On the day of last F&O expiry of 2012, benchmarks opened gap up with Nifty trading breaching 5900 levels. In the
afternoon session, choppy markets turned to trade in negative terrain. Markets closed in red with Nifty at 5870.
Despite of dull trade in the market, Bharti Airtel closed 0.38% up on BSE as its subsidiary Bharti Infratel will be listing
tomorrow on the exchanges with an issue price of Rs 220 per share.It remains to be seen whether Bharti Infratel will be
able to hold it's IPO price considering the fact it received a poor investor response.
Berger Paints had hit a fresh 52 week high today at Rs 164 on BSE on the reports of additional stake purchase by UK
Paints. The stock closed 1.56% down on BSE.
After CARE's listing success, PC jewellery also listed at a premium of 1.5% on NSE. The issue price was Rs 135 per
share while the stock listed at Rs 137, touched a high at Rs 154.70 and closed at 149.20, up 10.52% on NSE.
T h e market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1211 and 1675
respectively, while 137 scrips remained unmoved.
The BSE Sensex ended at 19323.80, down 93.66 points or 0.48%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
19504.40 and 19302.21 respectively. 9 stocks advanced against 21 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The S&P CNX Nifty lost 35.50 points or 0.60% to settle at 5870.10. The index touched high and low of 5930.80 and
5864.70 respectively. 14 stocks advanced against 36 declining ones on the index.
Sensex Nifty
The BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 7037.09 and lost 0.45% while Small-cap index hammered down by 0.73% to
7321.67.
The broader BSE 500 index decreased to 7528.32 (down 0.43%) and S&P CNX 500 index declined to 4706.35 (down
0.53%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 2.55% at 13.74 from its previous close of 14.10 on Wednesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Automobile (up 0.09%) was the top gainer.
Information Technology (down 0.77%), Oil & Gas (down 0.69%) and Metals (down 0.65%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.34%), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (up 0.86%), State Bank of India (up 0.74%), Dr.
Reddys Laboratories Ltd (up 0.52%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.38%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.74%), Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (down 1.68%), Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd
(down 1.59%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.57%) and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (down 1.38%) were the top losers on
the Sensex.

Reliance Industries Ltd (-21.12 points), ICICI Bank (-14.41 points), Infosys Ltd (-14.20 points), ITC Ltd (-8.83 points)
and Tata Motors Ltd (8.59 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end Reliance Industries Ltd (-5.64 points), ICICI Bank (-4.22 points), Infosys Ltd (-4.03 points), ITC Ltd (-
3.46 points) and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (-2.74 points) were the major Nifty movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
S&P CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 5889 for next session. The next support is at 5846 and on upside it has a resistance
at 5912 levels.
