Incoming and Outgoing Shipments in 1 STEP Using Odoo 17
Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
1.
2. Banner used
to plug more
content.
Barcode, date, issue number
and price.
Price is tiny so as not to draw
attention to it, this doesn’t
advertise the price and
therefore focuses more on the
magazine itself rather than the
price which is normally quite
expensive.
Group photo not all looking at
the camera shows how close and
shows them as a tight knit group.
Mise on scene, shows Kings of
Leon to be a happy , friendly
group
Mast head at top left of
magazine.
Usually left side third but
not for this example.
Masthead follows left hand
side third rule.
Three main colours, (red,
black and white) creates a
house style and
consistency
Colours stand out.
Layering keeps
attention to what's
important.
Faces never covered, attracts
customer. Most important part of
the front cover.
Masthead layered over because its easily recognisable so
doesn’t require as much attention.
Image of kings of Leon relates
to main feature of the
magazine.
Range of fonts and font sizes,
shows what's important, used as
a differentiation tool.
Exclamation use
emphasises the
words.

exciting part of the interview
/story/song.
Special word use to make it
seem like features are special
to only this magazine.
3. The masthead is at the top
left of the front cover to
make sure it stands out to
the audience and is easily
recognised for branding.
I decided to use layers to
help with the
advertisement of the
content of the magazine.
This keeps attention to
important content of the
magazine, persuading the
target audience to buy the
magazine.
I stuck to the left hand side
third rule by having the
image positioned towards
the right of the magazine to
draw attention to the text
and therefore the content
of the music magazine.
The main image relates to the
main features of the magazine,
and for this reason it is the
biggest thing on the front cover
to draw attention to the
magazine.
-The face isn't covered over
-Laid back/relaxed shot
I decided to plug artists across
the top to help make it more
gender inclusive, and to help
persuade the audience to
purchase the magazine.
The use of the banner plugs
extra content, showing the
magazine to be full and busy.
By using a range of fonts
and font sizes I made the
front cover look more
appealing making it look
better for the target
audience.
I used three main colours
as a colour scheme (red,
black and white) which
helps to create a house
style, and consistency
when continued
throughout the magazine.

always be there

on the contents page to
create a house style and
to help the magazine to

Used ‘features’ like Q

front cover.
Three colour consistency
to help create a house
style and to help the

smoothly.
Smaller image not as
important but helps to
advertise further content
in the magazine.

8. •Masthead used to give an identity and for branding, to help with the branding the
masthead is continued through the magazine to make it seem consistent.
•Left hand third rule used to keep my masthead and advertising text on the left side of
the front cover. However Q magazine doesn’t particularly follow this convention with
only the masthead being to the left hand side, this is because they are more concerned
with advertising the main piece of the magazine
•the face of my artist wasn’t covered in order to make the images stand out and to
attract the potential customer to the magazine on the front cover and then to a
particular article on the contents page or double page spread.
•layering on my front cover to keep attention to what’s important as well as to make
my front cover look more interesting and make it appear busy, in a similar way to the
way layering is used on a Q front cover.
•3 main colours for the colour scheme (black red and white) - I did use some grey to
enhance the magazine, which made it look more professional
•different fonts on my front cover as a differentiation tool and to help make certain
parts stand out as well as to make the magazine appear more entertaining.
• I chose to not use a pull quote on my front cover in order to ensure that it didn’t
appear to full or busy, and to keep everything clear and easy to read, unlike the Q
magazine front cover which uses a pull quote to help advertise.
9. •left hand third rule to my contents page where I kept my text to the left
third because people read from left to right making the text more important
than the images on the contents page(used by Q and mojo)
•kept the text on my contents page in a column structure to give it order and
to make it easy to navigate; this helped the contents page look more
professional as well as conventional as well as it being a familiar convention
for the audience.
•numbering images on the contents page with the page number that they
refer to, in order to aid navigation for the reader.
•short bio on each article to help the potential reader to get to what they are
most interested in by advertising the contents of the magazine. (Q and mojo)
•I labelled the contents page with ‘contents’ and also applied the date of the
issue near to the top of the contents page in a similar style to the Q
magazine
• I continued this use of colours throughout the magazine to create style and
consistency which would help the magazine to flow.
