1. Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
Black andwhite shortfilm abouta boy who finds a
homelessgirl in his garden, developsrelationship
with her.
Why have youdecided to makeit? I chose tomake a film as I feel it is where my best
work is at. I alsowanted to dosomethingthat
lookedand felt beautiful in terms of story.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
I havealways wanted to makea low (non) budget
indie movie, specifically one that appealsto
teenagers. I find it as a satisfyingway to express
my creativity.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
I will be using 1:66.6 aspectratio, as usedin the
recent Netflix best picture nominee ‘Marriage
Story’. I’llbe using it because it added anold
fashionedtone, feel to marriage story andI want
it to add anold fashioned feel to my movie, which
will be made even more possiblewith the useof
the black and white filter throughoutthefilm. The
idea of a boy bringinga homelessgirl intohis
houseis influenced from Netflix’s ‘Stranger
Things’ seasonone, where Finn Wolfhard’s‘Mike’
is hiding Milly Bobby Browns‘Eleven’ in his
basementwithouthis parents knowing.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
My main character will be autistic andwill be at a
confusingtime in his life where he feels alone,
due to being different and different from
everyoneelse.
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
The film will have a very old fashionedindie feel
to it, thiswill be because of the black andwhite
filter and 1:66.6 aspectratiothat will makeit look
like anold movie. I will use a lot of ‘oneshot
takes’. The film mighthave a dull moodbutthere
will be mild jokesplaced here andthere to
brightenup the moodandmake more enjoyable
to watch.
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
It is always a moodthatI have wanted to
achieve/create as it is alwaysa moodI like to see
in a movie andI think it will reflect the moodof
how many teens are feeling.
