The document describes the process used to create a film poster. A large cardboard box was spray painted black on the outside and used as a makeshift photo studio, with one side cut out to shoot pictures from that angle. This provided more realistic lighting than a green screen. An old, frightful effect was created by staining a white doll dress with fake blood to illustrate the loss of purity and innocence. Various photos were taken from different angles using lighting boxes for effect.

1. The process of making our film poster
When we began making our film poster, we needed to have a black
background; we chose to have a box as it would be easier to control the
lighting within the box. We used a large cardboard box and cut out one side,
this way it was easier to spray paint the box and so we can shoot the pictures
from this angle. We chose to do this instead of using a green screen as it looks
more realistic and the background wouldn’t look fake and edited.
We had spray panted the box outside not inside, if we had conducted it inside
it could’ve been dangerous as he fumes of the spray paint could prove harmful
to our health. Also it was less messy doing it outside as there was no
surrounding furniture or carpet.

2. After this, we had to put together a white dress for our doll and make her look
dirty and rugged. This was to create an old, frightful effect We had stained the
dress with fake blood, slightly dabbing it on the bottom of the dress. The white
dress was to illustrate Madeline’s purity and innocence and the blood stained at
the bottom was to show the innocence is gone and to hint towards the social
issue we are targeting in our film. When taking the photos we got several
different angles, taking low and high angle shots. We also used lighting boxes for
effect and a chair to hold the box to make it easier to take the shots.
