Panyee Football Club Determination
In the movie "Panyee Football Club", by TMB brand, the Panyee boys show determination.
Determination, determination is when you never give up no matter what and always finish the job.
The Panyee boys show their determination by building their own practice pitch to play on. Also,
when the villagers didn't support them, they continued to build the pitch and impressed the villagers.
The villagers were so impressed, that they eventually came around. Finally, they overcame many
obstacles in the semi–finals which almost led them to victory. The first example of the Panyee boy's
determination is when they built their own practice pitch to play on without any materials or help.
Some evidence for this is when one of the Panyee boys says "We figured we had to create our own
space". This is important because they had to actually build a flat, sturdy surface to play on all by
themselves. Another piece of evidence that proves my point is they had to find wood, nails,
hammers, fishing rafts, etc. to even start making it.The reason this proves my claim is that they had
to go around the village searching for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They continued to build the pitch and impressed the villagers so much that the villagers eventually
came around. One piece of evidence that the villagers didn't support them is when a villager says
"Ha ha ha! You won't become champions on that thing! Ha ha ha!". This supports my point because
laughter is sometimes a form of demeaning someone (or a group of people). It can be hard
sometimes to keep going when someone is demeaning you. Some evidence that shows the villagers
came around is when a villager says "You don't look like champions in those clothes! You'll look
better in these!"as the villager picks up a fresh new soccer shirt. This connects to my reason because
now they are supporting the boys by giving them encouragment and the vision to support their

How Mental Toughness Changed My Life
I love training and building up my physique. This is something I have made a huge part of my life
the past 5 years and I don't ever see myself stopping. I've found a passion that makes me happy, feel
good, want to work harder in every aspect of life, but most importantly it has taught me mental
toughness. A good majority of you know that I lost my father to a car accident eight years ago. For
those of you that don't know, this was a huge loss for my family and I. This tragedy left us confused
with what the future had in store for us. That day we lost our father was a day we lost a piece of our
family and we knew it would never be repaired. Though I could have fallen between the cracks and
said "F*%K life!" I went the opposite way and took my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being mentally tougher can help carry over all the work you put in to improve your body and
strength. More importantly, being mentally tough can help improve your quality of life because it
teaches you to overcome adverse situations. Quite frankly, that's what life is good at, creating
adverse dilemmas for people. But, do you crumble? Or do you lean on your will and overcome it?
Life is about a series of punches being thrown at us and eventually you will get knocked down.
Even the great and most successful people get knocked down. But, it's up to you to either stay down
or get back up and keep

Personal Narrative : My Best Friend
Death is an inevitable thing. It lingers over our head like a dark cloud and likes to follow us around
everywhere we go. It's something that is forgotten about and wished away. It's something that can
come trucking through your life and take you with it on the way out, or it's something that can come
peacefully during the night to whisk you away. It's something that can take someone years to get
over, or for some it could take weeks. It's something that either bring people together, or tears them
apart. Most people like to push the thought of it into the furthest part of their brain in hopes to forget
it. I am one of those people. On November 12, 2014 my best friend took his own life. We weren't
even fourteen years old yet.
At thirteen years old I had lost my best friend and myself. Tuesday morning was when my whole
world came crashing down around me. I had found out when I got to school that day. Our principal
at the time came in a read something from a stack of papers that were stapled together. I could tell
they hadn't been used in a while because the edges were bent and it looked like it had been stuffed
away in a drawer. Sitting there with my stomach in knots, everything he said was flying right over
my head. I had so many things running through my head. How could this have happened? Why
didn't he tell me he needed help? Why wasn't I there for him? Everything became too much for me
to bare so my mom came and picked me up. The whole drive home she talked on the phone

Start Where You Stand
The poem Start Where You Stand was one written by Berton Braley. The date of the poem could not
be found, but it was probably written around 1910's as that was when many of his works were
published around. I chose this poem because, right now as I have been away from home and the
familiarity that it brings, have seemed to hit a rough patch in my life. Poem's like these I think really
help you to lighten up your mood and encourage you to do better as a person. Berton Braley was
born in Madison, Wisconsin on January, 29th 1882. It is said that his father died while Braley was
only seven years of age. At simply sixteen, Braley actually quit high school and worked at a plow
plant as a factory hand. Shortly after that, he found out about the book ... Show more content on

An example of this is when in the poem Berton states "Start where you stand and never mind the
past, The past won't help you in beginning new,". Here he is letting readers know that in order to
move on from whatever problems you are are facing, to start a new and let go of the past as it is
behind you and to not let it trouble you discourage you from moving onward. Later in the poem he
says " The future is your time, and time is fleet, And there is much of work and strain and stress.
Forget the buried woes and dead despairs, Here is a brand new trial right at hand. The future is for
him who does and dares –Start where you stand." What he says here is very powerful. He
encourages and says the future is yours and that time moves quickly and waits on no one so your
time to initiate change is now. He acknowledges that it is not easy, pretty damn hard actually and
that you will feel many pains and stresses in your journey. Then and there he says not to mind the
mistakes you make along the way and never lose hope. For if you actually work on chasing and
challenging your fears, a bright light is shining ahead in your life and you will eventually conquer
them. Lastly, he reiterates to not focus on the big picture and jumbling yourself up but to start taking
small steps from where you currently are into making progress. The overall mood of

Graduation Speech: A Humorous Wedding Speech To A Student
Hello class of 2017 I am honored that I have been chosen to give you all this speech. Id Like to
welcome the staff, teachers, parents, and last but not least the students aka the class of 2017. Many
of us have been on this rode together, many have left and many have joined but it really doesn't
matter who left and joined what matters is this moment in time all of us coming together and
receiving this diploma what all these thirteen years of hard work has finally paid off but this is just
the beginning.
These past thirteen years have been crazy some of us had it easy some of us had it hard, people
came and left out of our life's and out life like we're some kind of hotel. Many of us have been in the
same school for quit many years now and some of us haven't even spoken a word to each other now
is the time to change that and cliques do not matter anymore in the real world we all lived in our
own little fantasy. An anonymous person once said "30 years from now it wont matter what shoes
you wore, how your hair looked, or the jeans you bought. What will matter is what you learned and
how you used it."this quote is really significant to us because it relates to all of because ... Show

good life out there in the so–called Real World, which by the way I assure you is no more or less
real than the one in which you have so far found yourselves." Many of us wouldn't have thought

DISCUSSION
The above graph depicts the average Rockwell C Hardness achieved by each sample. This average
disregards missing data or data that was noted as questionable. The graphed averages demonstrate
the general trends of the different types of steels that were subjected to a heat treatment and quench
media. Samples 1, 3, and 4 show a similar hardness after water quenching but differing
characteristics during the other quenching types.
Sample 3 achieved a higher Rockwell C rating than its initial "As Received" hardness with every
type of quench.. Whereas samples 1, 2, and 4 softened during the annealing process but increased in
hardness with the other quenching medias.
Sample 1 demonstrates the characteristics of a medium carbon steel. The steel ... Show more content

Although the exact carbon content cannot be definitively determined based solely off of this
experiment, it allows for a logical path to hypothesize on each samples' characteristics.
1. Sample 1 demonstrated characteristics of a medium carbon steel. It softened during the annealing
process and progressively hardened with each increase in quench rate.
2. Sample 2 demonstrated characteristics of a low carbon steel. It softened drastically during the
annealing process and progressively hardened with each increase in quench rate, but never achieved
a very high rating.
3. Sample 3 demonstrated characteristics of a high carbon steel. It did not soften during the
annealing process, and rapidly hardened with quench media, plateuing in its RCh rating.
4. Sample 4 demonstrated characteristics of a medium–high carbon steel. It softened during the
annealing process, did not achieve a high RCh during air quenching, but proceeded to achieve a
high RCh with oil and water quenches.

My Role Model In My Life
My past has really shaped me into the person I am today, it is the reason I work as hard as i do
weather its in school or outside activities. My goal is to better myself to get to where i want to be as
I get older no matter the outcome.
My mom had me when she was just sixteen years old and my brother two years later, she managed
to finish and graduate highschool which is one of the reasons she's a big role model in my life. I
grew up with two parents, my mom and my dad. Since both my parents were young, money wasn't
always available due to bills and housing. My mom and dad worked to ends meet and we were able
to move out of my nana's house who has also been a big role model for me. My parents work their
hardest to provide for my brother and I so that we didn't have to worry about the littlest of things.
My nana taught me right from wrong, she taught me that no matter what struggle you come from,
you can make it out somewhere as long as you do what you need to do. She moved to Pennsylvania
for college at Temple because she wanted the best for herself and her kids, she is one of the reasons
I want to go to Temple university. My mother learned from her, without my nana I don't think my
mom would have the mindset she has today as long as with my dad.
I moved around a lot as a kid, mostly back and forth from places to places. I was younger so I didn't
really mind it and it was for the better so me and my brother could have a better education than in
the city school

The Most Is My Mother
The person I admire the most is my mom. Through tough times and good times, my mom has
always been my rock. She keeps me stable and under control. She is also there for me whenever I
need her no matter what. Not only is she my rock, but every day she will go to work and do her best
that way we can have everything we need. She understands that there are days that are going to be
tougher than others and that you should just keep pushing forward. So, my mom is the best person
to have around no matter the problem is and that is what I admire the most about her. Over the
years, I have had some tough times and my mom has been my rock. The worst time that I can
remember is when my great–grandmother and great–grandfather passed away within months of each
other. I always remember being over at their house, along with my cousin, and having a blast.
Though, once my great–grandmother passed away it took a toll on the whole family. While we were

Sometimes we will get into it and I don't want to talk to her and just want to leave. Though, I know
it isn't always like that and I love all the memories that me and my mom share, no matter what.
Even though, the memories I love the most is when we can just talk about our days and laugh and
have a good time. I know that she will always listen to what I have to say and will always help me
understand things and I admire her for that. Without a doubt not only is my mom an amazing person
but she is the one I admire. She is my rock and can help me whenever I need her and will always be
there for me. She works hard to provide for the things we need and will still got out her way
sometimes to give me things I ask for. Also, most of my favorite memories always involve her and I
wouldn't want it any other way. So, when I get asked who I admire and why I will always say my

Squeaky Character Analysis
Some people's personalities are like pineapples. rough and tough on the outside and soft out in
inside. Take Squeaky for example. She is very rough on the inside. Her confidence makes her stay
strong and tough, but on the inside of her, is where she's caring for her brother, Raymond.
At first, you might interpret that Squeaky is not nice at all when she is really, is a confident girl who
does not like to be a chicken. This takes place in New York City on 34th street. When Squeaky is
walking down Broadway with Raymond, her brother, all of a sudden she sees Gretchen and her
sidekicks. Gretchen and her nasty sidekicks like to tease Raymond because Raymond has mental

Water Mifflin Hall, Well Water Wyckoff And Stream Water...
The data from the TDS analysis (table 2) show that tap water Mifflin hall, well water Wyckoff and
stream water Raleigh has a higher amount of total dissolved solid compared to tap water
Harleysville and Tap water Yosemite that have a low amount of total dissolved solid. From these
observations, we can conclude that tap water Harleysville and tap water are softer than Yosemite tap
water Mifflin Hall, well water Wyckoff and stream Water Raleigh. The Results from ETDA (table 7)
show that tap water Mifflin Hall (400 ppm) is hardest than the four other water samples. It is
followed by tap water Harleysville (340 ppm), well Water Wyckoff (320 ppm), Stream Water
Raleigh (110 ppm) and Tap water Yosemite (80 ppm). This order supports my hypothesis. Tap water
Yosemite is relatively soft compared to the other water samples. I have predicted my sample to be
the hardness and tap water Yosemite to be the softest. Also, these results support my hypothesis in
the assumption that they show that stream water Raleigh is moderately hard as expected.
Nevertheless, I expected tap water Yosemite to be relatively soft but the data show that it is
moderately hard. In fact, I assumed that tap water Yosemite would be slightly hard because in
California ground water is stored in alluvium. They are made up of loose gravel, sands, and silts and
they contain a very low concentration of divalent cations. Maybe the fact that rocks vary from the
state of California due to the difference in geology might

Analysis Of The Guts To Keep Going
The hardest time in someone's life is losing someone they love. Losing people who once was close
to their family affects someone more than many think. The feeling of not having them around ever
again is buried inside of you and becomes this big, deep hole of ache. It never magically just goes
away even when time has gone. But eventually everyone finds a way to keep going, some sooner
than later. Although finding the motivation to keep going is one of the hardest things ever in the
article, "The Guts to Keep Going", Amy Lyles Wilson explains perfectly how even though it's one of
the toughest things to deal with you find the guts to keep going, no matter what..
Amy Lyles Wilson father's passed away and left her mom widowed. Her mom now had to deal with
not only grief but learning to do many things that she had never done before. She was a fast learner
so learning how to do things she's never done before wasn't hard, it just took courage. For example,
pump her own gas or any car mechanics but even throughout the obstacles that her mom had been
challenged with after her dad passed away she learned that always, and she means always, you keep
going. When Wilson said, "As we drove off, Mother told me about her old friend Betty Ann whose
husband Carl had died recently. It seems Betty Ann got in the passenger seat of their new Buick and
waited a full three minutes for Carl to appear behind the wheel before finally hauling herself to the
other side of the car and driving

Personal Statement : High School Sports
Most people, if asked, would say that they have worked for something in their life. It's a common
thing to have to do. If you want something you have to work for it in most cases. That is a trait that I
learned very quickly growing up. My parents made me work for everything I wanted, and they made
sure that I knew that good things come to people who work hard and remain selfless. To me this is a
very important part of the person I am today, and the older I become, the more I realize that not
everyone was raised to put in work before expecting rewards. This shows constantly in high school
through sports. There are always a couple of people on a team who believe that they deserve a spot
on the team, or they deserve the all conference award, or that they deserved to have a starting spot,
etc. Having athletic success with these type of people surrounding you is difficult to say the least.
You can not have a team full of people who are just in it for their own benefit.
This past year, I was incredibly blessed to play on a soccer team who, for the most part, was playing
so that the team would have great success. I love all of my teammates and can without a doubt say
that last soccer season was my favorite season. We had so much fun together and all genuinely liked
each other (at least while we were in season). This aspect of my team made it so much easier to get
everyone motivated towards an end goal: to go to the state tournament. This was our team goal from
the very start.

Robert Frost's Three Things I Learned About Life
Robert Frost once said, "in three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes
on" (Frost). I learned this the hard way. At the age of 10 my life was impacted in the worst way
possible. My brother Tim was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time in his young life. This
crushed my family as Tim was just full of life and wanted to be a regular child. The problem was
that he was not living a normal life for a 13–year–old. Tim would spend countless nights in the
Cleveland Clinic receiving chemo–therapy. He went bald and could not even use the bathroom by
himself. Weakness struck my brother and I was there to witness all of it. No one should ever have to
witness what I saw and I pray that no one ever has to go through what Tim did. Seeing the life being
taken from his grip hurt me the most. My life will forever be impacted on March 19th, 2008. That
night, Tim lost his life to cancer and devastation destroyed my family and the community. I learned
at that moment that life is full of obstacles and the strong will persevere. I ... Show more content on

Material Processing And Its Effect On The Construction Of...
Introduction
Usually, the original materials are not suitable for some applications. Therefore, to achieve some
goals of material, we need to process the original materials. By the heat treatment, cold works, and
chemical processes, material processing can change the properties of the original materials
(Materials Processing, n.d.). For example, we do different heat treatments to steels to obtain
different hardness types of steels. According to Totten, annealing is the process that we heat the steel
to the critical point and turn off the heat. We keep the steel in the furnace until the steel completely
cool down to the room temperature (Totten, 1997). The purpose is to make the distribution of the
components uniform in the steel. This process can improve the mechanical properties of the steel,
such as making steel softer to machining and protecting steel from deforming. Normalizing refers
that we leave the heated steel in the air after the steel reached the critical point (Totten, 1997).
Similar to annealing, the purpose of normalizing treatment is also making components in the steel
uniformly distributed, whereas the distributional performance is not as good as annealing heat
treatment. Normalizing treatment can also make the steel softer in order to process. Quenching is
that we cool down the steel in a short time after the steel reached the critical point, such as
quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do quenching is that it can increase the
hardness and

New Method Of Ultrahard Material Synthesis
New Method in Ultrahard Material Synthesis: CS2 Catalyzed Ultrahard Fullerite
Ultrahard materials is a broad category define by materials that are harder than diamond. Diamond,
thought to be the hardest material for centuries hasn't been the hardest material seen by scientists in
a long time. Many materials have been developed or discovered recently that surpass the 150 GPa
hardness of diamond by as much as 100%. There are many ways to measure the hardness of a
material, from the classic scratch test to more complicated bulk modulus calculations. Other tests of
hardness include indentation and rebound tests, or measurements of the elastic and shear modulus.
Ultrahard fullerite is one such material that has surpassed diamond with values ... Show more

Structural studies of fullerite are hampered by its lack of a 4 or 6 fold axis, so long–term periodicity
in fullerite's crystal lattice isn't possible for covalently–bonded fullerene molecules in three
dimensions. TEM studies have shown a sequence of FCC phases that have been explained by
bonded fullerene chains formation. Because of this difficulty, researchers have turned to Raman
spectroscopy to study the polymerization, which has features explained by the C60 phonon spectra
perturbations by intermolecular covalent bonding. The 3D polymerized phases produced in
ultrahard fullerite synthesis are phase IV and V, where phase V is the desired ultrahard fullerite.
Phase V is translucent in the near IR or visible range having a Raman spectrum containing two
broad peaks around 1550 cm–1 and around 500 cm–1.
Prior to research by Popov et al., the synthesis conditions of ultrahard fullerite depended on a degree
of plastic deformation and stress tensor variation of a sample under compression. The minimum
required pressure for synthesis was 13 GPa at 1100 K, or 18 GPa at room temperature, both of
which aren't suitable for industrial production without a catalyst. The polymerization of fullerene
molecules starts under sunlight irradiation at ambient temperatures to create dimers. These simple
conditions for these intermolecular bonds to form led researchers to hypothesize

Short StoryFly Away Home, By Eve Bunting
A wise person once said, "Being strong doesn't mean you'll never get hurt. It means even when you
get hurt, you'll never let it defeat you." This quote relates to the short story "Fly Away Home," by
Eve Bunting. In this story, a young boy named Andrew lives in an airport with his father, while
living there Andrew shows us that it is important to stay strong through tough times.
In the beginning of the story, being strong through tough times comes up a lot. In one instance in the
story, Andrew couldn't talk with the people he knew at the airport because they could get him
noticed. This shows that he stayed strong because it's really tempting to talk to people you know and
carry on conversation with them, but Andrew had to choose his way of life over pleasure and decide
he would rather not be noticed over having friendship. This would be a big challenge for most of us,
but Andrew stayed strong through it. In addition, because Andrew lived in an airport, he had to sleep
sitting up because he had no bed. This is important because not only is it difficult to sleep sitting up,
but it's even tougher to have no hope of getting a real bed. Andrew had no hope of getting a bed
because he and his father couldn't even afford a home, so there wasn't really any chance of Andrew
getting a real bed at that moment. Furthermore, Andrew stayed strong when he saw everyone
leaving to go home when he stayed at the airport. Strength is shown here because Andrew must have
known these people were

My Courage In Life
Courage is different for everyone, but no matter the description everyone experiences moments
during life where they have to be courageous. I believe courage is being brave enough to face your
fears and overcome adversities, and not look back. Many people's fears decrease as they face them
more, but for me mine only got worse the more I moved, and the older I got. For many people they
have to find courage to face new places and situations, which is where I have found the most
courage in my life. Change is not easy and leaving everything you know is hard but I had to become
courageous to overcome what I was faced with, and these difficulties have changed my life and
made me a person I would have never been without them. Each person finds courage in their darkest
and hardest moments in life, and here is mine. Six year olds don't know anything right? So as I sat
waving from the giant moving truck to my family and friends, I had no idea my life was about to be
flipped upside down and changed forever. At six it did not take courage for me to move halfway
across the country, it was fun, a new adventure. Or so it seemed. New school, new friends, and a big
new house. I moved again when I was six, and yet again I didn't care. It was my third move and this
one I was even more excited about, because I got to move by my cousins who were my best friends.
In Michigan I spent the next three years making friends, having fun, and being happy. Something
changed during those years

Describe My Mother
I view my mother as the outmost magnificent person in my life, and I can't be more thankful to have
her. I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can't think of
another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest
person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent's personalities are strict, therefore
my mother was raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything
is easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know,
consequently thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say
to me "you have to work hard to achieve your dreams", I believe her. If you knew her you'll be
impressed by her strong character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and
knew her. She makes a wonderful mother and I'm sure she will make a great friend. My mother's
name is Lidia Montano Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life,
next to the side of my father who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you
ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it's obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first
thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets
fighting the frizz that could be noticed for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low
ponytail, but when she is going somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you'll
recognize the difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh
coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip
almost untraceable, however, it's most likely that you will not notice it. When she paints her bow–
shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are traits that stand out the further, she has
other characteristics too, although they don't stand out as much as her hair and lips.
Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if
you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though

The Importance Of Family In The Scarlet Ibis
Family plays a crucial role in an individual's life. They affect your decisions and the way you live.
Your family can either bring you down or lift you up and push you to do your hardest.
Although your family is supposed to know you best & help you, they can sometimes do the

Essay On Surface Hardness Of Cang
Surface Hardening of Cams for Venture Consulting
Introduction
Dean and Triana's invention is running into trouble when it is used continuously for long periods of
time because the cams are too soft, resulting in wear and misalignment in the invention. They
already have all of the cams, so switching materials is not an option, so we must find a way to
harden the surface of the cams to reduce wear. The cams are made of 1020 steel, which has a
hardness of 111 HB, and only has 0.20% carbon, classifying it as a low carbon steel. For this reason
we recommend that carburization be utilized to increase the carbon composition at the surface, and
thus increase the surface hardness. This occurs because the presence of carbon interstitially diffused

Interstitial diffusion is the specific type of diffusion that will be going on. Interstitial diffusion
typically involves one substance with much smaller atoms than the substance it is moving into, and
the small atoms will move in between larger atoms in the lattice structure. We know that the radius
of Carbon is 67 pm or 67*10–12 m and the radius of radius of Iron is 156 pm or 156*10–12 m.
Carbon atoms are 89 picometers smaller in radius than Iron atoms. Carbon atoms are considerably
smaller than Iron atoms as they are smaller than half the size of iron atoms. Because of the small
size of carbon, it will enter the iron crystal structure through interstitial diffusion.
The Governing Equation for this diffusion is (C–Co)/(Cs–Co)=1–erf[ x/(2*(Dt)1/2)] .
This an equation for a non–steady state diffusion process that has been derived from Fick's Second
Law which describes how atoms diffuse initially at a non–steady state and has been described in:
Diffusion can be used for this problem because of the carburization process that will strengthen the
steel cams. Carburization is a process in which our steel cams will be heat treated in a high carbon
environment. What will be going on during this heat treatment, is the carbon in the atmosphere will
be diffusing into the cams through interstitial diffusion. The heat in the environment facilitates the
diffusion. The carbon diffuses from

Case Of The Downs By Jen Sincero
Case of the Downs In one of Jen Sincero's writings, You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your
Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life, she talks about one loving themselves the way they
are, and what conflicts with this is people putting themselves down in a lower state of mind. She
says, "We invest everything we've got in believing that we're not good enough" (54). After I lost that
match, I constantly thought to myself that maybe I am not good enough. It was not the fact that I
lost the match, but the way I lost. To get put on one's back and pinned is the worst way to lose in

Bro constantly gave me a little motivational saying before each match simply saying, "Nobody
works as hard as you, you are in better condition, you are sure as hell tougher, now go kick some

match are what helped build up my mental toughness. An athlete that has gone through what Bro
and I have gone through, relies on mental toughness to keep them going when the feeling of
breaking appears both mentally and physically. In an article Rainer Wieser and Haymo Thiel explain
the same idea of mental toughness allowing for factors like achieving or failing in the process of

I had reached this point of my limits when I lost the wrestling match in about thirty seconds. Once I
gained motivation and reorganized my state of mind, I realized I had not reached my limits. Thanks
to my Bro, I had gotten my proper motivation that got me back on track for success. I am both
physically and mentally a badass.

Personal Narrative Essay: The Value Of A Football Team
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful..." –Hebrews 12:11 "What are we?" Head
Coach Shaver asked. Every time he would ask we would reply yelling "3D!" 3D would represent
our motto for the year. Dependable, Determined, and Disciplined is what this stood for. It relates
back to our team verse of the year which was Hebrews 11:12. In our quaint South Georgia town,
football is valued and our team is expected to excel each and every year. We started practicing in
late May and continue to practice throughout the summer break all the way up until season started.
That year we had 10 new starters on offense including me. Defense, on the other hand, had 6
returning starters including 2 big time players. Valdosta was our opening game. We ended up losing
but it was a great wake up call for our team. We then went on to win 5 straight and were the number
1 seed in our sub region. Our 7th game is when everything started going downhill. The game before,
we lost a very important impact defensive lineman due to injury. This affected us substantially. Our
7th game was against our rival Cairo. This was an important game because it would determine who
would be playing for the region championship. We took a very tough loss that night. After ... Show

gave us confidence going into the game. I personally played exceptionally well them the first time

Assignment 1 Self-Analysis
This semester seems like a tough one for you, but you were able to grow as a student because of it.
My first semester in college was a bit easier, but the second semester was a challenge. At the
beginning of the semester one of the first assignments was a reading readiness survey. I found it to
be an interesting assignment because we really had to dig deep for answers and break down how we
think we are as readers. A particular question asked how what three to four adjectives describe me as
a reader and I answered with detailed, reflective, and stimulating. At the beginning of the semester I
thought I felt that way, but as I went through the course I developed more strategies for reading and
ways to understand what I am reading. Ever since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I like to take part more in discussions and enjoy them. The discussions from English 121 have
interested me as well as helping me see other people's perspective of what is wanted from this class.
Another thing that I absolutely love doing is the peer responses. I have always been intimidated by
others reading my papers because I hated that particular kind of criticism, but now I realize it is
more helpful than not. In my first paper, I thought I checked and doubled checked my work, but
when a student went through it, I had a ton of errors and some sentences that just really did not need
to be there. For it being my first time seeing the comments from the other student, I was frustrated,
but I took some of the advice and it really helped make my paper flow. Another plus to the peer
responses was it was not the same student reading my work. We always had different partners which
helped me be more open minded to a wider variety of errors. Now, the hardest assignment I think I
had this semester was the rhetorical analysis. The reading material we had to cover and trying to
compare the two was tough, but I still put my best foot forward and wrote it. When it came time to
the peer responses it helped me understand the topic as well as having my teacher's notes to the text.
Over this course I feel I have started to handle the pressure of these

Aluminum Ware Mat Reinforced Polyester Composite
ABSTRACT
Aluminum ware mat reinforced Polyester Composite has been developed to find out an alternative
structural material. The physical and mechanical characteristics that are Tensile strength, Flexural
strength, Water absorption, Hardness etc. illustrate the competency of the developed composite. It is
found that Water Absorbency, Tensile strength, Flexural strength, hardness & stiffness increase with
increasing of Metal Mat layer in the composite which is estimated maximum for the three Metal
Mat layered composite and minimum for the zero layered composite. Mechanical properties of the
composite increase with the increase of metal mat layer. All the properties suggest the use of the
composite as an unbeaten structural material but water uptake evades its outside use.
INTRODUCTION:
Metal reinforced Polyester composite has been increasingly drawn the attention of the researchers
for the last decades. Light weight along with high strength materials can replace traditional
construction materials used in building engineering, aeronautics, mechanical engineering and in
many other domains. It is related to a possibility of obtaining practically any combination of
beneficial properties of the material, e.g. high vibration damping coefficient, high abrasion
resistance, high value of the Young's modulus, low specific gravity and low coefficient of thermal
expansion [1, 2, 3, 4] .
This project is concerned with metal mat reinforced polymer (MMP) composites where high

Advanced Cutting Materials Ceramic cutting tools have been around for over 100 years. The most
common materials used prior to this were iron and steel. These metals are effective in cutting but
have limitations that ceramics do not. There are many different types of materials used in the
production of ceramic–based cutting tools. The production of ceramics have seen various
advancements since its birth, and continues to be more dependable as new technologies are applied
to lower cost and boost efficiency in development. Advanced cutting ceramics is a $30 million (US)
industry per the Department of Energy and has seen increased growth in the last 10 years. Alumina
(〖Al〗_2 O_3) and Silicon Nitride (〖Si〗_3 N_4) are most commonly found in a ceramic cutting
material. Their attributes differ for their own specific purpose, but they all have the same core
characteristics. They all demonstrate elevated hardness, strength, and thermal conductivity. Thermal
conductivity is one of the main advantages in using ceramics over other materials. Ceramics can
withstand temperatures over 4000℉ in its operation, while Carbide can only reach 1600℉. Cutting
materials at this heat allows for the material being cut to be softened, allowing for a smoother, easier
pass. These high temperatures are unattainable for carbide tools because they exceed its melting
point. Ideal–machining temperatures (e.g., 2200°F for nickel alloys) can be accommodated by

Ultrasonic Essay
History
The ultrasonic technology can be found from piezoelectric effect conducted research by Pierre Curie
1880. Pierre Curie he discover asymmetrical crystals like Rochelle salt and quartz can generate
electricity charge once mechanical pressure is applied. So it is obtained mechanical vibrations from
applying electrical oscillations to the crystals. The frequency of Ultrasonic wave should be higher

Process
Ultrasonic machining, tool of required shape vibrates on ultrasonic frequency (19 – 25 kHz.) with
an amplitude of 15–50 μm over work piece.
In general tool is pressed down with a feed force.
Between the work and work tool, machining zone is flooded with tough abrasive particles mostly in
the form of water slurry.
As the tool vibrates over the work piece, abrasive particles acts as indent and indenter both tool
material and work. Abrasive particles, as they indent, the work material would remove the material
from both work piece and tool. In Ultrasonic machining material removal is due to crack initiation,
brittle fracture of material and propagation.
USM is used for machining brittle and tough materials, which are poor conductors of electricity and
thus cannot be processed by (EDM) Electro discharge machining or (ECM) electrochemical
machining
The tool in Ultrasonic machining is made to vibrate with high frequency on to the work surface in
the midst of the slurry. One of the main reason for using ultrasonic frequency is to extend preferable
performance. Audible frequencies of

Family : Love And Love
Who knew something that would affect my life would happen before I was ever even born. Family
is a term that most people associate with warm, safe, and loving. That was never the case in my
situation due to my childhood being riddled with fights and heartache. It all started a cold night in
the year 2000 two years before I was conceived. That's when two unlikely people would meet and
blossom into a new relationship which would soon crumble under the pressure of a teen pregnancy,
financial instability, and stress. As a child you live in a bubble of innocence where you aren't aware
of the bad in the world or even in your family but there comes a point where that perfect bubble
bursts and you have to face the truths. My parents tried so hard to hide the problems of their
relationships from me because all they wanted me to be was a happy child. As I grew older I noticed
certain things that I couldn't as a child like how my parents stopped hugging and the kisses to each
other stopped. There never said I love you to each other unless we were in the same vicinity as them
because of the façade they wanted to maintain. However, they never stopped loving us any
differently than before which ultimately proved to me that no matter what happened my parents
would never change. Being a kid, it never really occurred to me that maybe my parents didn't feel
the same love to each other as they did for their kids.

Success Essay : The Meaning Of Success
What is success? The meaning of success is different for everyone. Being successful could be
anything. It could be finishing a book, doing really well at a band competition, or even winning a
state championship. Success is very personal. I think being successful is putting your best effort into
something and knowing you could not do any better. Success is setting goals and completing them.
John Wooden spent many years researching and perfecting his pyramid of success. Wooden's
pyramid of success consists of traits like confidence, poise, and self–control. All of the traits lead to
success, but I think the most important are adaptability, fight, and faith. The reason I chose
adaptability is because whatever is thrown at you during a basketball game, like one of your
teammates getting injured, you can't get upset over it, you have to keep playing and make the best of
it. Adaptability also applies to life. You can't just give up just because something goes wrong, you
have to forget about the problem and keep moving forward. I think fight is a very important trait to
be successful. You have to put in your best effort and you also have to want to be successful. In
cross country you can't just show up to the meet and expect to do well without even trying. You
have to fight to get your place and you have to have better effort than your competitors. My third
most important trait to being successful is faith. If you have no faith in yourself then how will others

Analysis Of Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter And Sweet
Being held by your word because you make a promise, or commitment is frustrating and tough. You
don't always want to do what you promised because it could be hard, or get you into trouble.
Throughout the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry and Keiko's relationship
comes at a cost. They make commitments that comes with sacrifices which makes them hard to
keep. Through Henry and Keiko's relationship Ford shows that commitment is difficult. Keiko asks
a lot from Henry, but sometimes she asks too much which can put Henry and his family at risk.
When Henry meets Keiko in the park she gives him something to keep. Keeping it could potentially
cause trouble for the Lee family. She wheels over a red wagon containing photos and memory
books, "These belonged to my family. My mother told me to take them into the alley and burn
them..... I can't do it I was hoping you might hide them for us" (Ford 95). Japanese–American
families are burning their past in hopes that people will believe that they have nothing to do with
Japan. They want to prove that they are American and loyal. Keiko cannot bring herself to do it, so
she asks Henry for help. He agrees and takes them home because he loves her, and part of being
together is helping each other out. In doing so, he puts his whole family at risk because he feels
obligated to take the photos. If someone were to find those photos, Henry and his entire family

For the following assignment a laboratory session took place where a hardness test was conducted
on a range of materials named sample A, B and C. The aims of the experiment are to establish the
hardness number for a range of carbon steels using standard hardness testers in accordance with the
relevant British standard, to develop an understanding of the relationship between the material
strength with the said parameters and to gather the test result and determine whether the materials
are either low carbon steel, medium carbon steel or high carbon steel. A report will be produced
based on the laboratory experiment and the results found.

Background on hardness testing
Hardness is a characteristic of a material and should not be confused as a fundamental physical
property. As stated by the metals handbook hardness is defined as the "resistance of metal to plastic
deformation" usually done by indenting the material. It's the ability of the material to stop itself
from being permanently deformed when you apply a load to it,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Cold Deformation Process...
Cold deformation process of metals causes distortion of crystalline structure. When a material is
formed, the grains are usually distorted and elongated in one or more directions which make the
material anisotropic. Anisotropy can be defined as a difference in a material's physical or
mechanical properties in different directions of taking of testing samples. In exploitation, it is very
important to recognize the direction of grain elongation so that the best orientation of working part
can be chosen. For that purpose ultrasonic testing is used. The ultrasonic velocity of the material is
determined by using a digital oscilloscope under condition that thickness of the material is known.

Usually used methods include cutting in two directions (transversal and longitudinal), and
microstructure scanning. These methods take a lot of time. This paper suggest the use of non–
destructive testing methods that can offer faster response to basic question: what is the distortion
direction? Proposed method is ultrasonic testing.
Ultrasonic velocity is an important acoustic parameter that characterizes each material [1].
Ultrasonic velocity in the material is determined by the type and condition of materials and external
influences such as temperature and strain.
He [2] dealt with the issue of measuring the speed of ultrasound in the material so that at the same
time are measured the speed of ultrasound and thickness of the material in several different tubes.
For this purpose, he conducted an analysis of time and frequency domain received signal. He listed
all theoretical influences on the accuracy of speed of ultrasound, but not experimentally determined
or estimated deviation of the actual values.
Ali [3] carried out measuring the longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic velocity in the standard
block and on that experimental basis he determined mechanical properties of the reference standard
and calculated modulus of elasticity of

The Effect Of Water Hardness On Our Health
Introduction Water hardness is an ongoing problem across the globe. While not detrimental to our
health, there are many issues that arise from having hard water in households. You may be asking,
what is hard water? Isn't it all liquid? The "hardness" of water actually refers to the presence of
divalent cations, or ions with a +2 charge. In drinking water, these are most commonly Ca2+ and
Mg2+ ions ("Water Hardness"). Water hardness can cause a buildup of minerals on surfaces such as
dishes, sinks, showers and pipes. While the aesthetic problems are not that important, the buildup in
the pipes can be very harmful. The scale that builds up causes utility bills to increase because more
energy is required to deliver water to its final ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The water will turn to blue when you reach this point. Once you find how many drops of EDTA it
took, you can calculate the concentration of calcium and magnesium in the water, as seen in the
results section. EDTA is not always precise since the turning point will often lie between drops,
which can result in a large margin of error, especially for small samples. For a more accurate test,
we turn to AA, or Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. This water hardness test uses a machine to
aspirate the water sample. This gas then is burned in a flame, and a light of a range of wavelengths
is passed through it. The machine then calculates the amount of divalent cations in the water by
comparing the relative levels of light passed through the sample at each wavelength to known
atomic absorption levels. You then use a trend line from known samples' readings, to figure out what
the concentration of calcium or magnesium there is. These two different tests are both used in this
lab so that we can be assured we've done them right. The hardness of one test should be similar to
the hardness obtained from the other. Using these tests, we created a hypothesis to test.
Our group was testing which part of Pennsylvania has the highest mineral content and hardness of
their water. Our samples came from a Pittsburgh well (694 Forbes Rd. New Castle PA 16101), State
College tap (478 E Calder Way State College PA 16801) and Philadelphia tap (6705 Springbank

The Key Characteristics Of Positive Role Models In Life
Throughout life, many people will influence others in a certain way. What people notice is that the
positive role models will have something that puts them ahead of everyone else. Role models show
how people should be treated and how they should value themselves first, and then their success
will come. Positive role models can be found all over the place; sometimes they are just hard to find.
Key characteristics that put these people above everyone else are honesty, hard–work and
dedication, and not having a fear of failure. When looking for positive role models in life, one of the
biggest things that they have is their ability to be upfront and honest about what they are doing. A
fact that most people know is not to trust or look up to a liar. One of the reasons why is that they
never know if they are telling you the truth or not. People do not want to be lied to about how they
are doing. They want to be told the truth by people, so they can correct what they are doing wrong
and be even better because of it. Honesty is an important aspect of life for most people. Most people
that have support from others have a sort of trust with each other. Trust and honesty are the
foundation of friendships and relationships all throughout life. The fact is that positive people, no
matter where they go bring positivity. Whether it is at home or at the workplace, everyone wants to
be around them because of their positivity. Honest people are the best kind of people to be

surfing dream. She showed multiple traits that few have. She showed that she can overcome.
Bethany Hamilton was able to overcome the devastating event at thirteen. So some kids would just
sob and give up. An example is that Bethany was able to get back to normal life in less than a month
after the attack. She had determination in life. She also go in the water before Thanksgiving (less
than a month after the attack). That's very good for her. Her dad

Panyee Football Club Determination

  • 1. Panyee Football Club Determination In the movie "Panyee Football Club", by TMB brand, the Panyee boys show determination. Determination, determination is when you never give up no matter what and always finish the job. The Panyee boys show their determination by building their own practice pitch to play on. Also, when the villagers didn't support them, they continued to build the pitch and impressed the villagers. The villagers were so impressed, that they eventually came around. Finally, they overcame many obstacles in the semi–finals which almost led them to victory. The first example of the Panyee boy's determination is when they built their own practice pitch to play on without any materials or help. Some evidence for this is when one of the Panyee boys says "We figured we had to create our own space". This is important because they had to actually build a flat, sturdy surface to play on all by themselves. Another piece of evidence that proves my point is they had to find wood, nails, hammers, fishing rafts, etc. to even start making it.The reason this proves my claim is that they had to go around the village searching for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They continued to build the pitch and impressed the villagers so much that the villagers eventually came around. One piece of evidence that the villagers didn't support them is when a villager says "Ha ha ha! You won't become champions on that thing! Ha ha ha!". This supports my point because laughter is sometimes a form of demeaning someone (or a group of people). It can be hard sometimes to keep going when someone is demeaning you. Some evidence that shows the villagers came around is when a villager says "You don't look like champions in those clothes! You'll look better in these!"as the villager picks up a fresh new soccer shirt. This connects to my reason because now they are supporting the boys by giving them encouragment and the vision to support their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. How Mental Toughness Changed My Life I love training and building up my physique. This is something I have made a huge part of my life the past 5 years and I don't ever see myself stopping. I've found a passion that makes me happy, feel good, want to work harder in every aspect of life, but most importantly it has taught me mental toughness. A good majority of you know that I lost my father to a car accident eight years ago. For those of you that don't know, this was a huge loss for my family and I. This tragedy left us confused with what the future had in store for us. That day we lost our father was a day we lost a piece of our family and we knew it would never be repaired. Though I could have fallen between the cracks and said "F*%K life!" I went the opposite way and took my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being mentally tougher can help carry over all the work you put in to improve your body and strength. More importantly, being mentally tough can help improve your quality of life because it teaches you to overcome adverse situations. Quite frankly, that's what life is good at, creating adverse dilemmas for people. But, do you crumble? Or do you lean on your will and overcome it? Life is about a series of punches being thrown at us and eventually you will get knocked down. Even the great and most successful people get knocked down. • 3. Personal Narrative : My Best Friend Death is an inevitable thing. It lingers over our head like a dark cloud and likes to follow us around everywhere we go. It's something that is forgotten about and wished away. It's something that can come trucking through your life and take you with it on the way out, or it's something that can come peacefully during the night to whisk you away. It's something that can take someone years to get over, or for some it could take weeks. It's something that either bring people together, or tears them apart. Most people like to push the thought of it into the furthest part of their brain in hopes to forget it. I am one of those people. On November 12, 2014 my best friend took his own life. We weren't even fourteen years old yet. At thirteen years old I had lost my best friend and myself. Tuesday morning was when my whole world came crashing down around me. I had found out when I got to school that day. Our principal at the time came in a read something from a stack of papers that were stapled together. I could tell they hadn't been used in a while because the edges were bent and it looked like it had been stuffed away in a drawer. Sitting there with my stomach in knots, everything he said was flying right over my head. I had so many things running through my head. How could this have happened? Why didn't he tell me he needed help? Why wasn't I there for him? Everything became too much for me to bare so my mom came and picked me up. The whole drive home she talked on the phone ... • 4. Start Where You Stand The poem Start Where You Stand was one written by Berton Braley. The date of the poem could not be found, but it was probably written around 1910's as that was when many of his works were published around. I chose this poem because, right now as I have been away from home and the familiarity that it brings, have seemed to hit a rough patch in my life. Poem's like these I think really help you to lighten up your mood and encourage you to do better as a person. Berton Braley was born in Madison, Wisconsin on January, 29th 1882. It is said that his father died while Braley was only seven years of age. At simply sixteen, Braley actually quit high school and worked at a plow plant as a factory hand. Shortly after that, he found out about the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is when in the poem Berton states "Start where you stand and never mind the past, The past won't help you in beginning new,". Here he is letting readers know that in order to move on from whatever problems you are are facing, to start a new and let go of the past as it is behind you and to not let it trouble you discourage you from moving onward. Later in the poem he says " The future is your time, and time is fleet, And there is much of work and strain and stress. Forget the buried woes and dead despairs, Here is a brand new trial right at hand. The future is for him who does and dares –Start where you stand." What he says here is very powerful. He encourages and says the future is yours and that time moves quickly and waits on no one so your time to initiate change is now. He acknowledges that it is not easy, pretty damn hard actually and that you will feel many pains and stresses in your journey. Then and there he says not to mind the mistakes you make along the way and never lose hope. For if you actually work on chasing and challenging your fears, a bright light is shining ahead in your life and you will eventually conquer them. Lastly, he reiterates to not focus on the big picture and jumbling yourself up but to start taking small steps from where you currently are into making progress. The overall mood of ... Id Like to welcome the staff, teachers, parents, and last but not least the students aka the class of 2017. Many of us have been on this rode together, many have left and many have joined but it really doesn't matter who left and joined what matters is this moment in time all of us coming together and receiving this diploma what all these thirteen years of hard work has finally paid off but this is just the beginning. These past thirteen years have been crazy some of us had it easy some of us had it hard, people came and left out of our life's and out life like we're some kind of hotel. Many of us have been in the same school for quit many years now and some of us haven't even spoken a word to each other now is the time to change that and cliques do not matter anymore in the real world we all lived in our own little fantasy. An anonymous person once said "30 years from now it wont matter what shoes you wore, how your hair looked, or the jeans you bought. What will matter is what you learned and how you used it."this quote is really significant to us because it relates to all of because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This average disregards missing data or data that was noted as questionable. The graphed averages demonstrate the general trends of the different types of steels that were subjected to a heat treatment and quench media. Samples 1, 3, and 4 show a similar hardness after water quenching but differing characteristics during the other quenching types. Sample 3 achieved a higher Rockwell C rating than its initial "As Received" hardness with every type of quench.. • 7. My Role Model In My Life My past has really shaped me into the person I am today, it is the reason I work as hard as i do weather its in school or outside activities. My goal is to better myself to get to where i want to be as I get older no matter the outcome. My mom had me when she was just sixteen years old and my brother two years later, she managed to finish and graduate highschool which is one of the reasons she's a big role model in my life. I grew up with two parents, my mom and my dad. Since both my parents were young, money wasn't always available due to bills and housing. My mom and dad worked to ends meet and we were able to move out of my nana's house who has also been a big role model for me. My parents work their hardest to provide for my brother and I so that we didn't have to worry about the littlest of things. The data from the TDS analysis (table 2) show that tap water Mifflin hall, well water Wyckoff and stream water Raleigh has a higher amount of total dissolved solid compared to tap water Harleysville and Tap water Yosemite that have a low amount of total dissolved solid. From these observations, we can conclude that tap water Harleysville and tap water are softer than Yosemite tap water Mifflin Hall, well water Wyckoff and stream Water Raleigh. The Results from ETDA (table 7) show that tap water Mifflin Hall (400 ppm) is hardest than the four other water samples. It is followed by tap water Harleysville (340 ppm), well Water Wyckoff (320 ppm), Stream Water Raleigh (110 ppm) and Tap water Yosemite (80 ppm). This order supports my hypothesis. Tap water Yosemite is relatively soft compared to the other water samples. I have predicted my sample to be the hardness and tap water Yosemite to be the softest. Also, these results support my hypothesis in the assumption that they show that stream water Raleigh is moderately hard as expected. Nevertheless, I expected tap water Yosemite to be relatively soft but the data show that it is moderately hard. In fact, I assumed that tap water Yosemite would be slightly hard because in California ground water is stored in alluvium. • 11. Analysis Of The Guts To Keep Going The hardest time in someone's life is losing someone they love. Losing people who once was close to their family affects someone more than many think. The feeling of not having them around ever again is buried inside of you and becomes this big, deep hole of ache. It never magically just goes away even when time has gone. But eventually everyone finds a way to keep going, some sooner than later. Although finding the motivation to keep going is one of the hardest things ever in the article, "The Guts to Keep Going", Amy Lyles Wilson explains perfectly how even though it's one of the toughest things to deal with you find the guts to keep going, no matter what.. Amy Lyles Wilson father's passed away and left her mom widowed. Her mom now had to deal with not only grief but learning to do many things that she had never done before. She was a fast learner so learning how to do things she's never done before wasn't hard, it just took courage. For example, pump her own gas or any car mechanics but even throughout the obstacles that her mom had been challenged with after her dad passed away she learned that always, and she means always, you keep going. When Wilson said, "As we drove off, Mother told me about her old friend Betty Ann whose husband Carl had died recently. • 12. Personal Statement : High School Sports Most people, if asked, would say that they have worked for something in their life. It's a common thing to have to do. If you want something you have to work for it in most cases. That is a trait that I learned very quickly growing up. My parents made me work for everything I wanted, and they made sure that I knew that good things come to people who work hard and remain selfless. To me this is a very important part of the person I am today, and the older I become, the more I realize that not everyone was raised to put in work before expecting rewards. This shows constantly in high school through sports. There are always a couple of people on a team who believe that they deserve a spot on the team, or they deserve the all conference award, or that they deserved to have a starting spot, etc. Having athletic success with these type of people surrounding you is difficult to say the least. You can not have a team full of people who are just in it for their own benefit. This past year, I was incredibly blessed to play on a soccer team who, for the most part, was playing so that the team would have great success. I love all of my teammates and can without a doubt say that last soccer season was my favorite season. We had so much fun together and all genuinely liked each other (at least while we were in season). This aspect of my team made it so much easier to get everyone motivated towards an end goal: to go to the state tournament. This was our team goal from the very start. ... At the age of 10 my life was impacted in the worst way possible. My brother Tim was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time in his young life. This crushed my family as Tim was just full of life and wanted to be a regular child. The problem was that he was not living a normal life for a 13–year–old. Tim would spend countless nights in the Cleveland Clinic receiving chemo–therapy. He went bald and could not even use the bathroom by himself. Weakness struck my brother and I was there to witness all of it. No one should ever have to witness what I saw and I pray that no one ever has to go through what Tim did. Seeing the life being taken from his grip hurt me the most. My life will forever be impacted on March 19th, 2008. • 14. Material Processing And Its Effect On The Construction Of... Introduction Usually, the original materials are not suitable for some applications. Therefore, to achieve some goals of material, we need to process the original materials. By the heat treatment, cold works, and chemical processes, material processing can change the properties of the original materials (Materials Processing, n.d.). For example, we do different heat treatments to steels to obtain different hardness types of steels. According to Totten, annealing is the process that we heat the steel to the critical point and turn off the heat. We keep the steel in the furnace until the steel completely cool down to the room temperature (Totten, 1997). The purpose is to make the distribution of the components uniform in the steel. This process can improve the mechanical properties of the steel, such as making steel softer to machining and protecting steel from deforming. Normalizing refers that we leave the heated steel in the air after the steel reached the critical point (Totten, 1997). Similar to annealing, the purpose of normalizing treatment is also making components in the steel uniformly distributed, whereas the distributional performance is not as good as annealing heat treatment. Normalizing treatment can also make the steel softer in order to process. Quenching is that we cool down the steel in a short time after the steel reached the critical point, such as quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do quenching is that it can increase the hardness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

New Method Of Ultrahard Material Synthesis New Method in Ultrahard Material Synthesis: CS2 Catalyzed Ultrahard Fullerite Ultrahard materials is a broad category define by materials that are harder than diamond. Diamond, thought to be the hardest material for centuries hasn't been the hardest material seen by scientists in a long time. Many materials have been developed or discovered recently that surpass the 150 GPa hardness of diamond by as much as 100%. There are many ways to measure the hardness of a material, from the classic scratch test to more complicated bulk modulus calculations. Other tests of hardness include indentation and rebound tests, or measurements of the elastic and shear modulus. Ultrahard fullerite is one such material that has surpassed diamond with values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Structural studies of fullerite are hampered by its lack of a 4 or 6 fold axis, so long–term periodicity in fullerite's crystal lattice isn't possible for covalently–bonded fullerene molecules in three dimensions. TEM studies have shown a sequence of FCC phases that have been explained by bonded fullerene chains formation. Because of this difficulty, researchers have turned to Raman spectroscopy to study the polymerization, which has features explained by the C60 phonon spectra perturbations by intermolecular covalent bonding. The 3D polymerized phases produced in ultrahard fullerite synthesis are phase IV and V, where phase V is the desired ultrahard fullerite. Phase V is translucent in the near IR or visible range having a Raman spectrum containing two broad peaks around 1550 cm–1 and around 500 cm–1. Prior to research by Popov et al., the synthesis conditions of ultrahard fullerite depended on a degree of plastic deformation and stress tensor variation of a sample under compression. The minimum required pressure for synthesis was 13 GPa at 1100 K, or 18 GPa at room temperature, both of which aren't suitable for industrial production without a catalyst. The polymerization of fullerene molecules starts under sunlight irradiation at ambient temperatures to create dimers. These simple conditions for these intermolecular bonds to form led researchers to hypothesize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Short StoryFly Away Home, By Eve Bunting A wise person once said, "Being strong doesn't mean you'll never get hurt. It means even when you get hurt, you'll never let it defeat you." This quote relates to the short story "Fly Away Home," by Eve Bunting. In this story, a young boy named Andrew lives in an airport with his father, while living there Andrew shows us that it is important to stay strong through tough times. In the beginning of the story, being strong through tough times comes up a lot. In one instance in the story, Andrew couldn't talk with the people he knew at the airport because they could get him noticed. This shows that he stayed strong because it's really tempting to talk to people you know and carry on conversation with them, but Andrew had to choose his way of life over pleasure and decide he would rather not be noticed over having friendship. This would be a big challenge for most of us, but Andrew stayed strong through it. In addition, because Andrew lived in an airport, he had to sleep sitting up because he had no bed. This is important because not only is it difficult to sleep sitting up, but it's even tougher to have no hope of getting a real bed. Andrew had no hope of getting a bed because he and his father couldn't even afford a home, so there wasn't really any chance of Andrew getting a real bed at that moment. Furthermore, Andrew stayed strong when he saw everyone leaving to go home when he stayed at the airport. Strength is shown here because Andrew must have known these people were ... I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can't think of another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent's personalities are strict, therefore my mother was raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything is easy in life or handed to you. If you ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it's obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you'll recognize the difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it's most likely that you will not notice it. When she paints her bow– shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don't stand out as much as her hair and lips. • 20. Essay On Surface Hardness Of Cang Surface Hardening of Cams for Venture Consulting Introduction Dean and Triana's invention is running into trouble when it is used continuously for long periods of time because the cams are too soft, resulting in wear and misalignment in the invention. They already have all of the cams, so switching materials is not an option, so we must find a way to harden the surface of the cams to reduce wear. The cams are made of 1020 steel, which has a hardness of 111 HB, and only has 0.20% carbon, classifying it as a low carbon steel. For this reason we recommend that carburization be utilized to increase the carbon composition at the surface, and thus increase the surface hardness. This occurs because the presence of carbon interstitially diffused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Interstitial diffusion is the specific type of diffusion that will be going on. Interstitial diffusion typically involves one substance with much smaller atoms than the substance it is moving into, and the small atoms will move in between larger atoms in the lattice structure. We know that the radius of Carbon is 67 pm or 67*10–12 m and the radius of radius of Iron is 156 pm or 156*10–12 m. Carbon atoms are 89 picometers smaller in radius than Iron atoms. Carbon atoms are considerably smaller than Iron atoms as they are smaller than half the size of iron atoms. Because of the small size of carbon, it will enter the iron crystal structure through interstitial diffusion. The Governing Equation for this diffusion is (C–Co)/(Cs–Co)=1–erf[ x/(2*(Dt)1/2)] . This an equation for a non–steady state diffusion process that has been derived from Fick's Second Law which describes how atoms diffuse initially at a non–steady state and has been described in: Diffusion can be used for this problem because of the carburization process that will strengthen the steel cams. Carburization is a process in which our steel cams will be heat treated in a high carbon environment. • 26. How Ceramic Cutting Tools Have Been Around For Over 100 Years David Golding Term Paper Mech 4320 Dr. Lewis Advanced Cutting Materials Ceramic cutting tools have been around for over 100 years. The most common materials used prior to this were iron and steel. These metals are effective in cutting but have limitations that ceramics do not. There are many different types of materials used in the production of ceramic–based cutting tools. The production of ceramics have seen various advancements since its birth, and continues to be more dependable as new technologies are applied to lower cost and boost efficiency in development. Advanced cutting ceramics is a $30 million (US) industry per the Department of Energy and has seen increased growth in the last 10 years. Alumina (〖Al〗_2 O_3) and Silicon Nitride (〖Si〗_3 N_4) are most commonly found in a ceramic cutting material. Their attributes differ for their own specific purpose, but they all have the same core characteristics. They all demonstrate elevated hardness, strength, and thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity is one of the main advantages in using ceramics over other materials. Ceramics can withstand temperatures over 4000℉ in its operation, while Carbide can only reach 1600℉. Cutting materials at this heat allows for the material being cut to be softened, allowing for a smoother, easier pass. These high temperatures are unattainable for carbide tools because they exceed its melting point. Ideal–machining temperatures (e.g., 2200°F for nickel alloys) can be accommodated by ... Pierre Curie he discover asymmetrical crystals like Rochelle salt and quartz can generate electricity charge once mechanical pressure is applied. So it is obtained mechanical vibrations from applying electrical oscillations to the crystals. The frequency of Ultrasonic wave should be higher than 20,000 Hz. (Sound waves). After of all of the research of ultrasonic technology the first ULTRA SONIC MACHINING (USM) built 1950 s. Ultrasonic machining use steel stools for machining tungsten carbide, glass, copper and chromium. For machining sintered carbides should use chromium nickel steel and silver tools for the application. Process Ultrasonic machining, tool of required shape vibrates on ultrasonic frequency (19 – 25 kHz.) with an amplitude of 15–50 μm over work piece. In general tool is pressed down with a feed force. Between the work and work tool, machining zone is flooded with tough abrasive particles mostly in the form of water slurry. As the tool vibrates over the work piece, abrasive particles acts as indent and indenter both tool material and work. Abrasive particles, as they indent, the work material would remove the material from both work piece and tool. In Ultrasonic machining material removal is due to crack initiation, brittle fracture of material and propagation. USM is used for machining brittle and tough materials, which are poor conductors of electricity and thus cannot be processed by (EDM) Electro discharge machining or (ECM) electrochemical machining The tool in Ultrasonic machining is made to vibrate with high frequency on to the work surface in the midst of the slurry. One of the main reason for using ultrasonic frequency is to extend preferable performance. Audible frequencies of

  • 29. Family : Love And Love Who knew something that would affect my life would happen before I was ever even born. Family is a term that most people associate with warm, safe, and loving. That was never the case in my situation due to my childhood being riddled with fights and heartache. It all started a cold night in the year 2000 two years before I was conceived. That's when two unlikely people would meet and blossom into a new relationship which would soon crumble under the pressure of a teen pregnancy, financial instability, and stress. As a child you live in a bubble of innocence where you aren't aware of the bad in the world or even in your family but there comes a point where that perfect bubble bursts and you have to face the truths. My parents tried so hard to hide the problems of their relationships from me because all they wanted me to be was a happy child. As I grew older I noticed certain things that I couldn't as a child like how my parents stopped hugging and the kisses to each other stopped. There never said I love you to each other unless we were in the same vicinity as them because of the façade they wanted to maintain. However, they never stopped loving us any differently than before which ultimately proved to me that no matter what happened my parents would never change. Being a kid, it never really occurred to me that maybe my parents didn't feel the same love to each other as they did for their kids. • 30. Success Essay : The Meaning Of Success What is success? The meaning of success is different for everyone. Being successful could be anything. It could be finishing a book, doing really well at a band competition, or even winning a state championship. Success is very personal. I think being successful is putting your best effort into something and knowing you could not do any better. Success is setting goals and completing them. John Wooden spent many years researching and perfecting his pyramid of success. Wooden's pyramid of success consists of traits like confidence, poise, and self–control. All of the traits lead to success, but I think the most important are adaptability, fight, and faith. The reason I chose adaptability is because whatever is thrown at you during a basketball game, like one of your teammates getting injured, you can't get upset over it, you have to keep playing and make the best of it. Adaptability also applies to life. You can't just give up just because something goes wrong, you have to forget about the problem and keep moving forward. I think fight is a very important trait to be successful. You have to put in your best effort and you also have to want to be successful. In cross country you can't just show up to the meet and expect to do well without even trying. You have to fight to get your place and you have to have better effort than your competitors. My third most important trait to being successful is faith. If you have no faith in yourself then how will others be able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You don't always want to do what you promised because it could be hard, or get you into trouble. Throughout the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry and Keiko's relationship comes at a cost. They make commitments that comes with sacrifices which makes them hard to keep. Through Henry and Keiko's relationship Ford shows that commitment is difficult. Keiko asks a lot from Henry, but sometimes she asks too much which can put Henry and his family at risk. When Henry meets Keiko in the park she gives him something to keep. Keeping it could potentially cause trouble for the Lee family. She wheels over a red wagon containing photos and memory books, "These belonged to my family. My mother told me to take them into the alley and burn them..... I can't do it I was hoping you might hide them for us" (Ford 95). Japanese–American families are burning their past in hopes that people will believe that they have nothing to do with Japan. They want to prove that they are American and loyal. Keiko cannot bring herself to do it, so she asks Henry for help. He agrees and takes them home because he loves her, and part of being together is helping each other out. In doing so, he puts his whole family at risk because he feels obligated to take the photos. If someone were to find those photos, Henry and his entire family could go to jail, making it difficult to keep. People do crazy things for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since starting off the book we learn that Holden is flunking out of the school he is attending currently (Pencey Prep) and he is planning to leave before the date he is supposed to and take a trip to New York. Right away this is a coming way out of left field because usually, teenagers don't go into the city for a few days unaccompanied. Before he left the school he got in a huge fight with his roommate, he kept egging him on calling him names and such and wouldn't stop even when his roommate asked nicely, he got punched but Stradlater (roommate) instantly felt remorse and said " Why the hell don'tcha shut up when I tellya to?"(pg58) He didn't want to hurt Holden but felt like he had no other choice than to hit him, and when he felt bad about it, Holden had a blank expression on his face not even considering that he was also at fault. This happens another time in the book when the prostitute and her pimp come back to Holden 's hotel room and he opens his mouth up and gets beaten up once again. Holden said " You're a dirty moron, You're a stupid chiseling moron... and you'll be–––" (p135). • 34. Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Cold Deformation Process... Cold deformation process of metals causes distortion of crystalline structure. When a material is formed, the grains are usually distorted and elongated in one or more directions which make the material anisotropic. Anisotropy can be defined as a difference in a material's physical or mechanical properties in different directions of taking of testing samples. In exploitation, it is very important to recognize the direction of grain elongation so that the best orientation of working part can be chosen. For that purpose ultrasonic testing is used. The ultrasonic velocity of the material is determined by using a digital oscilloscope under condition that thickness of the material is known. Usually used methods include cutting in two directions (transversal and longitudinal), and microstructure scanning. These methods take a lot of time. This paper suggest the use of non– destructive testing methods that can offer faster response to basic question: what is the distortion direction? Proposed method is ultrasonic testing. Ultrasonic velocity is an important acoustic parameter that characterizes each material [1]. Ultrasonic velocity in the material is determined by the type and condition of materials and external influences such as temperature and strain. He [2] dealt with the issue of measuring the speed of ultrasound in the material so that at the same time are measured the speed of ultrasound and thickness of the material in several different tubes. For this purpose, he conducted an analysis of time and frequency domain received signal. He listed all theoretical influences on the accuracy of speed of ultrasound, but not experimentally determined or estimated deviation of the actual values. Ali [3] carried out measuring the longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic velocity in the standard block and on that experimental basis he determined mechanical properties of the reference standard and calculated modulus of elasticity of ... • 35. The Effect Of Water Hardness On Our Health Introduction Water hardness is an ongoing problem across the globe. While not detrimental to our health, there are many issues that arise from having hard water in households. You may be asking, what is hard water? Isn't it all liquid? The "hardness" of water actually refers to the presence of divalent cations, or ions with a +2 charge. In drinking water, these are most commonly Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions ("Water Hardness"). Water hardness can cause a buildup of minerals on surfaces such as dishes, sinks, showers and pipes. While the aesthetic problems are not that important, the buildup in the pipes can be very harmful. The scale that builds up causes utility bills to increase because more energy is required to deliver water to its final ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The water will turn to blue when you reach this point. Once you find how many drops of EDTA it took, you can calculate the concentration of calcium and magnesium in the water, as seen in the results section. EDTA is not always precise since the turning point will often lie between drops, which can result in a large margin of error, especially for small samples. For a more accurate test, we turn to AA, or Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. This water hardness test uses a machine to aspirate the water sample. This gas then is burned in a flame, and a light of a range of wavelengths is passed through it. The machine then calculates the amount of divalent cations in the water by comparing the relative levels of light passed through the sample at each wavelength to known atomic absorption levels. You then use a trend line from known samples' readings, to figure out what the concentration of calcium or magnesium there is. These two different tests are both used in this lab so that we can be assured we've done them right. The hardness of one test should be similar to the hardness obtained from the other. Using these tests, we created a hypothesis to test. Our group was testing which part of Pennsylvania has the highest mineral content and hardness of their water. Our samples came from a Pittsburgh well (694 Forbes Rd. New Castle PA 16101), State College tap (478 E Calder Way State College PA 16801) and Philadelphia tap (6705 Springbank Lane Philadelphia ...
