2. MY QUESTIONNAIRE
• This questionnaire was posted onto social media and embedded onto my blog,
these two areas were the most commonly used websites for the target market that
my song is based within. Therefore I would be able to collect the most accurate
results because the people who would be answering would be able to give me the
best understanding of my market and how to design my music video and digipak
around it.
3. QUESTION 1
AGE
• In this question I am finding out the
age of my target audience. This
question was answered with an average
of 18 years old with a range of 17-19
year olds. This is my target market and
has allowed me to know that the rest of
the questions won’t give me biased or
inaccurate results as they wont be from
someone outside my target audience.
4. QUESTION 2
GENDER
• My target audience is shown here as
being predominantly male orientated
with some females with an interest into
James Blunt and his music. A third of
my market is male and so the music
video needs to be aimed at the male
audience due to its bigger market.

ACCESSING MUSIC VIDEOS
• With my target audience being late
teens they are more likely to use online
services to access music and other
media formats using a range of
websites and streaming services.
Therefore I would need to make my
advertising and promotions digital with
easy access downloads to boost sales
and popularity within my target
audience

PAYING FOR A CD
• This question is to find out how much I
should price my CD at to appeal to my
target market. This would therefore
mean that they would buy the CD
rather than choose not to and buy as a
different format, the average price was
£7 with a wide range of prices from £3-
£10, meaning that the audience has a
wide range of budgets and so
appealing to them all will be difficult.

MUSIC ADVERTISING
• This question will allow me to advertise
my CD in the right places to catch the
attention of my target audience. This
question allowed my audience to click
on more than one answer so that I
could see exactly where the advertising
should go.

COLOURS IN MUSIC VIDEOS
• This question is aimed at my target
audience so that when I create my
music video I can tailor it specifically to
what my audience wants, the colours
that they have chosen are very similar
and so the video will be able to appeal
to the entire market.

SOCIAL MEDIA
• Due to the low budget of my music
video I will have to upload it to online
areas that my audience use a lot and
from this question I will be able to
upload it onto social media platforms
like Facebook, so that it is viewed by
the target audience and boost its
popularity and viral opportunities.

JAMES BLUNT'S MUSIC
• This question will build up the narrative
for my music video by basing the video
around what they assume to the artist.
Therefore I will be able to create a
music video that would fit into the
stereotypical and norm ideal that James
Blunt has already created allowing me
to use his already strong fan base.

IMPORTANCE OF ALBUM ARTWORK
• This question is designed how I would
promote my digipak in magazines and
social media whether I will use the
album artwork as a major part or not.
From these results I have found that it
is high importance with 50% saying
sometimes, therefore I will include the
album artwork onto the digipak, this
will also help sales as it would be able
to be recognised when it is in stores.
12. QUESTION 10
IMPORTANCE WHEN PURCHASING
• This shows how important different factors
are to if people buy the music, the song is
the most important factor which will help
me as the song I have chosen is very
popular and well known compared to other
songs from James Blunt. As well as this
James is very well known within the genre
and is one of the biggest names which will
help boost its popularity.
• The price and genre are less important
which means that the customers aren’t very
financially constrained and they aren’t only
listening to one single genre so if I chose to
change the genre or backing track my
audience would still buy the digipak.
