1. Nifty ends near 5900; DLF rallies 5%

Following two consecutive negative endings, Indian markets opened marginally up today and remained in the green
zone throughout the day. Nifty ended the day with slim gains and missed 5900 by a whisker. Reality index (up 2%)
topped the charts on BSE sectoral front.
National Aluminum Company (NALCO) has hiked prices of its products by Rs 5000 per ton after Aluminum gained on
London Metal Exchange (LME). The stock closed 2.31% up on BSE. (News)

The BSE Sensex ended at 19501.08, up 32.93 points or 0.17%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
19554.48 and 19462.92 respectively. 17 stocks advanced against 13 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The S&P CNX Nifty gained 10.80 points or 0.18% to settle at 5898.20. The index touched high and low of 5911.00
and 5878.45 respectively. 28 stocks advanced against 22 declining ones on the index.

The BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6654.67 and gained 0.42% while Small-cap index jumped up by 0.71% to
6587.48.
The broader BSE 500 index increased to 7437.83 (up 0.29%) and S&P CNX 500 index rose to 4659.60 (up 0.27%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 6.89% at 16.29 from its previous close of 15.24 on Friday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Real Estate (up 2.08%), Capital Goods (up 1.18%) and Power (up 1.03%) were the top
gainers.
Information Technology (down 0.49%), Consumer Durables (down 0.22%) and Oil & Gas (down 0.03%) were the top
losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Tata Steel Ltd (up 2.49%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up 1.89%), Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd (up 1.76%), Larsen And
Toubro Ltd (up 1.57%) and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (up 1.47%) were the top gainers on the
Sensex.
Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (down 1.81%), Coal India Ltd (down 1.77%), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (down
1.35%), Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd (down 1.24%) and Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.17%) were the top losers on the
Sensex.
