• Paramount pictures is owned by Viacom. Viacom is an American global mass media
conglomerate, it is the worlds sixth largest broadcasting and cable company in terms
of revenue.
• Paramount was founded in 1912 as Famous Players Film Company and is based in
Hollywood, California
• Brad Grey is the chairman and CEO and Adam Goodman the president of
Paramount Film Group
• It has a revenue of $1.2 billion (2011)
3. Paramount Movies
Paramount have produced and distributed
many films within the genre of my film,
The Lovely Bone is a thriller kidnap film
and Psycho a horror film. However they
also try to range to a wide variety of
audience by also producing and
distributing films such as Titanic, Tin Tin
and The Wolf of Wall Street.
4. The Lovely Bones
The Lovely Bones is a film that was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was released
in 2009, directed by Peter Jackson and stars Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlber and Rachel
Weisz, it follows the story of young girl who is brutally killed and murdered and
watches over her family as well as her killer from purgatory. My film can relate to this
story as my character is kidnapped and beaten, while looking for a way to get back to
her family. The genre of The Lovely Bones is a drama/thriller, the film opening that I
have created is a thriller however it also includes themes and
conventions of a drama film.

6. Why Paramount should distribute
Taken
I think that Paramount should distribute Taken because they have distributed successful
films of the same genre before, such as The Lovely Bones and Psyhco. Taken follows
many of the convention of thriller films that are distributed by Paramount in terms of
story line, cinematography and other conventions. I think that success of these film
means that audiences trust Paramount to bring them a quality movie and this will
therefore aid this film. Paramount also offers an audience a wide range of film genres
and therefore I think that Taken has a place in its market.
