2. • In peak summers, when temperature tends to rise, the cooling pads get
dried up and starts giving hot and/or humid air due to the bleezing heat
for the cooler to throw out.
• Instead of cooling this hot air, cooler helps the temperature to rise.
• Aim of the project
• To reduce hot and/or humid air.
Introduction
3. Here we are trying to keep the water inside the tank of the cooler remain
cool for a longer period of time using some electronic device.
This will in turn keep the humidity low inside the room, thus keeping the
room much cooler and for longer period of time.
Explained description of the system is given in the next slide.
Solution
4. Methodology
COOLER & ITS COMPONENT:
Cooler blows out the air inside the tank (cooled down) into the
atmosphere.
Cooler Body
It acts as a water tank and also provides housing
for all the equipments (i.e. motor, fan, cooling pad
etc). It also provides mechanical strength.
5. Cooling Pads
Cooling pads have a direct impact on the cooling of an
air cooler. They absorb water and allow air to flow
through them to cool it.
Motor
It blows out the cool air into the atmosphere (i.e. the
room).
6. Pump
The pump will run the water through the cooling pads, allowing them
to soak the water beforehand. This helps the cooler to cool the air as
soon as you turn it on.
Peltier
• A Peltier Module is an electronic component that helps to counter
Thermal Issues in a Circuit.
• There are two ceramic plates separated by semiconductor pellets,
when current flows through the semiconductor pellet, one Plate
dissipates heat and the other absorbs heat.
• Model number: TEC1-12706
• Voltage : 12V
• VMax (V) : 15.4V
• IMax (A) : 6A
• QMax (W) : 92W
• Internal resistance: 1.98 Ohm +/- 10%
• Dimensions : 40mm x 40mm x 3.6mm
7. Water Block
Water blocks are used to transfer heat from the source into the liquid
that flows through the water block.
Heat Sink
A heat sink will sap the heat from the Peltier surface and keep it
functioning and undamaged.
Cooling Fan (12V, 0.23Amp)
In addition to the Heat Sink one can even use a cooling fan to keep the
Peltier from overheating,
8. DC Source (SMPS) (12V,15Amp)
A SMPS power supply transfers power from a source — usually
an AC outlet — to a DC device.
