2. Titles pan along and pan apart, this gets the audiences attention as the colourful titles
are moving across the screen quickly, this creates excitement for the audience which
sets the scene for the rest of the film. Wide shots are used when an explosion is on
screen so the audience get can the full effect of the explosion. Panning and tracking
shots are used in the tile sequence. The opening scene also used close ups to show
the characters faces a medium close up and mid shots so you can see the characters
body language.

3. The first scene of the film starts off with a black background, once this scene passes
music starts playing and bright colours are used, this gives the effect that the film has
just burst into life and connotes that the film will be exciting. The colours red and blue
are used frequently in the opening, this matches well with the two main characters
because they are police officers and red blue match the siren colour. One of the shots
of the sequence is a woman wearing bright red lipstick which can represent danger
and that a femme fatal may be used in the film as a distraction.
4. This film opening uses fast pace editing as we see multiple clips in a quick succession,
this is a key convention in action films. This will appeal to the audience as it will keep
them entertained because the clips are changing every few seconds so the audience
wont get bored and with the fast paced music the audience adrenaline will be
pumping and keep them focused on the film. As the tempo of the song speeds up the
sequence slows down as the titles are appearing on screen. The shots involved in
these clips are used for a comedy effect as they range from explosions to rainbow and
a lot of stuff in-between. When Rob Riggle’s name appears on the screen the music
changes to dub step and a hypnotic image is used this creates the feeling of being high
on drugs, which also suggests that drugs are being a part of the film. The typography
seems as if it’s present in the scene as it is being affected by the actions taking place.
For example when a gun is fired the bullet hits the title and takes a chunk out of it as
you can see in the image below
5. This film suggests that this film is an action comedy film; this is shown through a various clips
that are linked to having fun, police work and money. The first thing the audience see is ‘THE
END’ this shows that the film is going to be funny and immature. Another clip of the opening is
someone taking drugs which forebodes that drugs will be involved in this film. The audience can
tell that there is going to be immaturity in this film as when someone is writing up an
investigation they has wrote ‘horse cock’, moreover with the scene where you can see police
lights flashing the audience can interpret that this film is about immature cops that like to have
fun and are going to solve a drug related case. The opening consists of lots of explosions and
gunshots which tells the audience that the film is going to be an action film. One of the short
clips just shows a white bird flying this connotes the random stuff that will be in the film as it
has no relevance to anything. Females are shown with revealing clothing this shows the
audience that women may been a main attraction and may be a distraction in the film.
6. The music is party like music it is upbeat and has a quick tempo and this represents
the stereotype that teenagers like to party, and have fun. The target audience for this
film would be teenagers so they use this type of music so the audience can engage
more as the target audience for the music would also be teenagers. The music starts
to play after an explosion this happens so the audience feel like the movie is bursting
into life. The music playing also uses the word jump which links with the title of the
film 21 jump street.
