6. All the images in this image bank for close up I have chosen because I feel that they all
show close up in different ways and I wanted to show a range of close up image. Most of
the images above are images that I feel I could take inspiration from and could produce
my own version of. Close up is a very broad title and I feel all the images above show
most of the different aspects I could photography in this project.
The image that I would like to try in the studio is the image of the babies face because I
like the soft focus (or depth of field) and the selective colour that has been used to create
this image. I think the composition really works to show the two eyes of the baby but also
create the depth of field. I also like that the image has been cropped to only show from
the babies mouth to its eyebrows and I think this really works for this image and the
different techniques used.
The image of the end of the elephant trunk on the floor I really like because it feels like
there’s a story that goes with the image and that the image is only a snippet of the big
picture. The image is in black and white and I believe this makes the story more realistic
and sadder to look at. The black and white also shows the shadows and tones in the
elephant’s trunk. The image also shows depth of field and this draws the viewer’s eyes to
the main subject the elephant’s trunk on the ground.
In media a close up shot is said to be from the shoulders upwards and I want to do shots
that are extreme close ups and just portrait images and I think with this range I can
create 10 good shoots.
