The S&P CNX Nifty gained 49.85 points or 0.85% to settle at 5905.60. The index touched high and low of 5917.30
and 5859.55 respectively. 40 stocks advanced against 10 declining ones on the index.

The BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 7069.09 and gained 0.66% while Small-cap index jumped up by 0.36% to
7375.80.
The broader BSE 500 index increased to 7560.61 (up 0.75%) and S&P CNX 500 index rose to 4731.60 (up 0.78%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 2.69% at 14.10 from its previous close of 14.49 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Capital Goods (up 1.68%), Banks (up 1.36%) and Real Estate (up 1.22%) were the top
gainers.
Information Technology (down 0.17%) was the top loser.

Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 2.78%), ICICI Bank (up 2.38%), Larsen And Toubro Ltd (up 2.19%), Jindal Steel and Power Ltd
(up 2.03%) and State Bank of India (up 1.84%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 1.40%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.81%), Tata Motors Ltd (down 0.42%), Infosys Ltd
(down 0.33%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (down 0.25%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
