Botanical gardens are often run by
universities or other scientific research
organizations, and often have
associated herbaria and research
programmes in plant taxonomy or
some other aspect of botanical science.
Visitor services at a botanical
garden might include tours,
educational displays, art
exhibitions, book rooms, open-
air theatrical and musical
performances, and other
entertainment.

ECO-PARK Eco-park is an eco-industrial park or
estate is a community of manufacturing
and service businesses located together
on a common property.
Member businesses seek enhanced
environmental, economic, and social
performance through collaboration in

AQUARIUM
The term, coined by English
naturalist Philip Henry Gosse,
combines the Latin root aqua,
meaning water, with the
suffix -arium, meaning "a
place for relating to".
An aquarium (plural: aquariums
or aquaria) is a vivarium of any
size having at least one
transparent side in which water-
dwelling plants or animals are
kept and displayed.
Fish keepers use aquaria
to keep fish,
invertebrates, amphibians,
aquatic reptiles such as
turtles, and aquatic plants.

Dr. C. Beulah Jayarani
10
Contd., An aquarist owns fish
or maintains an
aquarium, typically
constructed of glass or
high-strength acrylic.
Cuboid aquaria are also
known as fish tanks or
simply tanks, while bowl-
shaped aquaria are also
known as fish bowls.
Size can range from a small glass bowl to
immense public aquaria. Specialized
equipment maintains appropriate water
quality and other characteristics suitable
for the aquarium's residents.

AIM OF SCIENCE FAIR
The students to answer a question or task, not
from a textbook but found out themselves by
conducting a range of experiments and
ongoing research in the short amount of time
allocated to them.

ADVANTAGES OF CONDUCTING SCIENCE FAIR
Spark a true
interest
Induce
creativity

USES OF FIELD TRIP
To produce civilized young men and women who
appreciate culture and the arts
It provides a common ground with more-
