ALTERNATIVES We had come out two alternatives in order to help Sindy solve the dilemma she faced. The first alternative is expanding her
business into middle and senior level segment after 2 years. By expanding the business, Sindy will able to get more profit. This is because the
revenue that she will get from senior staff positions is higher compare to junior staff positions. The second alternative that we suggest is doing
nothing. Doing nothing means that Sindy have to continue on what she do now and just focusing on the blue collar and junior staff positions.
Alternative 1: Expand the business into middle and senior level segment after 2 years. Since on the first year of operation, Sindy are able to get an

Sindy can change her thinking from doing nothing to doing something, but not after two years. This means that, after two years, she has to
maintain on what she does now and can change it only after 5 years for example. This is because to help Sindy gain more knowledge in recruiting
agency as well as gain more money. She also will be able to gain lots of experience in doing this business. This can be an advantage for her once
she starts expands her business after 5 years because has lots of experience in recruiting agency. Besides that, Sindy also can gain loyalty from
clients on hiring company since she is focusing in just one segment. The positions is same, therefore the clients from hiring company sometimes may
also be the same. If she continuously works with the same client, the probability for loyalty from clients will be high. Clients will be loyal if they are
comfortable with the services provided. Once hiring companies feel comfortable with Easy Business, they may recommend it to others. This is an
advantage to Sindy since she can get more clients through this. Other than that, Sindy also do not have to compete with others since the competition
for blue collar positions is low compare to white collar. This can reduce the level of stress for Sindy in doing the business. She also does not have to

Since it is a prerequisite that the production area must have a comfortable atmosphere, we recommend that additional windows must be included
because it is necessary especially during baking. The temperature increases, during baking, thus there must have an exhaust vent to maintain a
proper working condition. Also, there is a private comfort room available since the baker resides within the production area. The baker is then
tasked to clean his area as well as the production area. Beside the dough mixing bin is a sink, there the baker is expected to wash his hands every
working time to ensure the quality of bread produced. Also, the water used in baking is sourced in the same sink for easy transferring of water into
the mixing bin. There is also a storage area for sacks of flour near the baker's room. D.Equipment The bakery has different machines and equipments.
They have one dough roller machine, an oven, bread slicer, weighing scale, measuring cups, dough mixing bin, trays/ pan etc. Though during power
outages, operations are interrupted but they can continue to operate in a manual slower pace. Some instances include transferring the interrupted work

The marketing function gets to be the biggest beneficiary in the sense that the contact that employees portray to the customers determines how
attractive the business becomes. More advantages lie in the multi–dimensionality that the adopted human resource practices can offer the employees.
The distinction lies on the five pillars upon which the adoption of websites and applications for the employees is based. These pillars include
empowerment, competence development, information sharing, recognition and the guarantee of fair rewards (Vivares–Vergara et al., 2016).
Empowerment would address the general orientation of the organization so that the discretion informing the day–to–day decisions and job–related
activities is in the control of the employees. The staff members would be in a position to serve their roles while bearing any additional responsibilities
and demonstrating independence on the same. The enterprise development–taking place today requires that there be increased task involvement as a
way of generating intrinsic motivation and inducing a positive work attitude (Kranz, 2014). Action plan for the functional areas The only certain way
to do that is to implement websites and applications that stimulate the necessary initiative and effort for higher performance following success in
empowerment. The bakery is seeking to increase the desired employee commitment and emotional attachment at different hierarchical levels (Ketchen
Jr. et al., 2017).

Recommendation Of The Restructuring Of Interstate Bakeries
The purpose of this memo is to offer a recommendation in the restructuring of Interstate Bakeries. This advice has been initiated at the request of
company CEO James Elesser so that he can better ascertain which option, filing for bankruptcy or seeking further mergers and acquisitions, would be
the best direction to take to counteract flailing profit margins. This is an independent recommendation made from researching the company's financial
history as well as the company's product portfolio and market segments.
Summary Interstate Bakeries has long been a leader in the bread and snack cake market. Since its inception in 1930, Interstate Bakeries has built its

This was considered a shock to most of the company's managers, who had long been part of a decentralized management system.
Restructuring Aftermath While it was foreseen that the company would initially take financial setbacks because of the reorganization, it was not
believed that the financial risks would be drastic. However, the impending report that Mr. Elesser has to present to the board will detail a net income
that will be nearly 26 million dollars in the red for 2004 (see exhibit 2)3. The blunt force restructuring met resistance on numerous fronts. First of all, the
various components of the company did not operate under the same uniformed leadership objectives. Each division was set up to look out for their own
interests and markets. When the restructuring plan that focused on a more centralized management process, many of the things that worked for one
division did not necessarily work for other divisions of the company. This left some divisions at a severe disadvantage. Another obstacle that worked
against the restructuring was the employee unions in which the company had to deal. The unions were not on board with the various downsizing and
restructuring methods. In addition, the company had to deal with a couple of different unions which posed a problem with negotiating tactics. Benefit
costs were also a significant investment that did not hold up well under the auspice of restructuring.

Effective Alternatives Analysis in Mediation:...
BATNA: Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement
WATNA: Worst Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement
Popular Attribution to Fisher & Ury, Getting to Yes.
Introduction:
In most settlement negotiations, parties are influenced consciously or unconsciously by their assessment of their alternatives to a negotiated
agreement. The better their alternatives, the more they may push for a more favorable settlement. The worse their alternatives, the more
accommodating they may be in the settlement negotiations. Unfortunately, parties frequently fail to undertake an accurate and comprehensive analysis
of their alternatives and, therefore, negotiate poorly based on unrealistic and uninformed ideas of what they might obtain in the absence of a ... Show

The analysis assists the parties in deciding if a particular resolution is in their best interests or not. It also helps mediators to ground parties in reality
and prevent impasse by focusing them on actual possibilities rather than unformulated dreams.
In some cases, a party will reject a proposed resolution even though the probable alternatives are clearly less attractive in a "business" sense. However,
the exercise is still useful in this instance because:
1. The parties are making their choices having considered and with full knowledge of these probable alternative outcomes (i.e. "with their eyes wide
open").
2. The exercise highlights the existence of other interests, beyond "business" sense, that are driving the party. Knowledge of these interests may be
helpful to continued negotiation. At a minimum, parties gain clearer understanding of their interests and the value they are placing upon them.
Mediators should also keep in mind that they may have different values, risk tolerance levels and approaches to decision–making than the parties and
take care to respect those differences. Again, the purpose of the analysis is to educate and promote informed decision–making, not to force settlement
or impose the mediator's idea of what makes sense.

WHAT IS PERJURY?
Perjury is the "willful and corrupt taking of a false oath in regard to a material matter in a judicial proceedings." It is sometimes called "lying under

Zaheera Sheikh is not a only example of someone allegedly having committed "perjury" there are majority of cases in which witnesses give false

If the Indian courts started taking action against falsehood the case of perjury would outnumber all other categories of cases. But the Best Bakery Case,

Under section 191, of the Indian Penal Code, perjury is defined as "giving false evidence". The person is prosecuted to have given false statement at
some point, but hardly anyone, including legal experts, can recall a single case before Best Bakery Case and the Jessica Lal murder case in which a
person was prosecuted for making a false statement before the court.
Under section 191 of the IPC, an affidavit is evidence and a person swearing to a false affidavit is guilty of perjury, which is punishable of

Dominant Economic Characteristics Of The Specialty Baking...
What are the dominant economic characteristics of the specialty baking market? How strong are each of the five competitive forces confronting
Sift and other specialty bakers? Explain. Economic characteristics of the specialty baking market include: Market size and growth rate, scope of
competitive rivalry, and market segmentation. Market Size and Growth Rate: The current average spending on bakery products in 2009 was
$303.75, with an expected increase to $351.50 by 2014. Before the recession hit, retail bakery sales were expected to grow 8.1% per year through
2014; however, the cupcakes and cakes segment was the only segment of the bakery products market that did not decline. Mintel research projected
sales to ruse another 20% in the cupcake sector–probably due to national trend introduced in 2005, when New York's Magnolia Bakery was
popularized through "Sex in the City." Scope of Rivalry: Although local and national companies produce bakery items, it seems most rivalry would
come from local competitors offering the same 'atmosphere' and 'experience' as Sift would offer. With the expansion of 'local' feeling shops, such as
Sprinkles, native neighborhood shops, like Sift, could feel high competition, because those shops have the same 'atmosphere' and 'OMG' factor, while
having the brand recognition. Market Segmentation: Specialty bakery is a sub–segment of the bakery market. According to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics, the specialty segment attracted the audiences

Support Alone Essay
The usefulness of just using support alone will only tell you how many times each item appear together based on the transactions in the bakery.
The support values are smaller than I expected. The highest support is 0.053 (Apricot Danish & Cherry Tart). So the highest frequency an item in
the bakery appears together is only 5.3%. This might be the case because depending on a customer's "sweet tooth" the purchase may be different or
the bakery has a different special going each day. I do not believe we can judge itemsets just on support alone, again because it is only base on when
items appear together. For transaction number 113, it supports if you buy, Coffee Г‰clair, Hot Coffee, and Almond Twist, it would have a 99.8%

The reason why I would choose these is based on the confidence and lift. These rules seem like they would be actionable based on each of these

It can also have Number 114 – the support is 2% that (Raspberry Cookie, Raspberry Lemonade, Lemon Lemonade, Green Tea) will appear together

Panera Bread Company (2010): Still Rising Fortunes?
I.Introduction
Panera Bread Company got its start when in 1980 Louis Kane and Ronald combined Au Bon Pain and the Cookie Jar bakery to form one company. By
combining their individual strengths they were able to work as a team and expand the business, decrease company's debt and centralize facilities for
dough production (Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman & Bamford, 2015). In 1993 the company acquired the Saint Louis Bread Company. With the three
companies now working as one the company eventually became the Panera Bread Company with 1464 bakery cafes in 2010 including one in Ontario,
Canada. Today Panera Bread has a board of directors that consists of six members divided into three classes of membership.
Executive Summary
Summary statement of the problem: The Panera Bread Company has made a name for itself by offering quality, nutritious meals to its customers. You
can eat at Panera Bread without worrying if you are getting a healthy, nutritious meal. With today's health conscious society this has served the company
well. With the rise in other health food type restaurants, the question arises is Panera Bread's current strategy enough to keep them on top? In order to
continue to succeed, Panera Bread needs to branch out into the foreign markets, add some key

Ethical Dilemmas Of The Workplace
1. Discuss an ethical dilemma that you have had to face in the workplace. Ethical dilemmas often occur when a manager or an employee is faced with
two or more conflicting choices. Give as many facts and details as possible in describing your dilemma.
The most difficult ethical dilemma I have dealt with was a summer job I had this past summer, while I was working for a bakery in my hometown.
This past particular summer really tested what I believe is right and wrong and how to speak up. One of my good friends mother owns a bakery and
cafe shop in our hometown. It is a very respectable and well known place, because of how the business got started. Linda, my good friends' mother,
was always baking something delicious and would always have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some days Linda, the owner, would leave and go on errands for the bakery or would get migraines and go home for the day. Nothing would change
when she left other than the fact of locking up. There was only one manager who has worked in the bakery since the day it opened, Taylor. Taylor
was a kind hearted soul who would help anyone in need. She would always be willing to stay late or come in early with a smile on her face. I looked
up to this method and copied this in my work with the bakery.
One day a couple came in telling Linda that they forgot to order a cake for their wedding that was two days away. Linda completely understood the
situation and of course said yes. Once she told us I was the first one that said I would stay late and help make the wedding cake. Linda and Taylor
were both happy because they both knew they needed the help. Later that day when we started baking the cake Linda got a migraine and had to
leave and go home, so Taylor and I continued on working on the cake. It was getting kind of late so we found a stopping point. After cleaning up
and closing down for the night I hung my apron and said I would see her in the morning. Once I got to my truck I released I forgot my phone inside
and luckily Taylor did not lock the door yet. I went back inside to look for where I left it. I could not find it in the back where we were baking nor
could I find Taylor, which I thought was a little odd. I headed to the front to see if

The moral agent is then ignored about the situation and it continues. Will anyone be harmed if this alternative is chosen? If so, how will they be

Questions On Criminal Procedure Code
4.12 Section 433 Criminal Procedure Code – Power to commute sentence
Referring, to pardon it means to forgive a person of his offence. The word 'pardon ' has been defined as an act of grace, advancing from the power
assigned with the execution of the law, which excuses the individual on whom it is conferred upon, from the punishment the law imposes for a crime
he has committed. It affects both the punishment proposed for the offence and the guilt of the offender.
In other words, grant of pardon wipes off the guilt of accused and brings him to the original position of innocence as if he had never committed the
offence for which he was charged. Under Indian law, the President of India and the Governors of States have been given the power to grant pardons,
reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence. The law governing grant of pardon is contained in
Articles 72 and 161 of the Constitution.
4.12(1) Granting of pardon may be of two kinds.
Absolute
Absolute pardon may mark out the guilt itself. It does not lead to an acquittal unless the Court directs. The accused is discharged permanently without
demanding any condition to be fulfilled.
Conditional
In conditional pardon, the offender is let off subject to certain conditions. The violation of these conditions will lead to renewal of his sentence and he
shall be exposed to the unexhausted portion of his punishment.

situation and what Panera Bread must do to strengthen its competitive advantage against rival chains.

In this case Panera Bread has set itself apart from its rivals by offering specialty type foods that are outside the norm. The bakery menu offers
pastries and sweets, granola parfait, baked egg soufflГ©s, breakfast sandwiches and of course, freshly baked breads to include bagels. They also
have a cafГ© menu that offers hand tossed salads, sandwiches, drinks, and soups. To top things off, they even offer a kids menu, so Panera Bread
caters to the entire family. Panera Bread Company went as far as starting a catering program to extend its market reach (Thompson, Strickland, &
Gamble, 2008, pC–92). "Everyone enjoys choices, especially when they're fresh, fun and spontaneous. Right now at Panera Bread, there are plenty of
tempting selections to captivate, tantalize and energize your bread–lover's soul as we celebrate the delicious rewards of the baker's craft" (Panera
Bread, 2009). What competitive edge does Panera Bread have if any? Panera is attempting to achieve a longer lasting, more profitable competitive
advantage by their capability to offer unique or specialty type items. Also, their commitment to put there all into everything they offer their customers.
For example, Panera offers 4 different flavors of coffee, dark and light roast, hazelnut, and decaf. What is important is the work they put into making
the coffee. "We believe that coffee is sacred. And that making it requires the utmost attention–from the bean to the cup. So we roast our coffee beans in

A SUPPLY CHAIN PROBLEM
We are currently analyzing how best to combine transportation and warehousing to serve the
Alberta market.
The decision that has to be determined is whether to have either one or two warehouses.
Given the current Alberta business, and given the newly acquired Calgary operation, should a new packaging and warehousing facility be built or
acquired in Edmonton, or should reliance be solely on the currently underused Calgary facility. In a decision such as this, we performed ... Show more

Panera Bread Case Study Essay
In 1993, AU Bon Pain Company purchased the Saint Louis Bread Company. In 1995, top management at Au Bon Pain instituted a comprehensive
overhaul of the newly–acquired Saint Louis Bread locations. The overhaul included altering the menu and the dining atmosphere. The vision was to
create a specialty cafe anchored by an authentic, fresh–dough artisan bakery and upscale quick–service menu selections. This acquisition proved
successful for Au Bon Pain. Between 1993 and 1997, average unit volumes at the revamped locations increased by 75% and over 100 additional
locations were opened. In 1997, the bakery–cafes were renamed Panera bread in markets outside of St Louis. The Panera business plan had worked
well and management concluded it had broad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Panera knows what it's good at and has used that as their foundation. Their menu was designed to provide target customers with products built on the
company's bakery expertise. They specialized in fresh baked goods, made–to–order sandwiches on freshly baked bread, soups, salads, custom roasted
coffees, and other cafe beverages. They offer over 20 varieties of bread.
Unlike some if its competitors, Panera is in tune with its customer's changing preferences. They are responsive to the various seasons of the year,
offering seasonal menu rotations, referred to as "Celebrations." Offering something new and fresh is a great way to sustain your regular customers and
to bring in new customers. Panera is wise in their introduction of new menu items. Prior to system wide rollouts, new items are developed in test
kitchens and then introduced to a limited number of bakery–cafe locations to determine customer response and verify that preparation and operating
procedures resulted in product consistency and high quality standards.
In addition to seasonal items, Panera has answered its health conscious consumers' needs. They have introduced whole grain breads and switched to the
use of natural, antibiotic–free chicken in all of its chicken–related sandwiches and salads. They also added light entrees to jump–start dinner appeal and
egg soufflГ©s to expand their breakfast offerings and help

Assessment Task 2: Plan marketing activities
In this assignment I would like to discuss Lavender bakery locating in Malaysia.
Conduct research on trends in the industry within which the company operates and provide a brief analysis of these trends and the relevance to the
company's activities.
Combining CafГ©, bakery and bistro in one store: Lavender flagship store not only provide bakery and fine dessert but also providing coffee and light
meal for the customers. The other stores are providing the most popular and suitable service and meals according to the location.
High–end atmosphere: by creating a sense of high–end atmosphere, customer can enjoy the environment in the store and feel more relax when chilling
and having meals there. The average item price can be set at a comparatively high range.
Network connection: The store is providing free Wi–Fi for the customer so that they can spend longer time in the store and to purchase more.
Innovation of new product: the store is keep innovating new types of food and bread for the customers in order to satisfy their desire of tasting new
and high quality food.
Review and consider previous marketing activities as identified in the Marketing Plan.
Distribute free sampling to attract customers: not quite effective as there's no focus for the promotion
Maintaining website, to provide more information to customers: not easily to search as the store can only be searched by

Easy Business Financial Analysis

  • 1. Easy Business Financial Analysis ALTERNATIVES We had come out two alternatives in order to help Sindy solve the dilemma she faced. The first alternative is expanding her business into middle and senior level segment after 2 years. By expanding the business, Sindy will able to get more profit. This is because the revenue that she will get from senior staff positions is higher compare to junior staff positions. The second alternative that we suggest is doing nothing. • 24. Dominant Economic Characteristics Of The Specialty Baking... What are the dominant economic characteristics of the specialty baking market? How strong are each of the five competitive forces confronting Sift and other specialty bakers? Explain. Economic characteristics of the specialty baking market include: Market size and growth rate, scope of competitive rivalry, and market segmentation. Market Size and Growth Rate: The current average spending on bakery products in 2009 was $303.75, with an expected increase to $351.50 by 2014. Before the recession hit, retail bakery sales were expected to grow 8.1% per year through 2014; however, the cupcakes and cakes segment was the only segment of the bakery products market that did not decline. Mintel research projected sales to ruse another 20% in the cupcake sector–probably due to national trend introduced in 2005, when New York's Magnolia Bakery was popularized through "Sex in the City." Scope of Rivalry: Although local and national companies produce bakery items, it seems most rivalry would come from local competitors offering the same 'atmosphere' and 'experience' as Sift would offer. With the expansion of 'local' feeling shops, such as Sprinkles, native neighborhood shops, like Sift, could feel high competition, because those shops have the same 'atmosphere' and 'OMG' factor, while having the brand recognition. Market Segmentation: Specialty bakery is a sub–segment of the bakery market. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the specialty segment attracted the audiences ... The support values are smaller than I expected. The highest support is 0.053 (Apricot Danish & Cherry Tart). So the highest frequency an item in the bakery appears together is only 5.3%. This might be the case because depending on a customer's "sweet tooth" the purchase may be different or the bakery has a different special going each day. A case study prepared for MG495 Business Policy Instructor Platt Gloria Panhorst January 22, 2015 Panera Bread Company (2010): Still Rising Fortunes? I.Introduction Panera Bread Company got its start when in 1980 Louis Kane and Ronald combined Au Bon Pain and the Cookie Jar bakery to form one company. By combining their individual strengths they were able to work as a team and expand the business, decrease company's debt and centralize facilities for dough production (Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman & Bamford, 2015). In 1993 the company acquired the Saint Louis Bread Company. With the three companies now working as one the company eventually became the Panera Bread Company with 1464 bakery cafes in 2010 including one in Ontario, Canada. Ethical dilemmas often occur when a manager or an employee is faced with two or more conflicting choices. Give as many facts and details as possible in describing your dilemma. The most difficult ethical dilemma I have dealt with was a summer job I had this past summer, while I was working for a bakery in my hometown. This past particular summer really tested what I believe is right and wrong and how to speak up. One of my good friends mother owns a bakery and cafe shop in our hometown. Taylor was a kind hearted soul who would help anyone in need. She would always be willing to stay late or come in early with a smile on her face. I looked up to this method and copied this in my work with the bakery. One day a couple came in telling Linda that they forgot to order a cake for their wedding that was two days away. Linda completely understood the situation and of course said yes. Once she told us I was the first one that said I would stay late and help make the wedding cake. Linda and Taylor were both happy because they both knew they needed the help. Later that day when we started baking the cake Linda got a migraine and had to leave and go home, so Taylor and I continued on working on the cake. It was getting kind of late so we found a stopping point. After cleaning up and closing down for the night I hung my apron and said I would see her in the morning. Once I got to my truck I released I forgot my phone inside and luckily Taylor did not lock the door yet. I went back inside to look for where I left it. • 42. Questions On Criminal Procedure Code 4.12 Section 433 Criminal Procedure Code – Power to commute sentence Referring, to pardon it means to forgive a person of his offence. The word 'pardon ' has been defined as an act of grace, advancing from the power assigned with the execution of the law, which excuses the individual on whom it is conferred upon, from the punishment the law imposes for a crime he has committed. It affects both the punishment proposed for the offence and the guilt of the offender. In other words, grant of pardon wipes off the guilt of accused and brings him to the original position of innocence as if he had never committed the offence for which he was charged. Under Indian law, the President of India and the Governors of States have been given the power to grant pardons, reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence. The law governing grant of pardon is contained in Articles 72 and 161 of the Constitution. 4.12(1) Granting of pardon may be of two kinds. Absolute Absolute pardon may mark out the guilt itself. It does not lead to an acquittal unless the Court directs. The accused is discharged permanently without demanding any condition to be fulfilled. Conditional In conditional pardon, the offender is let off subject to certain conditions. The violation of these conditions will lead to renewal of his sentence and he shall be exposed to the unexhausted portion of his punishment. 4.12(2) Jurisprudence of Granting pardon The philosophy ... In addition to seasonal items, Panera has answered its health conscious consumers' needs. They have introduced whole grain breads and switched to the use of natural, antibiotic–free chicken in all of its chicken–related sandwiches and salads. They also added light entrees to jump–start dinner appeal and egg soufflГ©s to expand their breakfast offerings and help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
