2. There were many in
which we attracted and
addressed our audience
using our media
product. Our target
audience are teenagers
and young adults so we
ensured that our media
product was designed
especially for this target
audience, we decided
on our target audience
when we looked at
other films that also
follow this target
audience, for example
films like Clueless and
The Proposal.
3. Once we had known
our target audience we
aimed to fulfil this by
attracting this type of
audience. We attracted
our audience by
following the typical
conventions of a rom-
com, for example, we
kept our camera angles
simple to keep the focus
on the content of the
film opening.
4. We also used content of the film that we knew
would attract teenagers like parties. However, we
also attracted our audience by using elements that
are not so common with the theme of rom-coms
and of our target audience which is teenagers and
young adults. For example, we used the lighting
as an unusual convention. We used both the light
and the dark in our 2 minute opening. This
symbolises the idea that time has passed.
5. We also included music that our audience
would like (pop-rock) and may buy on CD or
download as well as having a main character
the audience can relate to as she is the same age
and gender as our target audience.
