Simeon and the author decided to cast themselves in the lead roles for their movie opening because they have previous acting experience performing together in drama class, which they thought would translate well on camera. They originally asked a classmate, Nesserine, to play the female role because of her drama experience, but scheduling conflicts prevented her from participating. They then asked Verona, who also did drama and was a very good actress, and she agreed and performed well. The author decided to do the voiceover because they felt they had a clear voice that would help the audience understand the narration and they were confident in their acting and voiceover abilities.

1. Casting
For our acting roles Simeon and I decided that as we both do drama together
and enjoy acting we would be involved in the production of our movie
opening. We havedone acting together before so we thought it would come
out on camera better as we haveacting experience in a group together. We
also needed a female role, we didn’t know who to ask but we wanted someone
that enjoys acting as if you enjoy something you performbetter whilstdoing it.
At first wedecided to ask Nesserine to be our female role, this was because
she is also in our drama class and would be a good fit in our film opening. At
firstshe agreed however wecouldn’t film together as someone was always
busy, weended up asking Verona instead. She also does drama and is a very
good actress so it was still good on camera. She said that shewould be happy
to be a part of our film opening and shedid very well, weare all actors and all
enjoy acting so it turned out much better on camera.
I decided to do the voiceover as I thoughtI have a clear and precise voice for
the audience to hear and understand each and every word I say. I’mconfident
at acting and using my voice in things like voiceovers too so that helped me
stay calm and keep a clear voice throughoutthe voiceover and film opening.
