1. Question 6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
I have used a variety of different technologies software’s in the proses of constructing my magazine
pages.
The main computer software I have used consists of Photoshop and Microsoft office. The majority
of my magazine was construed in Photoshop. It has helped me in all areas of making my magazine
pages come to life. For example the layout. It applied the Gutenberg design principle that I took from
my research, this help my magazine have a professional edge as it it’s a common convention of
music magazines. This also enhances my ability to apply rule of thirds to the image as this makes it
more athletically pleasing for the target audience. Also image manimpliation is a major factor to my
experience on Photoshop. I did this by using human saturation and experimenting with the levels
and the brightness. This enhances the image and made my work look more professional.
The other computer software I used was Microsoft office to analyse band images fro my primary
research. I import the images and annotated round them. I have used PowerPoint to form power
points.
In the construction proses I used a Nikon digital SLR camera to take my images so I could insert them
on my magazines. I used the F-stops on the camera this help me focus on the person I was
photographing .I used a fast shutter speed as it let more light into the image and made it look bright
and more natural. Also using professional camera it help me apply the rule of thirds and allowed
me to frame my image correctly. I used studio lights to catch the light on the person I was
photographing to capture the detail that I wanted to archive in my overall image.
Additional resources I used was online digital technologies. For example blogger. This helped me
displayed my work in a professional manor. I embed aspects of my work from additional online
digital technologies for example sound cloud, prezi and voki. Prezzi allowed me to display my work in
a unique was as an additional format of my work.
