2. What is a distribution company
A film distributor is the company or individual marketing the
film to their audience. For
example they would advertise their film through the cinema,
social networking sites, adverts and many more. The
reason for this is because they want to try and persuade
their target audience.
3. Examples of Distributions companies
Warner Bros.
Universal
e-one(independent) become more known due to twilight
Walt Disney
metro goldwyn mayer
Independent distributed companies are more for the cheaper films, for example e-one however they become very successful due
to the twilight saga. Whereas the “big 6” are the companies that are more financial supportive and make more successful films, for
example the warner bros done the batman dark knight trilogy.
4. Compare
The film we done is most linked to Die Hard 4.0 which is about a cyber terrorist
attack. And our film is physiological thriller/action. However Die Hard 4.0
company ident is the 20th century fox (UK) which would most likely choose our
film as they have done other action films that rely on technology such as Die
hard 4.0, taken 1,2 and 3 and technology is used in these films such as the
tracking device he uses in his movies to track who ever is taken.
Another idea if our film didn’t get chosen by the 20th century fox is the
Paramount Pictures as they have done similar movies such as shutter island as
our protagonist is mentally ill. Also iron man 2 which is an action movie which
relies on technology once again, however it’s not a physiological thriller.
5. Where is our film going to be based
We want our film to have a much wider audience than just
the United Kingdom and Ireland as our film is based about
the world wide web, therefore we think it’s appropriate to try
and sell the film world wide. The reason for this is that most
countries if not all have the internet and a computer, so we
think if we try and sell our films world wide it would get a
much bigger selling. The reason i don’t want to just
distribute our film in the UK and Irleand as i believe we
could sell our film to a much bigger audience.
6. Marketing Strategies
Our marketing strategies is very similar to any films really.
Cinema- Before the film starts our trailer will hopefully be
released before hand. Social networking site- twitter for
example would be great as you can promote your tweet.
YouTube- Youtube is the biggest video sharing website in
the world therefore we can post our trailer on youtube and
even put adverts before videos.
