1. Sensex ends marginally up after dilly dallying most of the day

Markets opened slightly down than the previous close after all the Asian markets made a soft start. It regained a little
pace afterwards to trade in green. In the early afternoon session, markets again dipped in red and bounced back after
making day's low. Markets ended in positive territory with Nifty above 5880.
Westcoast Paper Mills surged 5% and was locked at upper circuit on the report of talks between a promoter and US
based International paper to buy majority stake in the company. The stock closed 5% up on BSE. United Breweries
jumped 19.20% and touched its all time high at Rs 1006.10 on BSE. The stock started the rally after it was included in
MSCI index on November 30.
PVR stock shot up to a 5 year high at Rs 341.10 and closed up by 1% on BSE. It gained 44% in 4 days post Cinemax
deal. Jet Airways today touched its fresh 52 week high at Rs 594 on NSE after reports of stake sale but closed down
by 4.59% on NSE.
Jaiprakash Associates surged 4.47% and hit its 52 week high at Rs 102.15 on BSE after it got the final forest
clearance for its coal mine. Its subsidiary, Jaiprakash Power Ventures also gained 9.77% on BSE before close.
Pantaloon Retail touched its 52 week high today at Rs 236 and closed down by 0.24% on BSE. Amidst all this,
Government and Opposition deadlocked in a debate in Lok Sabha over FDI in retail.
CRISIL and ICRA ran out of steam today after a smart run up, they witnessed amidst the news of CARE IPO which
opens on 7th December.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1605 and 1326 respectively,
while 127 scrips remained unmoved.
The BSE Sensex ended at 19348.12, up 42.80 points or 0.22%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
19373.94 and 19263.71 respectively. 11 stocks advanced against 19 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The S&P CNX Nifty gained 18.30 points or 0.31% to settle at 5889.25. The index touched high and low of 5894.95
and 5859.00 respectively. 27 stocks advanced against 23 declining ones on the index.
Sensex Nifty
The BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6992.27 and gained 0.10% while Small-cap index jumped up by 0.59% to
7381.73.
The broader BSE 500 index increased to 7513.99 (up 0.33%) and S&P CNX 500 index rose to 4701.45 (up 0.35%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.86% at 15.91 from its previous close of 15.62 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Oil & Gas (up 1.57%), Real Estate (up 0.84%) and Power (up 0.83%) were the top
gainers.
Consumer Durables (down 0.72%), Information Technology (down 0.68%) and Automobile (down 0.43%) were the top
losers.

Tata Power Company Ltd (up 4.00%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 2.49%), State Bank of India (up 1.59%), Bajaj Auto
Ltd (up 1.55%) and ICICI Bank (up 1.53%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (down 1.75%), Wipro Ltd (down 1.65%), NTPC Ltd (down 1.34%), Sterlite Industries
(India) Ltd (down 1.29%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (down 1.25%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
