2. Brand identity is shown through multiple unique aspects of
the product which are different to competitor’s, these
differences are often patented disallowing people to copy
them.
My magazine name is ‘Undiscover’ which is directly reflecting
an idea of my magazine being an ‘indie’ genre which includes
a lot of less popular or unknown artists and bands, by reading
the magazine people can then ‘undiscover’ these people. The
name is original and obviously gives a clear idea that the
magazine allows people to find out about new upcoming
bands and artists, this makes the magazine enticing making
passers by get attracted by it.
3. House colours are another way of giving the magazine brand
identity, this can only be done through continuity. So I
cannot gain this brand identity right from the beginning, in
order to achieve it I would have to stick to the house colours
for a long time.
As I am designing the contents page in a more creative way
compared to other magazines which will add to the brand
identity, I would be continuing with the design of the
contents page throughout all my issues and will be expected
and known to be there.
4. I would also be utilising Web 2.0. I would create a website
for the magazine allowing people to see what the issue
contains, small stories that go on through the month and
the opportunity for feedback will also be available. This
allows digital natives to find the magazine through the
website encouraging them to buy it, to keep up to date with
lots of stories in between issues as it’s a monthly basis, it
also allows the audiences to contribute ways of improving
the magazine.
