1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary
texts?

2. I believe there is some strong links between my main product and the ancillary
texts,. My teaser trailer has text transitions that have black backgrounds and
red text, my Film poster uses red text for the title at the top ‘Sinister’, my
Magazine cover uses a colour scheme of red and white.
All three of my products have a strong link using the colour red, I choose the
colour as it helps to put across the genre it adds a scary atmosphere. Also I use
red mainly on the important texts as it is an ‘alarming’ colour, it grabs your
attention. I think to make this link stronger I should have used the same text
for the teaser trailer and film poster.

3. A very important link is my main character, he is in all three products(my main product
and the ancillary texts). To make the link strong between the three I tried to capture
him in the same location and costumes so it is obvious and not confusing for the
audience. The location is in a subway, and all three products have this link of the
location and it is a clear background so audiences can notice this link.

4. ‘Sinister’ the name of the film links the three as well, because the name should be
promoted and all three task advertise the name.
When making the products I new I had to make the name clear and distinctive, by
having the name bold and clear on these products it helps the audience to remember
the name and advertise it. If I was to make the link stronger I’d make all the fonts the
same so people will realise the font being the same and realise the name by the
distinctive font itself.

5. My film poster and teaser trailer have a link between the dark atmosphere they both
give, as this is a horror movie it is important to show the audience the right
atmosphere. My teaser trailer has dark locations and my film poster is aimed to be a
viewpoint of someone chasing the main character these two link up well to put a
frightening atmosphere across. My magazine gives off a frightening atmosphere by the
main image, but I would say the Film poster and teaser trailer are better linked.

6. Overall I believe all three of my products link and come together really well. One of the
main links is the main character as audience will be quicker to recognise the character
then text.
