2. Introduction
During my period of constructing my media product, I have learnt the
process and methods of using many different technological devices in
order to produce a media product worthy of professional standard.
3. Blogger
One of the key tools we have used to publish and display our
coursework is a website called “Blogger”. Where we have shown how
we’ve done planning, filming and editing all in different work posts
chronologically.
Neither I or Cameron had ever used Blogger before so at first, we
struggled with constantly using this site to document all of our work.
However we got to grips with it after a few weeks and we knew how to
work it thoroughly.
Using this constantly, we were able to develop our writing skills and it
was useful, as we could always refer back to planning and other
previous posts.
4. Camera
To film our film opening we used a Panasonic HDC-SD700 camcorder as
we knew that its a HD camera and it'll give us a very good and
professional quality. We also relished filming with this particular camera
because its light weight and very accessible. It was our first time filming
with one of theses camera so it took us both a while to get to grips with
how to operate it. However, as it was only a small and simple camera, it
was fairly easy.
5. Tripod
The tripod we used was a Velbon CX 888 tripod as
it was the right tripod for our camera’s to model.
We had previously had experience handling one
so once we worked out how it worked it was fine
to film with. Using this also meant that it made
our film look much more professional, as we could
always keep the camera completely still and
steady. It also meant that we could have different
shots, such as a high angle or a low angle (this is
because we could simply adjust the height of the
tripod.
6. Premier pro
Arguably the most important technological device
we used, whilst making our film opening was
Adobe Premier Pro, as this was the computer
program we used to edit our film. It enabled us to
cut clips down, change the speeds of them, alter
the sound, add music and change how the clips
looked. It was relatively easy to use and it gave us a
very professional look, as we knew that this
program had previously been used before in the
production of major films.
7. Live Type
Linking in with Premier pro, we used a program
called Live Type. This is commonly used for creating
titles and credits, which is precisely what we used
them for. It enabled us to choose between all of
their effective font types and choose the one most
fitting for our film. It also allowed to edit colours of
titles to make them more appropriate for our
genre, i.e red for blood.
