like villages and parks will find a dog a useful ally. After all, a man out
walking his dog can retrace his route, walk off the beaten track, and stop and stand still for a couple
of minutes, without making anyone curious.
The successful investigator never looks his subject in the eye; not for long periods, that is.
Sunglasses –– even if they are a bit of a cliché in detective movies –– are a good idea in appropriate
places and at particular times, as they mean you can look without giving the game away. At night or
in the middle of winter, however, they are certain to attract suspicion!
On a similar theme, never point your car directly at a subject. Park facing the other way, and watch
your subject through the rear–view mirrors.
Finally, be patient. "Softly, softly, catchee monkey" Charlie Chan advised. And a large American
detective agency adds to its promotional literature: 'We do nothing quickly'.

Grammatical Structure And Inflectional Morphology
Verb–Subject Agreement Issues in Association with VSO and SVO Word Order Patterns in Hijazi
Arabic
Abrar Abdulrahman J. Alsanosi
California State University, Fullerton
1. Introduction Arabic belongs to the Semitic language family. It has a complex syntactic structure
and inflectional morphology. Throughout this paper, the main variety of Arabic to be syntactically
investigated is "Hijazi Arabic" which is spoken mainly in the Hijaz region, the western coast of
Saudi Arabia.
There are two basic types of sentences in Hijazi Arabic, the nominal sentence which starts with a
noun, and the verbal sentence which starts with a verb (Mohammad, 2000: 2). As in:
Word order Sentences from Hijazi Arabic (reads from right left) Tree diagram
SVO (1) al–bɪnt katabat al–dars the–girl wrote 3sg fem. the–lesson

A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Speech By Dr. Peter Weinstock
In January 2016, Dr. Peter Weinstock who is an Intensive Care Unit physician and Director of the
Pediatric Simulator Program at the Boston Children's Hospital / Harvard Medical School delivered a
speech at the TED conference. The topic of his speech was "Lifelike simulations that make real–life
surgery safer", in which he presented how important in difficult surgeries can be the use of current
computer special effects and 3D prints. In his speech, he in an amazing way underlines how
important it is to use realistic simulations before precise surgeries, especially for children. Using
examples, slides and other help he shows the audience the wonders of technology to help analyze
the case in every respect, but also to minimize the risk of failure of the operation. From the first
minutes, the audience is attracted by their appearance, attitude, and tone of voice, which attests to
his professionalism and knowledge of the subject. Through appropriate modulation of voice, he
manages to keep the audience's attention to the end.
Weinstock begins his speech with intriguing questions addressed to the audience. Quietly voice he
asks questions strongly affecting their imagination and then declares that something as unimaginable
for them is real. On the screen, he shows a photo of the newborn and properly aligning the voice he
builds tension in the audience step by step reporting on the child's condition after birth. He shows
the X–ray of baby and explains in detail what the problem is.

IV. Presentation of Data
Teacher: Yesterday, we talked about the difference between a sentence and a sentence fragment.
Yesterday also, you answered exercises in the workbook. Yes or No?
Students: Yes!
Teacher: Thank you for your response. In connection to that, I'll be introducing a new topic which is
about Recognizing Subject and Predicate. And I believe you have a good idea as regards these two
basic parts of a sentence. Let's continue. Let's try to differentiate a complete subject from a complete
predicate. Someone to read? Yes, Mr. Pascua.
Student: The complete subject names what or whom the sentence is telling about.
Teacher: Okay, that's the complete subject. In other words, it is the one being talked about in a
sentence. What makes it different from a predicate now? Someone to read?
Student: The complete predicate says something about the complete subject.
Teacher: Okay, the complete predicate tells something about the complete subject. It describes the
complete subject. Okay, let's continue. Later on, I'll be giving examples of it. Anyway, let's have
some examples of complete subjects and

Analysis Of The Speech And Language Therapist 's Caseload
The treatment of stammering has been reported as one of the least popular aspects of the speech and
language therapist's caseload (St Louis et al1993 cited in Crichton–smith 2002) and speech
therapists give negative personality traits to people who stammer (Ruscello et al 1989). The purpose
of this study will be to investigate whether the attitudes of SLT's towards child stammering have an
effect on the intervention they are able to provide and what elements impact on this. The focus will
be on the speech therapist's views and the questions will be adapted to cover any new topics that
arise. It would be useful to have a growth in knowledge in this area to ensure that speech therapists

In addition, this study focuses on clinician attitudes in general towards children who stammer and
doesn't specifically look at their views on therapy for this client group. Therefore, this proposed
study aims to build on the research carried out by Critchton–Smith and focus on the therapy and
intervention for children who stammer.
Another study that has previously considered this subject is Cooper et al 1996 which looked at
clinician's attitudes towards stutterers and what they do in therapy with clients who stutter. However
this study was carried out with Speech and Language therapists in the USA, therefore the proposed
study will be carried out with British speech therapists as the attitudes may be very different to those
in the USA and may also have changed over the last 20 years after the introduction of various
training via Michael Palin and the Lidcombe centre. The cooper study also outlined that 30% of
therapists thought that therapy for school aged children would be ineffective if they had no early
intervention (Cooper et al 1996) Therefore in this study it would be useful to see if therapist's
attitudes have changed towards providing therapy for those who have not had early intervention.
Therefore, after considering the previous literature the justification for carrying out this study would
be there has been no

CHAPTER 2
Exercise 5( page 47)
English has a suffix –en whose uses is illustrated in the following lists:
List A: red black mad soft hard sweet ...
List B: redden blacken madden soften harden sweeten ...
A. The part of speech of the words in list A belongs to adjective category. The suffix "en" is attached
to the words in list A. The other morphemes can be attached to the words in list A such as "er", "est",
"ish"
B and C.
The words in list B are all the verbs
E.g. sharp – sharpen
The derived verb form "sharpen" means "to make sharp something".
The suffix "en" introduces a new element of meaning, roughly means "make something X" where X
is the meaning of the adjective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems to be that prefix re– can only attaches to transitive verbs in list A, not to intransitive verbs.
However , there are some exceptions when prefix r– can attach to intransitive verbs in list B such as

C. When re– is attached to a word or stem, the part of speech of the resulting word or stem still
remains. For example: "do": a verb( "redo" is also a verb.
D. In general, adding the prefix re to a word or stem, the meaning changes indicate the repetition of
action or with the meaning back or backward to indicate withdrawal or backward motion such as
revert, regenerate,..
In the ideal 'cases, that prefix "re–" brings the unpredicted meaning
E. Some word with "re" that have erractic or unexpected meanings such as rebel, rescue, remark,
refer, receive, relay, replace, reverse, ....
F. We can say " reshoot a movie" because shoot is a verb. When we add pre re in this situation , it
brings the general meaning that repeats the action "shoot" a movie. But we can't say " reshoot a
terrorist" because after" shoot " is a object about person.
G. The prefix re– also brings itself some problematic aspects of morphological analysis.
– First of all, as can be said above, the word information rule is that the prefix re– only attaches to
the verbs. However, there are some exceptions that the prefix re– is also attached to some adjectives

Little Girls Or Little Women Analysis
A Rhetorical Analysis on "Little Girls or Little Women" After reading"Little Girls or Little Women",

The article articulates the fears of its intended audience which are the parents and caregiver of the

people who profit from the selling of certain things to young girls who don't agree with (Hanes)

Disadvantages Of Infinitive Clauses
Section Three
3.1 Non–finite clauses
(Quirk, Greenbaum, Geoffrey, & Svartik, 1985), say that non–finite clauses are regularly dependent.
They are more compact and less explicit than finite clauses. They are not marked for tense and
modality, and they frequently lack an explicit subject and subordinator. (17): I don't know what to
write about.
3.1.1 Types of non–finite clauses
1– Bare infinitive
Bare infinitive is the base form of the verb without to, this form of nonfinite clause has no tense. The
bare infinitive in general is very limited because it mostly occurs after verbs of causation, perception
and modal auxiliary. (18): I saw Jim leave. (See is a verb of perception) (19): I can tell the truth.
(Telling the truth is what occurs after modal auxiliary.
Bare infinitive in this case, functions as the complement of a verb, that is , it adds more information
to make the main verb understandable. (Biber, Johansson, Leech, Conrad, & Finegan, 1999).
2– Infinitive clauses
Uninflected infinitive forms which comprise simply the base or stem of the verb with no added
inflection (such forms are frequently used after the so–called infinitive particle to) Infinitive clauses
can have a range of syntactic roles a– subject (20): The best thing would be for you to tell
everybody. b– without subject (21): The best thing would be to tell everybody. c– Direct object (22):
He upset you very much, and I hate to see that. (Quirk, Greenbaum, Geoffrey, & Svartik, 1985)

The Discursive View Of Identity
In alignment with one of the key points from the previous section, which denies the integral and
unified account of identity, this section elaborates the discursive view of identity. In order to
understand this shift in conceptualising identity, we will revisit the simple definition of identity from
Longman dictionary (section 9.1.1). The later part of this definition, specifically, the second key
phrase "different from other people" brings about the discussion of the discursive approach to
identity. Departing from the essentialist viewpoint of identity as a stable core of self, later literatures
have advocated a close relation between the processes of intersubjectivity and the crucial role of 'the
others' in identity construction (Hall, 2000). As a nature of human beings, the process of
identification is seen as a universal need to belong to a group, to reflect on others, thus define
themselves and others. In other words, it is to say that identity is constructed through 'difference' and
experienced by contrast (Benveniste, 2000). Specifically, "[i]n common sense language,
identification is constructed on the back of recognition of some common origin or shared
characteristics with another person or group, or with an ideal, and with the natural closure of
solidarity and allegiance established on this foundation" (Hall, 2000:16). The common origin or
shared characteristics here do not adhere to the essentialist viewpoint of identity as an identical and
unchangeable stage of

Environmental Analysis Of Hwy 19 ( Walmart )
On the above date and time, I was conducting an area, check of, 8701 Us Hwy 19 (Walmart) in my
marked patrol vehicle when I smelled a strong odor consistent with marijuana coming from the West
side of the grocery entrance.
Upon approach to the West side of the business, I observed three white males squatting on the curb
next to a green Jeep utility consuming alcohol from a dark color bottled labeled "Bud Light." As I
exited my patrol vehicle and proceeded toward the three subjects, the odor of marijuana became
stronger. While present with the subjects Walmart Manager Kathleen Ritz arrived on scene and
advised that she would like to have the subjects trespassed. Ritz further advised that all of the
subjects had been drinking alcohol in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that he was not in town at the moment.
Contact was made with the subjected detained in the back of Officer Cox's patrol vehicle. The male
subject identified himself as Jared's brother, Joshua Depew. Joshua's identity was confirmed using
D.A.V.I.D. Joshua stated that if any marijuana was left anywhere it was his. Joshua further stated
that this incident was his fault and that he needed a ride for alcohol, so his brother, (Jared) enlisted
his girlfriend, (Scott), to drive to Walmart for him. Joshua kept stating that everything was his and to
take him to jail, not Scott or Jared. When asked about the other unidentified male, Joshua was only
able to provide a first name of, Joshua.
Contact was then made with the male subject named Joshua in the back of Officer Hartmann's patrol
vehicle. The subject advised that his name was Joshua Bene, and provided hid date of birth. This
information was confirmed in D.A.V.I.D. and identified him as Joshua Bene. Bene advised that he
was just along for the ride and alcohol.

Analysis Of Sarah Polley's Stories We Tell
At the beginning of Sarah Polley's 2013 Stories We Tell, a quote by Margret Atwood appears and
states that, "In the end, we'll all become stories" (Polley). This quote leads to the main message of
the film involving storytelling and the profound significance it carries in life. As memories form, we
reflect on them and the stories that accumulate from those memories begin to define us. The film
begins with Polley presenting her storytellers, who are all part of the family. She simply asks her
family to tell the story, from the beginning, of her mother Diane. They have their own way of
disclosing facts about Diane, but it's how each person uniquely tells the story that is most
interesting. Whether filled with pleasure, sorrow, or regret, each subject individually describes
Diane's life. This reveals that how one is remembered or even currently portrayed is established
through the memories of others, mysteries and all. Through the use of intimate interviews of her
family members, Polley successfully investigates the reconstruction of her mother's existence. The
memories and stories families collectively tell, even if they are unclear, are what define the truth.
Each person's honesty reveals his or her perspective on the story of Diane. The film uncovers details
of the marriage of Sarah's dad Michael and mom Diane. Each sibling describes Diane as exciting
and Michael as more mellow. The family members then continue describing the in's and out's of
Diane's family, life, and

Active Voice
Voice:
In simple words, Voice (in other words (but rarely said) is also called, diathesis) is a term that
describes the relation between an action (verb) taken by the subject, the subject (the one who
performs the action) and the object (the thing being acted upon).
Active Voice:
Active voice is most commonly used verb. Active voice is where; the subject is the one who
performs an action (verb), while object is the thing being acted upon.
When the subject performs an action, the verb is in Active voice.
For example:
The mouse ate the cheese.
Here, the mouse is the subject, ate is the action (verb) and cheese is the object. Since the subject is
doing an action, we say that the verb is in active voice.

Rita writes a letter.
Here, Rita is the subject, writes is the active verb and letter is the object.
Sarah has written a book on her family.
Here, Sarah is the subject, written is the active verb and book is the object.
Uses of the Active Voice:
Active sentences are more direct (This proves that the subject admits that he was the one who did
the act) and engaging for the reader. The sentences are shorter and allow you to express an
authoritative tone. And they are also often less confusing and ambiguous.
Passive Voice:
Passive voice is where; the object is suspected to have done an action (verb) and the subject is the
thing being performed on.
When the subject is the target for an action, then the verb is in Passive voice.
For example:
The cheese was eaten by the mouse.
Here, the cheese is the subject, eaten is the passive verb and mouse is the object. Since the subject is
the one being suspected for the action, we say that the verb is in the passive voice.

Analysis Of The Article ' The Body Paragraphs '
After first reviewing the article, it came to the reader's attention that Neltner was providing the
stronger argument. Neltner believed that smarter investments and stricter oversight were the key to
providing safe drinking water to the public. When speaking to the reader in the introduction, he used
a first person point of view to attract the reader's attention. For example, the word "we" was used to
make the reader feel involved in the subject. A similar method was utilized in the conclusion to
remind the reader that they were included in this discussion. In the body paragraphs, the same
method was used in a similar way. The writer deviated to third person point of view instead of first.
This was intended to cause the argument to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was not clear with his argument. Therefore, his redirect is lacking. Neltner leaves the reader
guessing because the concession is incomplete in the text. He does not state what needs to be done
to improve the drinking water. The redirect needs to be expressed in a better way to justify federal
funding. It is also tied to the concession which makes it come off as an ambiguous phrase. The
"why" from the concession is missing because of this. Neltner's reasoning also comes off as a
potential deceptive statistic which makes also makes it an ambiguous phrase. The reader is not sure
whether there is a mean, median, or mode because the statement is not in depth making it appear to
be deceptive. Of the two men debating this issue, Neltner is the more qualified individual. In this
text he uses himself as an expert opinion because he is a qualified individual. This appears to exhibit
a strength because he is knowledgeable in the subject. However, that is not the case. He uses himself
as the expert opinion, which causes him to not express the value in this value assumption. Despite
the fact that he knows what he is talking about, Neltner does not express what doing enough is in
this article. He talks about how the government could do more, but he does not express what could
be done. Moore's argument has more weaknesses than strengths. He starts off by using first person
point of view in the plural form to transition. But, he does not use them in the

Ketchup E Mayonnaise
For me to learn a language properly I have to have an understanding of the mechanics of the
language. Here is an example of what I mean. If I say, "On what aisle will I find the condiments like
ketchup and mayonnaise," in Spanish, I may say, "Donde encontro condiments egual a ketchup e
mayonnaise?" The person I am talking to may understand me enough to help me, but if I had said,
"Por lo pasillo puedo encontrar condimentos como salsa de tomate y mayonesa?" It would sound
like I know what I'm saying, and it would be easier to understand me. This is why for me to learn
English I have to know the mechanics, or rules of grammar so I can speak properly. I will start with
defining a sentence. A sentence expresses a complete thought. For example ... Show more content on

I can't find the ketchup and mayonnaise. Where can I find them? "The" is an article. The is used
when a noun or pronoun is specific, special, or more than one, and it is placed before the noun or
pronoun. In this sentence the article "the" is placed before the noun, "condiments. So you know the
person is looking specifically for condiments, and there is an expressed interest in more than one
condiment. Condiments is a noun. It means things which are used to flavor food, like ketchup and
mayonnaise. The last word we have to look at is the word, "like." "Like" in this sentence is used as a
preposition. It means, similar, or almost the same. "Like" in this sentence tells you the person may
not be looking for ketchup or mayonnaise, but for condiments in general, and used ketchup and
mayonnaise as an example to explain what is meant by the word condiments. I didn't explain
pronouns, in this little essay. "I" and "them" are pronouns. So I will write briefly about them here.
"Them" is the pronoun which I use in place of the noun, "words" and the "pronoun." "I" is the
pronoun used in this essay in place of my name. Oh, and always put a capital letter to start the first

The Hierarchy Network Model For The Organization Of...
Experiment 1
Experiment 1 is a partial–conceptual replication of Collins and Quillian's (1969) study on the
hierarchy network model for the organization of semantic memory. The purpose of experiment 1
was to test Collins and Quillian's hypothesis stating that response time for category searching should
be slower as a function of an increasing number of levels separating a category subject and it's
predicate term on the semantic hierarchy model. We use the same basic procedure as Collins and
Quillian's experiment, except that we utilize a single category for predicate terms as opposed to
multiple categories at level 2 of the semantic hierarchy model.
Method
Participants and Apparatus. 23 NYU students, taking lab in human cognition, received course credit
for their participation in the experiment. The experiment was administered on standard PC's or
Macintosh computers over a single class period.
Design and Stimuli. The experiment was run using a within–subject design, and consisted of one
independent variable. The independent variable is the number of levels in the hierarchy separating
the subject and predicate terms. There are three levels of the independent variable – 0 levels of
separation, 1 level of separation, and 2 levels of separation. The type of sentence stimulus presented
to subjects, whether it was defined by a "property" or a "superset", was an additional factor taken
into account when analyzing the data. Stimuli consisted of 144 TRUE and FALSE sentences

Pre-Disciplinary Communication Reflection
On August 31, 2017 I spoke with Officer Burns via telephone in regards to his pending discipline
and some concerns that had been brought to my attention by fellow officers and supervisors. The
first portion of the conversation centered on his pending discipline and determining a date that
would be acceptable for him to attend a pre–disciplinary hearing with Captain Berger to discuss the
alleged violations. During this conversation I explained the severity of the violations and that based
upon the number of violations within the past twelve months he will subject to the progressive
discipline policy.
It was stressed to Officer Burns that he could also be subject to termination in the future if his
performance did not improve and he committed another violation. Officer Burns acknowledged that
he understood the severity of the violations and acknowledged that he was aware of the progressive
discipline policy of the city. After discussing the policy violations and determining an acceptable
date for the pre–disciplinary hearing, I segued to the topic of the performance concerns that were
brought to my attention.
The first instance I spoke with Officer Burns about was the concerns that were brought up by Sgt.
Adam Smotrich. Sgt. Smotrich detailed in a message to me that while on a call with Officer Burns
involving an individual experiencing an emotional crisis and wielding a metal pipe, he became
increasingly concerned that Officer Burns would be unable to defend himself. The reason for this
concern was based upon the perceived physical limitations demonstrated by Officer Burns on the
call. Sgt. Smotrich noted a noticeable limp and lack of ability to move laterally or backwards in a
reasonably quick manner.
This caused Sgt. Smotrich concern because he did not want Officer Burns to fall and be unable to
defend himself if the subject advanced quickly while wielding a pipe. Sgt. Smotrich indicated he felt
that Officer Burns would have been unable to adequately defend himself or assist him if he needed
it. Sgt. Smotrich also noticed that after Officer Burns handcuffed the subject who was on the ground
in a prone position, he labored to successfully get up without assistance. Sgt. Smotrich felt it

Conformity And Obedience Are Both Social Behaviors
Conformity and obedience are both social behaviors that are influenced by those around us and
determines our behavior in social situations. When we change our attitude or behavior based on
those around us, we are conforming to their behavior. When we obey what we are told, by what we
perceive to be an authority figure, we are being obedient. Conformity and obedience can have
positive or negative results on our lives, depending on the situation and the individuals involved.
Symbolic interactions are not all the same theoretically. Although all the scholars concur that the

a standard line and three other lines. Out of the three lines, one line was the same length as the

approximately 75% of the subjects conformed at least once and 25% of the subjects never

wanting to fit in with the majority or because they of the assumption that the group has better

have to be like the cool kids. If the cool kids sneak out at night, that's what they need to do. If the
cool kids are drinking beer at parties, they have to do it too. Group size also has a major effect on
conformity. The larger the group size, the increase in conformity. Once the group reaches a certain

Trace History Of Counseling Essay
1. Trace the history of counseling profession in India? Introduction The concept of counseling is not
of a recent one. That said, it must be noted that the accepted system and structures within it have
digressed, though marginally, from traditional dialecticism between the people in the society.
Guidance and Counseling is a persistent phenomenon present in every cultural and social setting; we
seek counseling from elders, parents, teachers and other members in the family or the community.
The significance of it is clearly understood in terms of its indispensability towards the growth and
transitions of every individual for their wellbeing. The precept of counseling and guidance itself is
also rooted very deeply in the doctrines of every religion. Thus in the same way, the conduct and the
belief system of every person is directly or indirectly directed by our faith and conviction towards
religion. Scholars have propounded many definitions to the understanding of the term counseling or
guidance, some of which are as given below. Definition The term guidance and counseling have
been loosely or interchangeably used. According to, Proctor. "Guidance is a process through which
an individual or group of individual are helped to make necessary adjustment to the environment–
inside or outside the school." Kitson. "Guidance is individualized education.' Each student is to be
helped to develop himself to the maximum possible degree in all respect." K.G.Rama Rao.

The Flaws and Shortcomings of African Historiography Essay
The Flaws and Shortcomings of African Historiography
History is formed through a combination of personal experiences, psychological state, personal
objectives, relation with the interviewer, position in society and many other factors that cannot be
scientifically monitored and accounted for. Thus, no historian has been able to filter through the
many layers they need to in order to arrive at an accurate account of history. What "personal
narratives" and "life histories" provide are numerous examples of the complexities and ambiguities
that accompany any reconstruction of African history. Each account of history does not offer a

Relationships Between Interviewer and Subject:
As recognition and acceptance of the subjects' ability to hold back and alter information increased,
so did historians' emphasis on the quality of the relationship between interviewer and interviewee.
For example, Bozzoli made a point of reducing the physical and ethnical variations between
interviewer and interviewee. In order to increase the comfort level of the subject, and in turn, get
more honest and personal information, Bozzoli used female interviewers with racial and ethnic ties
to the subject whereas Mbilinyi had a much more direct approach. Alagoa, Bozzoli, and

The Process Of Conducting Research
Procedure
The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I– search question.
The I– search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be; what is the definition of family
in today's society? There are many methods of investigation that can be used to answer this
question, but I have limited it to eight methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give
me in depth information about my purposed I search question.
The first method of investigation for my I– search project that would best help me gather
information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The interview process is
beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and comprehensive information. The
interviews will consist of ordinary people in todays, society both younger and older the young will
be aged from four to thirty and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to
gain answers to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews
provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this case family.
The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals because family is
a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written about over many years. Many
psychologists have written about what defines a family and how it has changed over time. These
Journals will help me show that the definition is outdated and how it should be

role. The word power sounds like it can be negative or positive depending on who is giving the
power or who holds the power role. Most people will agree that Hitler had lots of power, he didn't
handle his power well but we can all agree he had power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Probably not, but knowing that I had a experienced something similar to someone else makes me
become a reliable person to talk to because of what I went through. I have a friend who plays
college football, he recently broke his ankle and has not gotten it X–rayed because the coach said
the trainer would look at it and tell him what to do from there. The trainer said it was fine and he just
needed therapy and icing it regularly to cure the broken ankle. The coaches have expertise in
football, not injuries. the trainers are in grad school with no degree but have the power of "expertise"
in the subject of injuries but don't have the degree to make them credible in every injury. The
broken ankle has not been cured, and my friend says he will listen to what the coaches say even if it
doesn't get better because he has that level of trust given by the coach. Whether he should get the
ankle looked at by someone with a degree is beside the point, the trust between the coach, the
trainer, and the player is that the coaches and trainer hold a level of expertise that not even a doctor

The Tv Crichton Smith
THE TV
Iain Crichton Smith, a Scottish poet, acclaimed for his focus on the ever–present theme of
geographical exile. Through his work, he can be seen to describe the process of leaving home –
particularly in a rural place similar to the island in which he grew up in. However, his use of exile in
many different forms can be found in a variety of Crichton Smith's poetry, resulting in what can be
analysed as a deeper and more meaningful sense of the idea of exile. He effectively explores the
cultural and religious background behind those who ultimately distance themselves from the reality
of the modern–day world he was living in. He explores the idea of death as a final type of exile
which can be interpreted as the subject of the poem turning away from death in hopes that they can
flee from the inescapable finality of death.
Throughout his poetry, Crichton Smith uses exile to indicate what appears to be a gap between a
fantasy and a reality. His piece, 'The TV' effectively highlights the idea of technology disrupting the
general human values which had been in place in his tight–knitted community. The emotive
language and intricate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His use of George Berkeley, an 18th century philosopher, who said that 'the world was to be
understood as just an idea in the mind of God.' The word choice and context surrounding "nothing"
suggests that there is nothing of more importance than the world in which technology creates. This
continues on to imply that 'the TV' has become just as important as, or even more important than,
God – that the television has evolved into something that mankind look upon as on par with god –
who in small communities like the one Crichton Smith grew up in – who was the most important
and significant

Cybersecurity Goal

  • 1. Cybersecurity Goal I came to Kaplan with one objective, to finish my long waited IT Bachelor's degree and advance further in my career. At first, my goal was to go for the Cybersecurity program, but due to cost and time, I decided to just finish my IT degree then specialized in Security afterwards by taking certification classes after I finish my degree. There are many opportunities after I get my degree, the door will be right open to explore other things and specialized in a field I desire to enter. I do have some weakness I need to work on it, such as scripting, server, and a more depth in networking. With the classes from Kaplan and some more reading on my own on the subject, I intend to get better when is needed. Strong side, I would say is my analytical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It sounds shallow, but it is what it is and what I'm able to do right now. At work, things are different, I do work well as part of a team, but in school, and especially online, it is difficult to accomplish that. When I struggle with a subject, I do reach out to the professor, do my own search online, get help from someone I believe might know the answer, and try resolving myself. I have never paid for a tutor or used the tutoring help, haven't needed yet, but if needed, I don't have a problem doing at all. As I mentioned earlier, my plan, my goal after I finish my degree with Kaplan is to purse more knowledge, certifications, and a career in Cybersecurity. It is my passion and definitely what I want to do. It is a sort of game that fascinates me. If you are passion about something and want to have a career you really love, then you need to go for it, and my goal, my plan is to go for it. I do plan to take the CCNA certification, Security + Certification then the CCNA Security Certification as well, and from there, find out what else is needed. • 3. Human Nature Summary An author, introduced as a phycologist has revealed that human nature is unique and are easily influenced by each other which help them to shape and built social practices, to create different ambience to follow belief as well as to have suggestibility which can induce a normal person. Human beings are not only effected by other's behaviour but also by all those social sciences which have been observed and been practised. As a citizen, an individual should focus on their study to show themselves as the best human being from their role on the society and their contribution for the place where they live in. In this story, an author has also explained about his observation done between college students. The college students were asked to give their opinions on various matter like choices which, resulted with argumentative situation opposing to their own opinions, many subjects apparently shifted their judgments in the direction of the views of majority or experts. The sheer weight of number or authority sufficed to change opinion, even when no arguments for the opinions themselves were provided. There is some reason to wonder whether it was not the investigation who, in their enthusiasm for a theory, were suggestible and whether the seemingly gullible subjects were not providing answers which they thought were good subjects to discuss. The author describes a series of experiment which have not only confirmed the finding that group pressure can shape opinion, but also raised ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Subject Matter Jurisdiction In Criminal Justice Define "Jurisdiction." According to dictionary.com, jurisdiction is "the right, power, or authority to administer justice by hearing and determining controversies" (dictionary.com, n.d.). An example of jurisdiction would be the courts of limited jurisdiction which is where small cases and criminal disputes that involves small amounts of money is decided. Also, subject–matter jurisdiction and in personam jurisdiction are another type of jurisdiction. According to our textbook, subject–matter jurisdiction is "a court's power to decide the type of dispute involved in the case" (Mallory et al, 2016). In personam jurisdiction is "based on residence, location, or activities of the defendant" (Mallory et al, 2016). So, a state court would have in personam jurisdiction over a defendant who are citizens of the state, who consents to court's authority or who are within states borders when the process is served on them (Mallory et al, 2016). On what bases could a private dispute be decided in Federal Court? A private dispute can be decided in Federal Court if the "case is between citizens of different states and if the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000" (Mallory et al, 2016). For example, if I met someone who was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the plaintiff enforces the judgement, they will obtain a "writ of execution which enables the sheriff or federal marshal to seize designated property of the defendant and sell it at a judicial sale to help satisfy the judgement" (Mallory et al., 2016). Then, a judgement winner would use a procedure known as garnishment to seize the defendant property, money, and wages to give to a third party like the bank or employer. According to our textbook, it states that the U.S. Constitution must give "full faith and credit to the judgment of the state in which the plaintiff originally sued" (Mallory et al., ... • 7. The Hidden Recesses Of The Mind He that has eyes to see and ears to hear may convince himself that no mortal can keep a secret. If his lips are silent, he chatters with his fingertips; betrayal oozes out of him at every pore. And thus the task of making conscious the most hidden recesses of the mind is one which it is quite possible to accomplish. – Sigmund Freud, Dora:An Analysis of a Case of Hysteria All human writing contains hidden pieces of the unconscious mind buried within layers of symbols and psychological defenses. When one writes something, all previous experiences, feelings, and thoughts are brought together to form whatever the person wishes to convey. Hidden emotions and feelings that are being suppressed by psychological defences are often expressed unconsciously revealing the speaker 's hidden secrets. Logan LeBlanc's squibs contain multiple different psychological defences, but Intellectualization and escapism appear the most often; they are usually used together in his writing. Almost every time a very personal topic comes up in one of LeBlanc's logical trains of thought, the conversation suddenly changes to either something that he deems happy or acceptable, or he starts stating facts about one topic or another. One example is when he says "This would mean that even though most people are strangers, they are still family in a way" after talking about the relationship between family and strangers in squib number one. After saying this, he immediately escapes his thoughts and changes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. My Field Experience At S Bryan Jennings Elementary My field experience took place at S Bryan Jennings Elementary in Mrs.Reid 's second grade classroom for a little over a month. During my time within the classroom I observed the subjects: reading, mathematics, and phonics, science, and writing. I also observed a teacher planning period. When I was within the classroom I observed the techniques the teacher used in the subjects, the programs used, the children's abilities with the subject and/or topic, the students struggles within the subject and/or topic, the teachers struggles with students who did not understand, and the stereotypes that applied and/or did not apply to the classroom, teacher, and students. Within this dissertation, I will describe and focus on these observations in a more specific way following with observed examples. Mrs. Reid has 16 students consisting of five females and eleven males. One of the five females was a minority; she was Asian. Five of the eleven males were also minority decent, such as oriental, African American, ect. On a side note, within the second grade class there was also Hattian decent students. Five of the eleven males left at some point during the week for more specific teachings to their ability, such ESE, ELOS, or gifted; the same five minority males were NOT the same five that left during the week. Only one of the five males that left during the week was for gifted; he was Caucasian. The other four that left were of the minority. None of the four were Asian. My first subject ... • 11. A Study On Student 's Abilities Design a Study Teachers who have higher expectations of their student's abilities will have a higher academic achievement as compared to teachers who have low expectations of their students abilities. In this study, the independent variable is the expectation of the teachers on their student's abilities, and the dependent variable is the student achievements based upon the teacher expectations. The achievements can be measured by monitoring classrooms in a high school setting for English class for one year, with some classes having a teacher with high expectations, and other classes having a teacher with low expectations. The achievements would be measured by a preliminary assessment, test results, quarterly reports, and an end of year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first limitation I came across was that the students themselves can determine their academic achievements. For example they could be really good students who try there hardest no matter what or there could be bad students who do not care if you have high expectations or not. Secondly, the subject at hand can also have a big influence. In this case the subject is English because it is a requirement class. Therefore if the student enjoys english they will do very well and achieve good things because they enjoy learning about the subject. But if the student does not enjoy english they will not care to do their best on their work and will do the minimum to just pass the class. Lastly, the atmosphere they are in is also another thing that can influence the student. If they are in an atmosphere where the whole class acts up and does not do their work they will follow in those footsteps. However if they are surrounded by a mixture of people who do their work or do not do their work they will choose to do what they think is best. Fear and Affiliation In a previous study, a researcher decided to test if people who experience fear prefer to be alone or with other people. In this study, the participants were all women and were randomly assigned to either condition– the "fear" condition and the "no fear" condition. The dependent variable being the women and how their emotions and choice to stay together or alone will be measured, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Tres Riches Heures Of Jean Duc De Berry 'AndPoet On A... To begin, the two paintings have in common is the obvious aspects of the settings being outside. Also, they both show sign of civilization with people being the subject and having some sort of housing in the works. "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" and "Poet on a Mountain Top", also have some similarities in their brush work, there is amazing in the nature and settings of these two paintings. Finally, both works have some type of inscription on them. These two pieces do not have much in common aside from a few things, their contrasts will be up for discussion next. The first difference spotted between these two is that "Poet on a Mountain Top", is in black and white, and "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" is painted in color. Aside from that, "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry", is part of a prayer book and "Poet on a Mountain Top" is a literati painting, meaning that it was not painted for money but was just meant for someone else to have. Next, "Poet on a Mountain Top" has a scholar in the picture finding the spirit in nature, and, "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" expresses what it is like to a peasant in the winter. Also, "Poet on a Mountain Top" has a poem inscribed on it, while, "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" has a zodiac calendar inscribed on the top. In, "February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry" it gives more of a depressing feel with the peasants losing their crops ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are more compact and less explicit than finite clauses. They are not marked for tense and modality, and they frequently lack an explicit subject and subordinator. (17): I don't know what to write about. 3.1.1 Types of non–finite clauses 1– Bare infinitive Bare infinitive is the base form of the verb without to, this form of nonfinite clause has no tense. The bare infinitive in general is very limited because it mostly occurs after verbs of causation, perception and modal auxiliary. (18): I saw Jim leave. (See is a verb of perception) (19): I can tell the truth. (Telling the truth is what occurs after modal auxiliary. Bare infinitive in this case, functions as the complement of a verb, that is , it adds more information to make the main verb understandable. (Biber, Johansson, Leech, Conrad, & Finegan, 1999). 2– Infinitive clauses Uninflected infinitive forms which comprise simply the base or stem of the verb with no added inflection (such forms are frequently used after the so–called infinitive particle to) Infinitive clauses can have a range of syntactic roles a– subject (20): The best thing would be for you to tell everybody. b– without subject (21): The best thing would be to tell everybody. c– Direct object (22): He upset you very much, and I hate to see that. • 41. The Discursive View Of Identity In alignment with one of the key points from the previous section, which denies the integral and unified account of identity, this section elaborates the discursive view of identity. In order to understand this shift in conceptualising identity, we will revisit the simple definition of identity from Longman dictionary (section 9.1.1). The later part of this definition, specifically, the second key phrase "different from other people" brings about the discussion of the discursive approach to identity. Departing from the essentialist viewpoint of identity as a stable core of self, later literatures have advocated a close relation between the processes of intersubjectivity and the crucial role of 'the others' in identity construction (Hall, 2000). As a nature of human beings, the process of identification is seen as a universal need to belong to a group, to reflect on others, thus define themselves and others. In other words, it is to say that identity is constructed through 'difference' and experienced by contrast (Benveniste, 2000). Specifically, "[i]n common sense language, identification is constructed on the back of recognition of some common origin or shared characteristics with another person or group, or with an ideal, and with the natural closure of solidarity and allegiance established on this foundation" (Hall, 2000:16). Analysis Of Sarah Polley's Stories We Tell At the beginning of Sarah Polley's 2013 Stories We Tell, a quote by Margret Atwood appears and states that, "In the end, we'll all become stories" (Polley). This quote leads to the main message of the film involving storytelling and the profound significance it carries in life. As memories form, we reflect on them and the stories that accumulate from those memories begin to define us. The film begins with Polley presenting her storytellers, who are all part of the family. She simply asks her family to tell the story, from the beginning, of her mother Diane. They have their own way of disclosing facts about Diane, but it's how each person uniquely tells the story that is most interesting. Whether filled with pleasure, sorrow, or regret, each subject individually describes Diane's life. This reveals that how one is remembered or even currently portrayed is established through the memories of others, mysteries and all. Through the use of intimate interviews of her family members, Polley successfully investigates the reconstruction of her mother's existence. The memories and stories families collectively tell, even if they are unclear, are what define the truth. Each person's honesty reveals his or her perspective on the story of Diane. The film uncovers details of the marriage of Sarah's dad Michael and mom Diane. Each sibling describes Diane as exciting and Michael as more mellow. Active Voice Voice: In simple words, Voice (in other words (but rarely said) is also called, diathesis) is a term that describes the relation between an action (verb) taken by the subject, the subject (the one who performs the action) and the object (the thing being acted upon). Active Voice: Active voice is most commonly used verb. Active voice is where; the subject is the one who performs an action (verb), while object is the thing being acted upon. When the subject performs an action, the verb is in Active voice. For example: The mouse ate the cheese. Here, the mouse is the subject, ate is the action (verb) and cheese is the object. Since the subject is doing an action, we say that the verb is in active voice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He dropped the book in the lake. Uses of the Active Voice: Active sentences are more direct (This proves that the subject admits that he was the one who did the act) and engaging for the reader. The sentences are shorter and allow you to express an authoritative tone. And they are also often less confusing and ambiguous. Passive Voice: Passive voice is where; the object is suspected to have done an action (verb) and the subject is the thing being performed on. When the subject is the target for an action, then the verb is in Passive voice. For example: The cheese was eaten by the mouse. Here, the cheese is the subject, eaten is the passive verb and mouse is the object. Since the subject is the one being suspected for the action, we say that the verb is in the passive voice.

It is also tied to the concession which makes it come off as an ambiguous phrase. The "why" from the concession is missing because of this. Neltner's reasoning also comes off as a potential deceptive statistic which makes also makes it an ambiguous phrase. The reader is not sure whether there is a mean, median, or mode because the statement is not in depth making it appear to be deceptive. Experiment 1 Experiment 1 is a partial–conceptual replication of Collins and Quillian's (1969) study on the hierarchy network model for the organization of semantic memory. The purpose of experiment 1 was to test Collins and Quillian's hypothesis stating that response time for category searching should be slower as a function of an increasing number of levels separating a category subject and it's predicate term on the semantic hierarchy model. We use the same basic procedure as Collins and Quillian's experiment, except that we utilize a single category for predicate terms as opposed to multiple categories at level 2 of the semantic hierarchy model. I sat there quietly just staring at my newest test subjects face that was motionless except for the slow and shallow breaths. I just finished tying him up by suspending him from his under arms, torso, and feet. I wondered if he knew what he was about to endure. I was starting to grow impatient waiting for him to wake up. At the moment he was taking a chloroform nap. I had to use it on him because with out it he could cause damage to me, or himself in a fury or rage mostly typical in males. Hypothesis : once the muscle is removed I suspect that blood loss might be an obstacle. But I guess that the subject will be dead in about 48 hours I was sure tonight my test subject would be able to answer my question. It had been almost a week since I thought of this question and my curiosity was completely eating me from the inside out like pests would eat an animal carcass that's been left in the smoldering sun for days. I lived in a very secluded area where I had no neighbors and rarely anyone passed by so my subject could scream as loud and as much as he wanted to and no one would hear him. I heard a barely audible groan in the next room and all the sudden I couldn't handle my excitement. "Ughhh... Wha–?.. What the hell?!" Looking down at his hands he started thrashing, as if it would help him. He looked straight at me with eyes that were wild and hateful. I only projected a grin. "YOU. Why am I here??" So typical. "Can't you ask something different", I asked between uncontrollable giggles. Straightening my face and clearing my throat I simply said, "I have a question, could you help me answer it? • 58. Pre-Disciplinary Communication Reflection On August 31, 2017 I spoke with Officer Burns via telephone in regards to his pending discipline and some concerns that had been brought to my attention by fellow officers and supervisors. The first portion of the conversation centered on his pending discipline and determining a date that would be acceptable for him to attend a pre–disciplinary hearing with Captain Berger to discuss the alleged violations. During this conversation I explained the severity of the violations and that based upon the number of violations within the past twelve months he will subject to the progressive discipline policy. It was stressed to Officer Burns that he could also be subject to termination in the future if his performance did not improve and he committed another violation. Officer Burns acknowledged that he understood the severity of the violations and acknowledged that he was aware of the progressive discipline policy of the city. After discussing the policy violations and determining an acceptable date for the pre–disciplinary hearing, I segued to the topic of the performance concerns that were brought to my attention. The first instance I spoke with Officer Burns about was the concerns that were brought up by Sgt. Adam Smotrich. Sgt. Smotrich detailed in a message to me that while on a call with Officer Burns involving an individual experiencing an emotional crisis and wielding a metal pipe, he became increasingly concerned that Officer Burns would be unable to defend himself. The reason for this concern was based upon the perceived physical limitations demonstrated by Officer Burns on the call. Sgt. Smotrich noted a noticeable limp and lack of ability to move laterally or backwards in a reasonably quick manner. This caused Sgt. Smotrich concern because he did not want Officer Burns to fall and be unable to defend himself if the subject advanced quickly while wielding a pipe. Sgt. Smotrich indicated he felt that Officer Burns would have been unable to adequately defend himself or assist him if he needed it. Sgt. Smotrich also noticed that after Officer Burns handcuffed the subject who was on the ground in a prone position, he labored to successfully get up without assistance. Sgt. Smotrich felt it ... When we change our attitude or behavior based on those around us, we are conforming to their behavior. When we obey what we are told, by what we perceive to be an authority figure, we are being obedient. Conformity and obedience can have positive or negative results on our lives, depending on the situation and the individuals involved. Symbolic interactions are not all the same theoretically. The wrong answer was given by the confederates to see if the subject would conform or stand alone. This could be the participant's' workplace or a child's home. Another form of observation that was also conducted was covert observations is an empirical research were the participants don't know when they are being observed. • 66. Trace History Of Counseling Essay 1. Trace the history of counseling profession in India? Introduction The concept of counseling is not of a recent one. That said, it must be noted that the accepted system and structures within it have digressed, though marginally, from traditional dialecticism between the people in the society. Guidance and Counseling is a persistent phenomenon present in every cultural and social setting; we seek counseling from elders, parents, teachers and other members in the family or the community. The significance of it is clearly understood in terms of its indispensability towards the growth and transitions of every individual for their wellbeing. The precept of counseling and guidance itself is also rooted very deeply in the doctrines of every religion. Thus in the same way, the conduct and the belief system of every person is directly or indirectly directed by our faith and conviction towards religion. Scholars have propounded many definitions to the understanding of the term counseling or guidance, some of which are as given below. Definition The term guidance and counseling have been loosely or interchangeably used. According to, Proctor. "Guidance is a process through which an individual or group of individual are helped to make necessary adjustment to the environment– inside or outside the school." Kitson. • 72. Personal Experience: Subjects in Which I Have Excelled Essay The subjects I excel in are math and science. Every since I was adolescent, I have always had a keen sense of numbers. This undoubtedly helped a lot with the variety of science classes that utilize math skills. Science, though, is, without a doubt, the subject I excel in the most, and I have my extraordinary great–grandmother to thank for that. Around when I was eight, I found out my great– grandmother had cancer which was gradually making her health decline. Eventually the cancer had spread to her legs and within a time span of a year, she had become a double amputee. In my mind, I knew this sudden dream to become an anesthesiologist was far–fetched, but, in my heart, I believed this was the key to helping my great–grandmother get better. Years later, now older and wiser, I realize the specifics of the career I have chosen and how it won't benefit my great–grandmother as much as I had hoped it would have. • 77. The Process Of Conducting Research Procedure The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I– search question. The I– search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be; what is the definition of family in today's society? There are many methods of investigation that can be used to answer this question, but I have limited it to eight methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give me in depth information about my purposed I search question. The first method of investigation for my I– search project that would best help me gather information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The interview process is beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and comprehensive information. The interviews will consist of ordinary people in todays, society both younger and older the young will be aged from four to thirty and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to gain answers to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this case family. The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals because family is a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written about over many years. Many psychologists have written about what defines a family and how it has changed over time. These Journals will help me show that the definition is outdated and how it should be ... • 81. The Tv Crichton Smith THE TV Iain Crichton Smith, a Scottish poet, acclaimed for his focus on the ever–present theme of geographical exile. Through his work, he can be seen to describe the process of leaving home – particularly in a rural place similar to the island in which he grew up in. However, his use of exile in many different forms can be found in a variety of Crichton Smith's poetry, resulting in what can be analysed as a deeper and more meaningful sense of the idea of exile. He effectively explores the cultural and religious background behind those who ultimately distance themselves from the reality of the modern–day world he was living in. He explores the idea of death as a final type of exile which can be interpreted as the subject of the poem turning away from death in hopes that they can flee from the inescapable finality of death. Throughout his poetry, Crichton Smith uses exile to indicate what appears to be a gap between a fantasy and a reality. His piece, 'The TV' effectively highlights the idea of technology disrupting the general human values which had been in place in his tight–knitted community. The emotive language and intricate ...
