Initial observations made on 10 students,
obtained 2 students (20%) are overweight.
Based on the results of the interview note
that the activities undertaken in addition to
studying in school is playing games,
learning extra, sitting, watching tv. In
addition, they also consume fast food such
as fried chicken sossis, sphagetti, and
hamburger as much as 3x a week.

LITERATURE REVIEW
A. Overweight
Overweight is a condition of the body where a
person's body weight exceeds normal weight.
B. Fast food
Fast food is some food there are available, fastly and
ready to eat, such as fried chicken, hamburger and
pizza.
C. Physical Activity
Physical activity is a physical movement performed
by the muscles of the body and its supporting system.
9. Hypothesis
There is a correlation between the frequency of fast food
consumption with overweight incidence on student in
Semen Padang senior high school year 2016.

school year 2016

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
Conclusion
• Almost a third of respondents with overweight (27.7%)
• All respondents have consumed of fast food in the past 1
month. Students who consumed fast food with frequent
frequencies of 48.2%. The type of modern fast food
consumed by students is fried chicken ≥2x / week.
• More than half of respondents (69.9%) perform physical
activities with the category at risk of being overweight.
• There is a significant correlation of frequency fast food
consumption with the incidence of overweight.
• There is a significant correlation of physical activity
with the incidence of overweight
18. Suggestion
For Semen Padang senior high school
– to do or play an activity such as gymnastics and exercise
together regularly to increase physical activity, so that
students can increase their activities into physical activities
with categories not risky.
– Improve student knowledge by enabling the role of UKS as a
place where students get health information
For Students
Students are expected to maintain a good lifestyle by
consuming healthy foods and doing regular physical activity.
It is advisable to students to reduce activities that only
release less energy.
For Further Researchers
It is desirable for further researchers to use this paper as a
reference and to conduct further research by examining the
amount of fast food consumed and compared with the pattern of
eating habits.
