2. Problem statement
This a standard
Dutch master of
science student
for Integrated
Product Design
and has a busy
life.
And she needs
structure and
give priority to
her goals because it seems
she has not the
ability to do all the
things she has to do
and want to do and
make the right
choices at the right
moment for her
new job.
Stakeholder:
Needs:
Insight
Maybe she
doesn’t exactly
knows what
she wants?!
3. Student/Interviewee
Step 1 - Create TWO different prototypes.
From the three ideas you selected in the second part of the Ideate assignment, you will
either select one idea and build two different prototypes for that idea, or select two of
the ideas and build one prototype for each.
1
During prototyping, keep a brainstorming mindset, asking “what if...?” and
challenging assumptions.
• Sketching
• Building physical objects
• Role playing / skits
• Video’s
• Paper prototyping Prototy
Prototype A
• It is for free
• Very easy to realize
• Reminds her every day or when she comes in her bedroom. She cannot avoid it
With pen and paper I made a banner for her. She sticked it on a wall in
her sleeping room.
Result:
She was laughing about the idea. But it helped
very well!
4. Prototype B
• Low cost
• Easy for a software engineer to realize
• No rocket science
Make a community where
• students can share their ideas,
can find information, look foor new jobs, give them structure in
their transition proces from school to work
• Headhunters can look for students
• Employees look for students
I did make a paper prototype and showed it to students.
It was fun. I collected a lot of interesting information what they wanted or
not wanted, or already existed. It was a good idea. They where enthousiastic
5. • Looking from different perspectives
• Talking to others brings me new ideas
• Helpful for optimizing
• Prototyping and testing is FUN!
