5. Plot
• Our horror films is about a orphan called Madeline who has a sad, troubling
past. As a young child a supernatural antagonist conducted female genital
mutilation (FGM) on Madeline. (We’ll hint at this idea rather than showing it)
This effected her hugely and messed with her psychologically. She gets
adopted by a couple, and while settling in and unpacking she finds a doll. This
doll was with her while being tortured by the antagonist. When pressing on the
doll, a lullaby plays. The doll and song triggers memories of her past and
takes her back. The audience will see what happened to Madeline as a child
through a series of flash backs. The FGM is a sort of sacrifice which has been
passed on through generations.
• When having dinner with her “new parents” she finds out they're going to
adopt a second child. We then see Madeline go into a room (the room that’s
going to be the room of the new child), she leaves the doll on the bed with a
note attached. This note says “enjoy”. Through the flash backs before this
we’ll see a note that’s given to Madeline too which says the same thing. This
indicates she’s given into her bad side and is now planning to “sacrifice” her
new sibling.

7. How will the film open
• The film will open with a close up of a girl swinging her legs,
we’ll hear three people having a conversation at the back
about adopting her. They’ll discuss about her troubled past.
• It’ll then cut to a over the shoulder/back shot of the parents
and girl entering their home.
8. What is the main conflict in
the story?
• The main conflict is between Madeline and her past.
Madeline will be fighting about giving into her bad side and
letting her past control her and ruin her future, or she will
forget about her past and focus on her future.
• This is symbolic of the fact everyone has a past and many
peoples bad pasts effect them and shape them to be who
they are today.
9. How will the conflict be
resolved? Will it?
• We’ve decided this conflict isn’t going to be resolved.
• Madeline will give into her bad side.
10. What are events in the story that
drive the plot and taken the action
further?
• The flashbacks, memories and images reveal things
about Madeline's back story and drives the horror as
we’ll show creepy gore in her past.
• There will be a jump scare moment when we see her
last flashback scene and we see she has become
possessed and given into her dark side.

we getting the story?
• It will mainly be from a third point of view, the audiences
point of view
• The flash backs will be from Madeline's point of view
