Design Evaluation and Selection
After evaluating the planned design I was flabbergasted due to the obtained results. This design
has what it takes to be produced and chosen for the spreading of usefulness of the chosen
technology, which are gamma rays. There are essentially no problems except for not incorporating
enough information regarding the technology in it. in reality I actually decided not to put this
information as I thought that it would have made too mind-numbing the film, but as our main task
is to inform people about the technology I suppose that I shall have to include it.
As you can see from the above table the first design is actually very well made. In fact I have
managed to produce a storyboard, which will result in a proper video, which has fundamentally no
problems. Though I need to keep in consideration one factor, its creativity and the colours not
used. In actual fact one of the key aspects that a poster should have is that the story had to be
very understandable and unfortunately this particular design hasn’t achieved this goal. In addition
to this the slides lasted longer than 10 seconds. Because of this, if I decide to actually produce this
particular project I will have to make some changes.

7. Yet again another reliable design was produced by me. This has everything it takes to be used for
an amateur short-movie for the understanding of the technology. The most important features
that a video should have been cleverly incorporated, though I could have filmed some more
humorous scenes as these would have made the video more ironic, though still maintaining its
professionalism. In addition I could have written something more about the technology, as doing
so would have informed moremy viewers about gamma-rays.
This can be considered to be a mediocre poster. In fact it is lacking many of the most important
characteristics that a video should have. These are: making it interesting to watch and give a
message, which in this case is the knowledge in gamma rays, to the possible viewers. Regarding
makinga more detailed explanation of the technology wouldn’t be such a big deal, though making
it become more interesting means re-designing it all, which implies it to become a different, hence
new design.
At the end of the day I have decided to produce design number one.This is what I call absolute
perfection. After looking in a detailed way to the design specification, and checking what my client
wants I have managed to produce a video which can be considered to be of high-quality. This
contains important information about the chosen technology, it contains humour, and is
interesting, but at the same time it has a clear and creative storyline, and this is the reason for
which I might end up producing this as my final product. I have managed to include scenes which
inform people about gamma rays without making it boring, and this will make my viewers pleased
to view it. Information slides related to the technology have been cleverly positioned in order to
grab even more the viewer’s attention. The general storyline is tidy as I have ingeniously
integrated with the video costumes and props which make the video more precise. On the other
hand I will just have to write a tod bit more about the technology itself , but, apart from this, the
storyline of the video is perfect. Everything that my viewers might want has been amalgamated
with what I deliberately planned, hence this is the reason for which I decided to produce this
video.
Evaluation of my performance
Throughout the course of this particular section of the design cycle I can, without any doubts,
consider myself to have given 100% in everything I did. First of all I have produced a variety (4) of
storyboards which will permit me to achieve a high grade. I have drawn these sketches very
accurately, though they were meant to be roughly made, without even missing a single detail. In
addition to this all of these schemes were labelled and explained, and were also compared to the
design specification, in order to see if a good job had been made; to do this I had to produce a
chart. Moreover I also compared the pros and cons of each single storylines in order to understand
what would have been the best product to create. This was done as so an outstanding piece of
movie would have been produced and this would have attracted the attention of people which
would have then watched this short-film. This section has been really challenging as I am not a

8. good drawer; due to this it took me a lot of time in order to actually come up with 4different ideas
of how my movie could have ended up looking. When all said and done I am proud of what I have
gone through and I hope that my ICT teacher will be able to judge what I have done for the effort
and the quality that I have put in my work.

After working many hours on the Investigate and Design section I have finally managed to arrive at
the plan section of this project. The first task that I had to do was to schedule what I would have
done in the near future for this project, in addition to this I also had to clarify the amount of time
that it might have taken me to do each single task. This is the reason for which we were forced to
produce a Gantt chart. Type of bar-chart that shows both the scheduled and completed work over
a period. A time-scale is given on the chart's horizontal axis and each activity is shown as a
separate horizontal rectangle (bar) whose length is proportional to the time required (or taken) for
the activity's completion. In project planning, these charts show start and finish dates, critical and
non-critical activities, slack time, and predecessor-successor relationships. Because of this it is very
useful for planning. In my opinion my chart can be considered to be respectable. I think this as I
have included each single little detail of what I’ll have to do. Besides this I have also divided my
Gantt chart in two sections, one refers to the task itself (it is depicted by a green line) and the
other bar refers to all the jobs that have to be done within the main task (red line). All things
considered this graph was ultimately done to help me manage my time, and I think that I have
been capable of doing this.

After concluding the Gantt chart we had to produce a step-by-step plan. This type of planning
enables whom will create something, in my case an informative video on gamma rays, to be more
organized and know exactly what to do when being in the create section. In addition to this in a
step-by-step plan you also have to include the resources, such as designs, and tools, for instance
HD video camera, needed for the actual creation of your product. In my opinion I have created an
excellent plan. I do believe this as I have specified many aspects which will enable even someone
else to follow, hence create what I have thought about. To do this I had specify each single detail,
such as the length of the video, special effects needed, where actors and props had to be
positioned,. Besides all of this I have included in what font, size and colour text containing
information on gamma rays should have been done. I also specified in which angels the video
should have been shot. I have also wrote all the resources and tools needed; fortunately there
wasn’t much stuff that had to be mentioned.
As I was doing this step-by-step plan I realized that there were some mistakes with what the
design previously created. This is the reason for which I decided to improve them, hence I had to
make some modification which can be considered to be necessary at this stage to my original
design. these changes include: adding more information hence other slides, change the font of this
information and also change the font of the information which will be written thus showed in the
video. I decided to alter my original project as I saw that there were some big mistakes. For
instance the fonts for the depicting of the information had to be changed. This instead of being
Bauhaus 93was changed to Cambria. This was done as it was more visually appealing than the
other font and it was also more professional and easy to read. Besides all of this I decided to
incorporate more scenes in which I described the effects and importance of gamma rays. I also
added other scenes in which humour was present. This was done due to the fact that the viewers
of the videos had to be focused and interested in the video and not lose the momentum of the
video . All of this was done to make the final outcome of my video really visually appealing, so that
even a larger amount of people could comprehend the importance and usefulness of gamma rays,
in a humorous yet professional way.
