Insert Some Activities into Primavera P6
In this tutorial, we will breakdown all related works for RC structure and steel column only. It will follow
construction stage point 2 and 3 as we discussed in the previous tutorial.
2. Foundation stage
a. Soil Excavation
b. Lean concrete and spacer for concrete cover
c. Reinforcement bar installation for pad
footing/pedestal
d. Timber formwork for pad footing
a. Concrete pouring (fc’ 35 MPa)
b. Formwork dismantling
c. Curing and rectification in case any defect on the
concrete.
a. Reinforcement bar fixing for pedestal
b. Timber formwork, spacer and support installation
c. Concrete pouring
a. Formwork dismantling, curing and rectification
b. Backfill with imported soil (Limestone)
c. Soil compaction for all area.
All works detail above is not required to be transferred into Primavera P6 as project schedule.
We just highlight some major works as representative of each picture.
Let’s continue our training by finalizing “Pre‐Construction work” item. Follow previous step by
adding 3 work items as picture below and insert duration each item as per your engineering
decision. To adjust column size, we can resize it by dragging a line in a blue circle.
You can add more work items as preparation step, for instance, site office, documentation,
measurement, join site visit, project board installation, etc.

a. Timber formwork for RC Column
b. Reinforcement bar fixing
c. Concrete pouring
d. Formwork dismantling
e. Curing and rectification
a. Steel column erection and fixing on RC column
b. Steel beam connection with column
c. Roof frame installation
d. Soil Backfilling and compaction for RC Slab
e. Lean concrete
f. Wire mesh M8 installation
g. Concrete pouring
h. Curing and rectification
If we analyse construction stages above, we can divide all major jobs to be 4 WBS as below:
1. Ground beam
2. RC Slab
3. RC column
4. Steel Column and Beam
Three (3) WBS are put under ground beam and slab, whereas steel structure is described under Steel
column and beam as picture below
