I am a small carbon. I am so small that in all my life no one has ever noticed me. They may notice
the things I've been a part of but never really me. I on the other hand only observe. I watch the world
around me, and just like me the world has changed into many forms with many different colors. I've
seen the world change from a block of ice, to a never ending forest, to an earthy wasteland with
huge concrete and metal structures. I've seen the world change through many different lives. I start
my story as coal. I was a simple piece of coal in the lithosphere for millions of years. As the

After Hurricane Matthew came through in North Carolina, along with the extremely hot summer,
there was a larger amount of algae that inhabited the oceans. That is because the storm caused it to
drift from freshwater rivers into the ocean. Also with increased temperatures throughout the
summer, comes the increase of algae. While all of this was taking place, the algae inhabited many
new and different areas, including the home of many clams. That caused many problems for the
clams that lived in the areas where the algae inhabited it. Most of the clams that lived in that
particular area were all light–colored, while the algae had a dark green color, which made the clams

There were a very minimal amount of clams that had a darker shell. In this case it was a good thing,
because the birds and other predators were not able to see them as clearly as the light–colored clams.
While many of the other clams were being killed by predators these particular ones were able to
reproduce making a new generation of clams. Many of the new generation clams had a darker shell
than the previous. That is because of Darwin's theory of natural selection in regards to "survival of
the fittest." "Survival of the fittest" means, in this case, that the dark–colored clams are considered

At the intersection of Neva Road and U.S. 36 we examined three different members, the Smoky
Hill, Fort Hayes, and Codell, which belong to two different formations, Niobrara and Benton. The
Smoky Hill and Fort Hayes belong to the Niobrara formation while Codell belongs to the Benton
Formation. In the Niobrara's Smoky Hill and Benton, Inoceramid clam (giant clam) fossils were
found. These three formations are of Late Cretaceous.
The Smoky Hill Member is mainly a calcareous mudstone, a rock outcrop that looks and behaves
mostly like mudstone, but does have some characteristics of a limestone, like fizzing. The Smoky

most hidden of all all the members, making it seem more easily erodible. Sandstones are usually
deposited at a higher energy because as the energy level lowers the force can not longer hold the

paper will investigate the failure of current policies in the Venetian lagoon to promote a sustainable
yield, and aims to discover what variables of a successful common property regime are missing
from the Venetian case. The issue of common property regimes in Italy has been approached
previously by multiple economists. Casari and Plott (2003), and McKean and Ostrom (1995) have
investigated common property in the context of the unique case of the Magnifica Comunità di
Fiemme, a forestry operation in northern Italy and successful common property regime which
despite being a different resource is faced with many of the same risks and struggles as those faced
by regulators of the lagoon. Conversely, Longo (2003) and Rossetto (2000) have addressed the
failures of the current system in the lagoon. To add to the analysis, this paper will synthesize this
research to define what makes common property regimes such as the Magnifica Comunità di
Fiemme capable of sustainably producing, while the regime in the Venetian Lagoon ultimately

in our hotel. It took us 7 hours to get there. When we finally got there it was beautiful. Me and my
brother were jumping up and down in our seats at the sight of the beautiful clear blue water and the
whitest sand i've ever seen.
We got our bags out of the car, checked in, and headed up to our room. We unpacked, changed into
our swimsuits and ran as fast as we could to the beach. After swimming for approximately 30
minutes in the salty ocean my brother thought it'd be a good idea to look for pretty seashells for our
mom since mother's day was coming up. When we began to look we found some really good one's
but then we saw the one; this beautiful cracked clam. We picked it up and ran to our mom. "Mom
look, look! We found a clam for you for mother's day!" Me and my brother ecstatically said. "Aww,
how sweet, let me see." Mom said in awe. "I love it! What's inside of it? There's
something...glowing?" She said in discombobulation. She cracked the rest of the clam open and saw
a red glowing pearl shaped object.
"What's this?" Mom asked while all of us tilted our heads to the side perplexed. "It looks kinda
dangerous kids, I don't want you guys near this. You better put it back." Mom said very cautiously.

Pig: Our fetal pig which we dissected is a female who was 100 days in the gestation period and has
the length of 25 cm. In the pig dissection, we found the stomach and intestines. By the way it looks
it seems to have similar functions of the human digestive system. The stomach breaks down the
food while the intestine absorbs nutrients and water in the food. We also found the liver, pancreas,
and colon. The liver filters the blood for toxin. In the respiratory system, we found the lungs,
diaphragm, and trachea. Air goes into the snout, through the trachea, and into its lungs. The lungs

The paws of the rat held resemblance to hands. The rat was probably around 2 years old. Its facial

Basket of Clams is a watercolor done by artist Winslow Homer, in 1873 AD. Winslow Homer was
known as a Realism painter. This particular piece is a watercolor done on wove paper and it is 11 ½
x 9 ¾ in. The picture depicts two children walking the beach in a Massachusetts town with a bucket
full of clams. In the distance you can see multiple sailboats in port and the big sailboat behind the
children are there to show that this town is very driven by its boating life. There are two formal

Even though Rhode Island is one of the smallest states it has a coastline of over 400 miles and rivals
all the other coastal states in trade and shipping. Rhode Island is measured at 48 miles long and 37
miles wide. Rhode Island was founded in 1636 by Rodger Williams who along with three other
settlers were seeking more freedoms. Rodger Williams was born in London, England in 1603 and
died in 1683. Rodger Williams settled in Rhode Island with the belief of separation of state and
church and freedom of religion after he was banished to England by Massachusetts bay colony.
When he was banished he went to go live with the Narraganset Indians. In 1636 he formed a
providence. Anne Hutchinson was also banished and formed Portsmouth. Two other settlers later
formed two other providences. Later they all joined together with England's permission ... Show
Rodger Williams founded Rhode Island because he was banished for his belief. He wanted to make
a place were people could come if they had the same belief as him. He believed in the separation of
state and church. Anne Hutchinson also believed in the same thing as Rodger Williams. Rhode
Island was also a big port for trading and Shipping. It became a big port in the 19th century. Rhode
Island is nothing compared to what it is like today. Finally, Rhode Island stoke with the name for
378 years. These days you can find Rhode Island next to Massachusetts and Connecticut. People
Visit Rhode Island for it's lovely landscapes, it's offshore islands and it's wonderful clams. People
visit because of the landscapes such as Narragansett Bay. You can find the clams in Warwick, Rhode
