Indian benchmarks ended the listless session flat with negative bias. The sentiments were cautious ahead of IIP and
retail inflation data tomorrow. The otherwise dull session marked the debut of a third stock exchange, the MCX SX,
with its equity trading platform on both the equity and equity derivatives section. Sensex lost 27 points to close in red
for eighth straight session. Nifty ended below 5900.
Globally, U.S. markets closed in green on Friday on encouraging trade data. Most of the Asian markets were closed for
trading. European indices were trading in positive.

The BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 6745.50 and lost 0.16% while Small-cap index hammered down by 0.33% to
6771.79.
The broader BSE 500 index decreased to 7472.69 (down 0.09%) and S&P CNX 500 index declined to 4677.85 (down
0.10%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 3.23% at 15.65 from its previous close of 15.16 on Friday.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, Real Estate (up 1.03%), Healthcare (up 0.68%) and Banks (up 0.33%) were the top
gainers.
Capital Goods (down 0.96%), Information Technology (down 0.48%) and FMCG (down 0.35%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Cipla Ltd (up 3.47%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 2.51%), Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd (up 2.45%), Sterlite Industries
(India) Ltd (up 2.42%) and Tata Motors Ltd (up 2.08%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
