magazine issues such as 'The Village
Green Preservation Society' by The Kinks
Who is it targeted at?
 Q magazine is targeted at people around
the age of 16/17 or above. This is because
Q magazine is a little expensive for a
magazine so younger children wouldn’t
want to pay more money than usual for a
music magazine.
 The age would range from possibly
unemployed students to full/part time
working adults who are in their 20’s or 30’s
because of the different older types of
music, they might like to read about.
 From my research I found out that 60% of
men read Q magazine and only 40% of
women read Q, although this may not be
correct.
How are they targeted?
 The audience is targeted through the colour scheme as it
is red white and black which is the genre of indie rock as
it is more professional and smart looking so it attracts the
older adults as well as the younger adults.
 The images of the artists/bands on the cover target the
audience because if a younger person is a fan of e.g.
Lana Del Rey they are most likely to buy this magazine
because of this.
 Or if one of their favourite bands name is on the cover
they could buy this.

  • 3. Who is it targeted at?  Q magazine is targeted at people around the age of 16/17 or above. This is because Q magazine is a little expensive for a magazine so younger children wouldn’t want to pay more money than usual for a music magazine.  The age would range from possibly unemployed students to full/part time working adults who are in their 20’s or 30’s because of the different older types of music, they might like to read about.  From my research I found out that 60% of men read Q magazine and only 40% of women read Q, although this may not be correct.

How are they targeted?  The audience is targeted through the colour scheme as it is red white and black which is the genre of indie rock as it is more professional and smart looking so it attracts the older adults as well as the younger adults.  The images of the artists/bands on the cover target the audience because if a younger person is a fan of e.g. Lana Del Rey they are most likely to buy this magazine because of this.  Or if one of their favourite bands name is on the cover they could buy this.
