TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
2. • During construction of the product the technologies I have learnt are;
• - Adobe Premier Pro
• - Cameras
• - Weebly
• - Adobe Firework
• - YouTube
• - Slideshare
3. • One of the main technologies I have learnt during the construction of my product is ‘Adobe
Premier Pro’; this is an editing software which allowed me to put my clips together and alter the
clips for e.g. cuttings some scenes and putting clips in the correct order so that they flow
correctly like a film should be rather than it being spread out and separate. Also one of the
features from the editing software I learnt was ‘cinematic bars’ this is so that it enhances the
feel of the product as it looks more cinematic and professional. I also learnt how to add audio
into the product, as well as making sure that the audio is appropriate for the product and goes
with the flow of the scenes. I even used sound effects which I had sourced from copyright free
sources. I used a gunshot sound; this made the scene more intense for the audience as it
makes the product seem more realistic. However I also used a fade between certain shots to
help with the build-up of the scene. This also made the product look more professional.
• I also learnt how to add text on to the clips so it would appear during the scenes. After pressing
‘insert text’ I decide on the position of the text as this was very important because the
positioning of their titles is meant to be out of the way of the actual scene this is so that the
audience doesn’t lose focus of what is going on in the product. I also learnt about the different
font I could use and which particular font would suit my product. For e.g. I used bold capital font
to make my titles stand out, which links to my product as it is from the genre action.
4. • Another piece of technology that I have used and learnt from in the producing of my
opening sequence is the camera. I had to learn about the different camera angles which
would be needed to show power as in my product I had to show that the assassin was
more powerful than the victim therefore I used a high angle shot. Also during the
production of my product I realised that it is vital to hold the camera steady or the shots
come out shaky which doesn’t look very professional. Also the convergence of cameras
has affected the overall product. As firstly cameras used to record in black and white
whereas now there are digital cameras which come with colour. The quality has also
improved as cameras now come in 4k quality which makes the image look a lot sharper
and the videos being recorded in high definition. Sound was also an issue as it wasn’t
picking up the dialogue from the victim therefore I had to change some of the shots so
that the audio could be heard.
5. • Another piece of software I have learnt to use is Weebly. This software was what I used to
create my own website in which I would display all my work. This website is good because
it is easy to use, as well as simple because of the layout and how easy it is to enter
different types of information for e.g. to insert a image all you have to is drag the icon
from the left. This also makes it easy for my audience to view my work as well as
understand it as my work is presented in different formats. Weebly is also a professional
way to present my work.
• Another piece of technology that I have learnt how to use in the construction of my
product is Adobe Fireworks. I have used this to create the design of my production name
and show how it will be presented and set out. One of the tools I used was ‘text tool’ this
allowed me to enter text onto the page. The ‘text tool’ also allowed me to choose the font
of the text as well as the size of the text. I also used the vector ‘line tool’ to make a line
between the logo and the text this made it look more professional and neat. I also used
the vector tool ‘rectangle tool’ this was to enhance the look of my logo as I used this so
that I could make the logo look like real pixels as I had to draw individual squares for the
initials.
6. • YouTube was also another technology that I learnt from the construction of my product.
However I used ‘YouTube’ because it allowed me to upload my title and opening
sequence to the internet so that people could view it. Furthermore with ‘YouTube’ also
allowed me to embed the video on to my Weebly as YouTube gives you the embed code
for each video you upload so that it can be viewed on your website.
• The final technology I learnt to use was ‘Slideshare’. Slideshare allowed me to change the
format of my information as Slideshare allows you to put you work into a presentation. I
also used this because it allowed me to embed the presentation on to my weebly. Making
it look more professional and neat.
