Beat Music Video
Brief: To create a music video using all of our own shots, props, artists and ideas that
follow the typical conventions of the chosen genre, in this instance the pop/indie.
Aim: To create a successful music video to the song by the indie duo Oh Wonder
called “Technicolor beat”
Description of your intentions:
The song is around 4 minutes long and has a very meaningful story behind the lyrics
so I shall be featuring a variety of exciting shots with different props. I want to keep
my music video similar to Oh Wonders own style of work so I have based my
storyline around something I feel they would do which includes a lot of narrative with
a small amount of performance. The song will play in time with the narrative so the
visuals and lyrics link. The cuts will be time with the beat of the music to ensure that
the video looks as professional as possible. I will film in the black box so that my
performance clip will have a grunge and dramatic effect as it will look like a
professional studio. I will then film some clips outside so my video also includes
natural lighting.
Target Audience:
My target audience will be off the pop/indie fan based as this is the genre of song.
This will enable my target audience to be wide as many of the audience will have an
interest in Oh Wonder already so know there song and give my video a watch.
Additionally my target audience will also be young adults due to the use of alcohol
and a story line that younger people may not understand / relate to.
