This Assignment Was Difficult For Me Since I Just Moved
This assignment was difficult for me since I just moved to a town and I know no one. In fact, I was
starting to wonder if I'd be able to hit the requirements since up until yesterday I'd only had 1
interaction with someone for 15 minutes. But between a rock hounding lecture meet up yesterday
and the sun today, I was able to have a few face to face conversations with people.
The first observation was with the co–owner of the RV park I'm staying at. My neighbor informed
me the park may hire a couple people in June in exchange for their space rent. This lead me to
Brian, where we engaged in a 30–minute conversation about all the things I need to know living
here, such as where the best agates were, what spring break and summer activities they ... Show

The change in her facial expression from relaxed to uh–oh back to relaxed was only a couple
seconds, but it conveyed that Brian's phone call wasn't going to be pleasurable.
My next observation was Laura, a local geologist, business owner, and rock guru! Laura is offering
rock collecting lessons on the beach to educate people on the different rocks of the Oregon Coast as
well as beach and rock collecting safety and laws. Due to the downpour of rain at the time, Laura
canceled the beach rock collecting but invited me and the other guy that showed to her store so she
could tell us about a new geological find. At her store, Laura started explaining that scientists have
discovered granite on the Oregon Coast that dates back to an eruption from Yellowstone, I think she
said around 15 million years ago. As the lava flowed towards the ocean it picked up and deposited
rocks along the way which explained a long puzzle they had of how Idaho Idaho geodes and crystals
were in the Pacific Ocean. This new find is huge in the geological field which was evident by
Laura's facial expression. She didn't even have to mention how important this finding is as her face
conveyed it all. She was very animated as she spoke, her arms moving in unison to her verbal
communication (for example she'd make wavy signals with her hands almost every time she talked
about the lava flows). While Laura talked, she alternated between showing excitement in her facial
features (eyes

The Purpose Of Makeup
Makeup: what is the point? Most women enjoy putting on their makeup for special occasions, such
as weddings, dances, or nights out, or their day–to–day normal life, but no one knows the true
purpose of makeup. Sure we use foundation and concealer to cover up blemishes, but why not
celebrate and embrace the fact that we are humans and humans have acne? Wearing makeup for the
purpose of covering up acne and imperfections are not the only reasons women wear it. They enjoy
feeling beautiful and confident, being more attractive, and because they just enjoy putting makeup
on. Women like to wear makeup because they may feel more beautiful and more confident about
themselves. Makeup can allow women to cover up their blemishes which they may feel embarrassed
about. For example, there may be some redness on a woman's face that she may want to cover up.
She may want to cover up the bags under their eyes or the dark circles because they may have not
have gotten very much sleep or any sleep at all. According to Cosslett from The Guardian, "Makeup
can be a mask you hide behind that gets you ready to face the world, or something you deploy as a
weapon – to attract a partner, to intimidate, shock, and amaze" (Cosslett). Makeup is a way to mask
insecurities or be used to enhance facial features like the cheek bones, eyes, or lips. Women wear
makeup for a variety of reasons; one of them being because women like to feel more beautiful.

Non Verbal Communication And Nonverbal Communication
One of the areas studied in psychology is the use of Non–Verbal Communication (NVC). According
to the Collins dictionary, this is defined as 'those aspects of communication, such as gestures and
facial expressions, that do not involve communication, but which may include non–verbal aspects of
speech itself (accent, tone of voice, speed of speaking, etc)'. Used daily by humans and animals
(Darwin 1972), NVC has a strong link to innate factors, and messages are sent unconsciously to the
listener. Through body language, we can deliver simple messages which can aid or replace speech,
show attitude or emotion, and with 55% of what we say being delivered through body language, and
38% dedicated to tone, it can sometimes contradict our verbal ... Show more content on

The study was carried out by collecting photographs, drawings and video footage to allow for a
large sample of international gestures, and as there were no guidelines for judging NVC at this time,
we are not able to question the validity of these approaches. It was noted in the study that when
filming, and asking people to repeat gestures, the actions became more awkward and unnatural,
therefor procedures where changed to ensure only first, natural performances of the gesture were
recorded.
The findings showed that they hypothesis was correct as in there are differences in gestures across
the cultures, but there can also be variations within that cultures. It also discovered that to collect
accurate recordable data, video footage was the best option. This was due to photographs and
drawings not giving enough information for someone to repeat the gesture correctly. Still drawings
do not show the full motion of the gesture, the facial expression that coincides with it or the speed at
which the gesture is delivered. The advantage of filming also meant that footage could be reviewed
to allow even small gestures being noted. Findings were delivered in a short film 'A World of
Gestures – Culture and Non–Verbal Communication' and highlights that in Japan, if you point to the
side of your head, by your ear, with your index finger, and circle your finger anti–clockwise, this
means "crazy". However, the same

ABSTRACT :
Extracting and understanding of emotion is of high importance for the interaction among human and
machine communication systems. The most expressive way to display the human's emotion is
through facial expression analysis. This paper presents and implements an automatic extraction of
facial expression and emotion from still image. There are steps to detect the facial emotion; (1)
Preprocessing, skin color segmentation and edge detection using Sobel filtering and (2) Verifying the
emotion of characteristic with Bezier curve.Retriving emotion using sparse codewords which are
used to analyze this results in medicine, and enhancement in CBIR.
To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we assess the ratio of success with
emotionally expressive facial image database. Experimental results shows average 66.6% of success

Rectification Of Cameras Captured Documents Images For...
Rectification of camera captured document images for Camera–based OCR technology Abstract
Due to the rapid progress in digital cameras industry, camera captured documents becomes as
another possibility or choice for document capturing and understanding for OCR applications.
However, image quality degradations arising from the image acquisition process have severe effect
on these applications. The distortion results from digital camera may take the shape of skew,
perspective distortion or geometric distortion. We propose fully automatic preprocessing techniques
to enhance the digital camera captured images to improve the performance of OCR applications.
Our algorithms depend on the features of the text lines and letters and do not need any especial
equipment. Experimental results on a real camera captured images demonstrate 10~15 %
enhancement in current commercial OCR packages. 1. Introduction Textual content in books,
newspapers and articles have been traditionally digitized using scanners and read with the help of
optical character recognition (OCR). Recent technical advances in digital cameras have led the OCR
community to consider using them instead of scanners for document capture. Compared with the
scanner, the digital camera is quite easier to use, being able to capture images from any viewpoint.
Cameras can be easily integrated with portable computing devices such as PDAs, cell phones, or
media players. Together, these factors contribute to the growing interest

Use Of Mask As A Believable And Consistent Character For...
With reference to your own process, discuss and analyse how the use of mask affected your
approach to creating character. Compare how it differs from working without mask, assessing
benefits and any perceived drawbacks. Discuss its potential effect, if any, on your work in non mask
theatre.
In this essay I will argue that the use of mask is vital in creating a believable and consistent
character for performance. The techniques used in masks not only help to define a character but also
help an actor improve their improvisation techniques.
Jacques Lecoq wanted to "explore the hidden gestures, emotions and underlying states of a

Draco would then scoff before dropping it elsewhere.
When making my mask, I wanted to create one that oozed authority with a hint of smarminess. I was
ultimately surprised by the outcome, my end product was a trickster. The raised eyebrow however
led to a smirk which ultimately led to the name Draco; a genus of reptiles, very apt for my character.
However, the eviller Draco became the more drastic a counter mask had to be. As our piece was
dedicated to stealing a picture of ''Zefron– Zac Efron", when ripped, Draco had to flip suddenly.
I drew upon the counter mask exercises we had developed in rehearsals. Changing everything that
made Draco who he was. His ever–present sneer faded into a frown and a wail.
To achieve Draco's mannerism and voice I charged my mask. Copying the arched eyebrow on the
mask I found a nasally voice with an added scoff at the end. I then began to work on my inner
dramatic monologue.
I wanted to keep in mind that Draco thought himself above everyone else hence a simple inner
monologue; "I am surrounded by idiots...peasants, they should be quivering in my mere presence."
Getting the temperament of Draco however was difficult. Despite embodying the arlecchino mask I
wanted Draco to keep an air of authority, the temperament I chose for Draco was Choleric "This
way follow me, follow me this way now!".
All the exercises and techniques I used to develop Draco greatly helped me in perfecting his
character, from Lecoq's 7 states to chekov's centres.

How Is Mark Osborne More Essay
Belonging is defined as the feeling of security and support when there is a sense of understanding,
inclusion and identity to a member trying to fit into a certain group and place. It is a perception of
acceptance.
The short film by Mark Osborne, More, was released in 1998. The short film features a scrawny
gray creature in it's everyday working life. He is unhappy but gains the strength to keep going by his
childhood memories. He works hard to invent a the machine that changes everyone's dull and
negative life by changing their perspective into a more positive light. He successfully creates the
invention, but in the end is still unhappy and still looks back to the happiness he felt as a child.
The short film shows that when a sense of belonging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The line: "Bottling set.. Never unpacked" reflects a fatalistic acceptance of instability and
unpredictability. This shows that they have had no choice but to accept the decision of leaving their
place of belonging. And the narrative shows that the poem is easily distinguished from the 3rd point
of view narrative, which shows the detached connection between the author and his subjects, which
therefore, proves a lack of belonging.
This poem is relatable to Skrzynecki's "Migrant Hostel", mainly due to the instability of shelter. The
characters in both texts are unaware of their future, In Donald Bruce Dawe's poem, both texts show
the inconstancy and disorderly plan for the future show how unstable their life is.
Belonging can be interpreted in many different ways, and separate individuals grasp the meaning of
it, in their own way based on different experiences, logic, and personal beliefs. It is a start of love

How Do Masks Affect The Use Of Mask
In this essay, I will argue that the use of masks is vital in creating a believable and consistent

have improved my improvisation skills.
Jacques Lecoq wanted to "explore the hidden gestures, emotions and underlying states of a
character, which we express through mimages" [2002: P.109]. I incorporated both the mimages and
Seven States of Tension to help me to determine how my mask; Draco, would react in different
situations.
As John Martin states, "every part says something" [2004: p.68]. This is something I tried to
captivate in my development of Draco. However, before I could look at how Draco would react with
masks, I needed to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Copying the arched eyebrow on the mask I found a smarmy, nasally voice, I enjoyed doing this as it
helped me to achieve the temperament of Draco; Choleric. I had to make sure I did not differentiate
from his features. As Rudlin states: "You a prisoner of the mask" [1994: P.35], thus meaning I was
bound by Draco's expressions.
Clocking was essential for Draco as he needed to constantly hold the audience's attention. It also
helped to pinpoint key moments; looking at the dirty rag, clock the audience, placing the rag
elsewhere. This moment also tied in with the characteristics of the Arlecchino.
Toby Wilsher states that countermask is "one of the simplest but most effective tools" [2007: p.30].
As the countermask would help me achieve any emotion despite Draco's features I could flip him
from trickster to turmoil. It also affected my centre, taking me from a centre of my chest to my
knees centre, bringing Draco to the floor as his ever–present sneer faded into a frown and a wail.
All the techniques I used to develop Draco helped me in creating a character. Each exercise helped
me to pin point Draco further and explore him in ways that non–mask theatre would not. I prefer to
act with a mask however, it is easy to slip out of character, therefore the face of the mask must
always be pulled. I found if my facial expression slipped, the entire character began to

the transformation is possible. I need defined cheeks because Angelina Jolie's cheek bones is her
most prominent feature. The cheeks must be high and well defined. Defining the cheeks, I choose a

my features, I am ready to start my transformation. The alterations for my face will take time to

Proraso Shaving Soap Review
Proraso shaving soap is definitely a standout. It was able to fill up what some other shaving soaps
are lacking. This Italian made soap has a relatively longer lifespan and is even less expensive than
most shaving creams and gels out there. Moreover, its classic eucalyptus and menthol scent is a
standout. This would be further elaborated below.
Features and Specifications
Longer Lifespan
Typically, shaving soaps contain 2.5 ounces of their product. But what makes Proraso shaving soap
different is that it is available in an ounce double to that of the typical shaving soaps we see. It
contains 5 ounces, at least, which can last for up to six months. In the short run, the price might
seem pricey for you, but in the long run, you'll realize that you'll be able to save more. Just buy 2
two Prorasos, which can cost you at least $20, and it can already last for a year, as compared to
buying the typical 2.5 ounce shaving soaps, which can cost you $8 per piece. And for it to last for a
year, you need four, so that might cost you at least $32. So, you can actually save more money when
you use Proraso shaving soap.

The Facial Expression Of Saint Paul The Hermit And Saint...
Whether Mona Lisa is smiling or not has become one of the most interesting debates in the world.
Some artists think the facial expression of Mona Lisa is smiling, the others, nevertheless, believe it
is only an expressionless face with a hollow stare. Why this happened is not a weird phenomenon.
One often judges a thing with her/his personal experiences, and distinct experiences make different
individuals generate diverse ideas, just like Shakespeare's words, "there are a thousand Hamlets in a
thousand people's eyes". Furthermore, art is the product of people's thoughts in different periods,
and painting is one manifestation of art because every product reflects the contemporary religious
thoughts and historical activities. Someone who appreciates a painting would not only relate to
historical period but also combine the modern ideas. Thus, when people enjoy a painting, they
always have different opinions with others because everyone sees a different world. To analyze a
painting needs to focus on many factors, like color differences, expression of facial emotions, and
pose overlooking. Therefore, two paintings which are Saint Paul the Hermit and Saint Jerome can be
distinguished in terms of three aspects, different color of paintings, unlike facial expressions, and
same living environment in the painting.
First of all, the colors used in the paintings, Saint Paul the Hermit and Saint Jerome, are quite
different. The dominant hue of the first one is dark, and another is

Old Versus Young : The Temptation Of Adam And Eve Receive...
Old Versus Young
"The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). The book of Genesis opens with a story of
creation; God creates the world and humankind. He fashions a man (Adam) out of dust, and a
woman (Eve) from Adam's rib. God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, encouraging them
to live and prosper, but not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. Ultimately, Adam and Eve
were tempted into eating the fruit, and were punished by God for doing so. Throughout the years,
many painters have expressed their own interpretation of this story through their artwork; including
James Barry and Pietro Facchetti. The Temptation of Adam by ... Show more content on

In contrast, Facchetti's painting depicts Adam with a straighter, more relaxed facial expression
without any wrinkles. This shows that Adam is accepting the fruit not considering the consequences
he may face if he does decide to eat the fruit and betray God, because his face is expressionless and
relaxed, implying that he is not at all bothered by the situation at hand. This is important because it
shows Adam not being as able to make his own decision, by giving in to Eve's persuasion. In
addition, Adam 's eyes in Barry's painting are gazing into the bottom left corner at the ground, and
his lip is curled down forming a slight frown;as well as his facial features are more structured and
pronounced. This shows that Adam is older and able to thoroughly think about the consequences of
accepting the fruit, because he has more structured facial features as that of an adult. Also, it shows
Adam questioning his situation because he is staring off into the distance and has a frown, indicating
that he is weighing his options. This is important because this representation portrays Adam as being
a responsible creation of God because, he is wise and looks to be denying eating the forbidden fruit
even though Eve is trying to pressure him into eating it. Furthermore, in the work by Facchetti
Adam's gaze is positioned directly at the fruit, and his lip is curved upward forming a grin; as well

Interest Point Detectors
Interest Point Detectors
Introduction:
How it started
Our original idea was to implement the beginning stages of a paper on measuring the driver fatigue
detection from a sequence of images []. Majority of accidents reported are due to driver fatigue. One
of the important parameter to be detected to measure the driver's alertness is to track his/her eyes in
the given image sequence. Eye detection is an active research area in computer vision. Applications
can range from face detection to biometrics. Canthus (Eye corners) is a very stable feature that can
be constantly detected from a facial image irrespective of the eye status or gaze direction. Canthus is
initially defined and treated as a corner (interest point). Interest point detectors like Harris and
SUSAN are being studied and discussed in this report. These corner detectors are evaluated to find
which one suits best for this application. Interest Points
An interest point is a relatively important kind of localized two–dimensional image structure with a
mathematical description. It can be defined as the intersection of two edges or as a point with two
dominant and different edge directions. "Corners", "T", "Y" and "X" junctions have the same
definition and fall under this category. Although the interest points constitute a very small portion in
the image, the information on shape is concentrated at these points.
Image corner detection is an important task in various computer vision and image understanding

Artificial Intelligence In Her, By Spike Jonez
The movie Her, by Spike Jonez, questions the notion of who we are in the sense that it shows us that
artificial intelligence can also feel, evolve through learning and contact with others, and become a
'human being'. As far as I can see, the question of artificial intelligence has been present for some
time. Most of people cannot accept the fact that one day artificial intelligence could learn to feel just
like we do because they say that it was not 'born' in a conventional way but it was created by people,
and thus, it is a machine. Throughout the movie, Spike Jonez used a variation of close–ups, cuts and
acousmetre (Chion, 9) to transfer the emotion of the main protagonists and their love relationship.
According to Balazs (60), art deals with human beings which makes the close–up so powerful
because we are brought into the very 'soul' of a person and it is normal for all people to start reading
the facial expressions. As Balazs (60) implies, facial expressions are the most subjective
manifestation of men and Jonez truly managed to fully show the wide range of emotions using
close–ups on the main protagonist, Theodore. According to Balazs (62), the close–up with facial
expressions creates an out of space moment with all of the expressions related more to each other
than to space surrounding it. This is why the space in close–ups is usually blurred because the focus
is on the facial expression of the person. The film convinced us of the presence of Samantha through

The Impact Of Digital Technology On The Creation Of...
Henry Jenkins describes convergence as 'a situation where multiple media systems coexist and
where media content flows fluidly across them' (2006: 282). An important part of the information
transferred across platforms are the techniques utilised in creation. Digital technologies have no
doubt had a large impact on moving images and how they are developed and produced in the
modern world. There has been the introduction of inexpensive consumer digital recording devices,
and the ability to create a video with mobile phones rather than needing a separate dedicated device.
This has led to growth in the creation of amateur moving images on platforms such as YouTube in a
variety of forms. As well as inspiring the creation of new areas of production, digital advances have
enabled further evolution in more traditional areas. Early cinematic pioneers dabbled with in–
camera trickery in order to create fantastical scenes and amaze viewers, and this principle carries
forward to today. Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) is a good example of the
intriguing applications of digital technology in order to achieve these old goals in a potentially better
way. As with the introduction of any new way to achieve a goal, the opportunities available to
content creators have multiplied with the growth in the variety of digital techniques. The power
particular innovations in technology can have in their contribution is perhaps underlined by the
impact they have had in less revered

Recognizing the Temporal Dynamics of the Face
Fig. 1.1 Universal Emotions
Most of the developed methods try to recognize the basic expressions and some attempts at
recognizing non–basic expressions. However, there have been very few attempts at recognizing the
temporal dynamics of the face. Temporal dynamics denotes to the timing and time length of facial
actions. The significant terms that are used in joining with temporal dynamics are: onset, apex and
offset. These are known as the temporal segments of an expression [40]. Onset is the instance when
the facial expression starts, apex is the point when the expression is at its peak and offset is when the
expression fades away (start–of–offset is when the expression starts to fade, and the end–of–offset is
when the expression completely fades out). Similarly, onset–time is defined as the time taken from
start to the peak, apex–time is defined as the complete time at the peak and offset–time is defined as
the total time from a peak to the stop. Pantic and Patras have reported successful recognition of
facial AUs and their temporal segments [2]. By doing so, they have been able to recognize a much
larger range of expressions.
Another very important type of expression classification is 'posed' and 'spontaneous'. Posed
expressions are the artificial expressions that a subject will produce when he or she is requested to
do so. This is commonly the case when the subject is under normal test condition or under
observation in a laboratory.
In contrast, natural expressions are

We Have Sexual Contact With The Natives? Essay
"Did you have sexual contact with the natives?" "No." "Did you share needles or have any open cuts
I should be aware of?" "No . . . " I said. The masked doctor examined the hundreds of boils on my
face and body. A week prior, I got into a bus accident in Tanzania. I was delivering a bag full of
medical supplies to a rural hospital. A tropical storm hit the night before, making the gravel road
slippery. My vehicle lost control and slammed into a palm tree. I hit the front seat hard, and a dental
pick pierced through my backpack, slicing my arm. I bled profusely. The next day, I flew back to
Washington, D.C. only to discover boils on my body. "We're gonna run some blood tests and update
you in two days," said the doctor as he left my quarantine room. I threw up in a bucket right after.
The following hours were the loneliest, most miserable in my life. Born in the UK to a military dad,
I lived in a total of 12 cities across 3 continents. I left friends, family, and belongings every two
years. With my life in flux, the only constant was my education. Information I learned from school
textbooks was applicable wherever I lived. Because of this, I saw the benefit of participating in an
academic field like medicine. But here I was, in a quarantine room after volunteering for three
months with doctors and nurses. I felt paranoid. What if the dental pick had HIV on it? Am I gonna
die? My worries soon transformed into life regrets. Since

The Importance Of The Technicolor Process In The Animated...
The animated films of the 1930s and 1940s definitely took advantage of the new Technicolor
process. For Disney in particular, it was the only colour process that he felt worked for his films
(Telotte 48). Especially since the idea of animated films as feature films was relatively new at the
time, there was a necessity for the differentiation of Disney's films to live–action films so that
animated films could be taken seriously. Disney used Technicolor to do just that (Telotte 48).
Another, arguably more important reason for the use of colour in the animated films was the "still–
developing Disney illusion–of–life aesthetic" (Telotte 48). The colours of the films were used to
help portray a natural–looking world, one that would be believable to the viewer despite being
animation. Higgins discusses that the preferred Disney aesthetic was that "artists favored pastels and
saved strongly saturated hues for accents. Backgrounds were kept desaturated and cool to assure that
the main characters would have chromatic prominence [...] Disney artists were adept at coordinating
color and drama," ("Order and Plenitude" 299). Even though they preferred to keep it natural, the
animators were able to experiment with Technicolour more than the colour directors of live–action
films were. As discussed by Francine Stock, "...colour in both setting and lighting could accentuate
mood or character – without aping reality," (83–4). An example of one of these films that Disney
was able to experiment with

Bell's Palsy Condition
Bell's Palsy is a condition that results in paralysis of one side of the face. The 7th cranial nerve, also
known as the facial nerve is what controls most of the muscles of the face. This facial nerve stems
from the brainstem between the pons and the medulla, and controls the muscles of facial expression.
The function of the 7th cranial nerve is to express taste sensations from the tongue and oral cavity. It
also supplies preganglionic parasympathetic fibers to several head and neck ganglia (citation). In the
Bell's Palsy condition, there is damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the
face which causes that side of the face to droop. Furthermore, this nerve damage may also affect the
sense of taste and the production of tears and saliva. Bell's Palsy is a condition that comes on
suddenly, and it may also get better spontaneously.
One of the most distinct features of Bell's Palsy is its unknown etiology. Previously, Bell's palsy was
speculated to be the cause of other diseases, but it is not the result of a stroke or a transient ischemic
attack, which are conditions that both can cause facial paralysis. The actual cause of Bell's palsy has
not yet been completely determined, but according to some studies, scientists believe that Bell's
palsy is caused by a viral infection such as viral meningitis or the common cold sore virus which is
caused by herpes simplex. Scientists believe that the facial nerve swells and becomes inflamed as a
reaction to the

Depression In Human Depression
DEPRESSION RECOGNITION: A SURVEY
ABSTRACT
Depression is a typical mood disorders the persons who are under depression stage will face much
mental and physical disorder. Now a day's machines are giving very good result based on human
depressions. In such low mood both facial expression and voice of the human being will change
when compare to the normal person. Here we are going to present a novel method by using both
visual and vocal expression we are going to find the depression level of a human.
KEYWORDS: Depression, Ridge Regression, Motion History Histrogram
1.INTRODUCTION
The goal of this paper is to give clear idea about human depression. Finding depression level of a
human by a machine plays a vital role. As it was a fast growing technology, in near future we may
have chance that both human and machine may work together in all the fields. In that situation
machine should understand both inner and outer feelings of a human. To analysis this depression we
have used some of the technologies like partial least square algorithm, ridge regression algorithm,
motion history histrogram etc in my paper.
2. DEPRESSION
Depression has been considered to be a major disease around 20th country .It is a very dangerous
health problem that highly effect the person both personal and social relationship. Depression
disorder symptoms are very hard to find out. It is totally different from other disorder symptoms
.They have used pattern recognition technique in order to detect the human depression using facial
expression, eye movement, head movement ,body movement, heart rate and body temperatures.
[1]Person who suffer from depression will behave abnormal in visual and vocal expression when
compare to other person. First, they have extracted the features from audio and videos. Second, they
have used Long Short Memory Recurrent Neural Network (LSTM–RNN) technique in order to
encode dynamic information from audio and videos. Third, In order to boost up the performance
Multi Task Learning has been used .Finally it has been evaluated on the Audio Visual Emotion

Comparison Between Copy Shop And Strangers
Short films are not bound by the need to create an intricate plot, as feature length films are, allowing
it to delve further into one subject, making it less likely for the plot to become jumbled or
accelerated. The film director is able to express himself in a more clear direct manner, as well as to
take further risks, giving him a larger variety of choices in which the plot can go. Copy shop by
Virgil Wildrich and Strangers by Guy Nattiv and Erez Tadmor are two examples of short film which
through the combination of different filmic techniques allow the audience a deeper understanding.
Due to a short time frame, short films cannot overreach, create subplots or create secondary

From the start of the film, a soft non–diegetic melodramatic violin tremolo as the background
soundtrack has been used. However, the music changes to a more ominous and suspenseful tone
when the protagonist is walking to the copy shop, and gradually builds up until the protagonist uses
his photocopier, in which then a loud audio and visual distortion interrupts the music, after which
the music suddenly quietened. This shouts out to the audience that something bad has happened,
again preluding the twist in the story, the copies. As the film progresses, Widrich Virgil uses the
ground work that he built up, replicating the same visuals, the bedroom, the man on the street, the
florist , familiarizing the audience to the setting. Therefore, later in the film when all of them are
replaced with the protagonist, the audience makes a personal understanding, strengthening their
understanding on Wildrich's statement about the conformity of

Similarities And Differences Between Bell 's Palsy
While a droop to the side of a person's face is commonly associated with strokes, the same facial
appearance can be seen in someone with Bell's Palsy. It is said that Bell's Palsy is responsible for
60–75% of persons with acute one sided facial paralysis (Cabrera & Schub, 2004). This
phenomenon of one sided facial paralysis was first discovered by Sir Charles Bell, who happened to
be a surgeon from Scotland (National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, 2003). Since
he made the connection of the facial nerve and the temporary paralysis that it causes, it was only
right that they name the condition after him. Early on he was able to differentiate between this nerve
condition and a stroke which is a vascular condition in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nerve is then divided into six segments whose names are indicative of landmarks along the
passageway to the extratemporal and intratemporal route. Once the nerve exits the facial canal of the
temporal bone it divides off into major branches that are further specified, depending on their
endpoint, just like the ones that continue to the cranium (Patel, 2014). As with any other structure in
the human body, landmarks are used to locate the facial nerve.
Normal physiology of the major body system effected (Criteria 4): In someone who has no issues to
the facial nerve, the motor root allows an individual to give off facial expressions to convey how
one is feeling. You smile when you are happy, frown when you are sad and some of us raise our
eyebrows when we are surprised. Facial muscles that are controlled by the facial nerve, allows us to
add meaning to body language when it is functioning properly. Sometimes when you are sad you
find yourself crying because of the motor function of the facial nerve. Not only does it stimulate
your lacrimal glands, it stimulates your sublingual, submandibular and certain salivary glands
(Smith, 2015). So, when your mouth begins to water over something you find appetizing, that is
your facial nerve at work. When you go out to a rave and the music is blaring and you discover that
you don't want to listen, that is the stapedius muscle of

Cleft Palate Research Paper
A cleft lip is an opening or split in the upper lip that occurs when developing facial structures in an
unborn baby that doesn't close completely.
A baby with a cleft lip may also experience a cleft in the roof of the mouth (cleft palate).
Less commonly, a cleft occurs only in the muscles of the soft palate (submucuous palate), which are
at the back of the mouth and covered by the mouth's lining. This type of cleft often often goes
unnoticed at birth and may not be diagnosed until later when signs develop.
Usually, a split (cleft) in the lip or palate is immediately identifiable at birth. Cleft lip and cleft
palate appear as:

Cleft lip and cleft palate occurs when tissues in the baby's face and mouth don't fuse properly.
Normally, the tissues that make up the lip and palate fuse together in the second and third months of
pregnancy. But in babies with cleft lip and cleft palate, the fusion never takes place or occurs only
part way, leaving an opening (cleft).
Most scientists believe clefts are due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. There
appears to be a greater chance of clefting in a newborn id a sibling, parent or relatives has had the
problem.
Another potential cause may be related to a medication a mother may have taken during the
pregnancy. Some drugs may cause cleft lip and cleft palate. Among them: anti–
seizure/anticonvulsant drugs, acne drugs containing accutane, and methotrexate, a drug commonly
used for treating cancer, arthritis, and psoriasis.
Cleft lip and cleft palate may also occur as a result of exposure to viruses and chemicals while the
fetus is developing in the womb.
In other situations, cleft lip and cleft palate may be part of another

Reflection Of The FilmPaper Man, By John Kahrs
The short film, "Paper man", by John Kahrs is a genuine reflection on his world. The way this is
depicted is through his exploration use of magic, the amazing symbolism of the colour used and the
service of sound. The representation of these allows, the audience to be more thankful to this film
and understand its diversity in the world that it once was.
"Paper man", is presented in a reflection of the world through the exploration use of magic. This is
best illustrated through the world of 2012 because of how black and white the world was. This film
was created explaining and unfolding the world to a black and white film which gives it a sense of a
romantic genre. As the use of magic is portrayed, the audience get a feeling of hope and happiness
as we too feel the realistic emotions as the main character in this short film. Three quarters if the
way through, when things are looking down and sad, the little spark we call Disney starts up and
help two people rekindle the love at first sight. The use of magic makes the audience feel as though
nothing is as it seems, that things can get better and to always, always, believe in yourself and never
give up. Nonetheless, this film represents the world at the time through the use of magic!
This films diversity and reflection of the world has dramatically changed based on the range of
colour this film offers. The portrayal of the film is based on the way colour has genuinely
symbolised the significance. The little bit of

choice made on the part of Albers. By shrinking the remaining prints of Heimann, the viewer has no
choice but to step up to the piece itself in order to get a closer and better look of Heimann. This
subtle technique that Albers uses serves as a marker to his genius, and his thorough understanding of
the craft. Albers has a deep connection to his subject, which is exuded in the array of expressions
depicted onto each print. Therefore, by having the audience exercise the need to look closely at the
smaller prints below, Albers thus extends this connection to the onlooker. To reiterate what was
stated before Heimann is good with the camera, and due in part to her being comfortable with
Albers, the level of facial expression emotes realistic conveyance, and is not contrived with two–

effect of subtle, grey shadows, which sit delicately across Heimann's face. Such an effect also helps
Heimann to continue her flirtatious relationship with the camera. The range of facial expressions
vary notably, thought by not much. She is demure and ladylike in one print, coquettish and playful

Throughout the years,
many painters have expressed their own interpretation of this story through their artwork; including

without any wrinkles.

Film Review: The Snow Town Murders
Culture, the way of life of a group of people is a very important aspect of human existence. Indeed
the culture of a certain people is extremely significant to them that they strive as much as possible to
prevent its extinction by passing it down from one generation to another. Over the centuries, oral
telling , art making and subsequently writing have been methods of passing and preserving culture
and then recently film making. The film and the media have proven to be an extremely strong factor
when it comes to portrayal, proclamation and even preservation as a result of the numerous numbers
of people the media has access to. For the purpose of this essay, I would be visiting the history of
film in Australia, its cultural importance and significance and its distinct examples in modern day
film.
The Australian film industry has over the years revolutionized from what was called a silent era, to
the sound era and then the new wave. The silent era as the name implies featured film making
without the use of sound while the sound era introduced the addition of sound to films. From the
years 1906 to 1911, Australia happened to be the most prolific producer of feature films in the
world. As at this period in time, Australian producers had easy access to cinema screen because of
the irregular supply of foreign films. This notable success however began to experience a gradual
decline as the Hollywood

Cleft Lip
Introduction
Cleft lip is formed when a baby's nose and mouth do not form properly in the womb. These children
are born with deformations to the mouth and nose. There are four main types of cleft lip that involve
incomplete single and double clefts and also complete single and double clefts that cause
deformations completely into the child's nose. This can cause complications for the child to eat and
breathe properly, but a series of surgeries can fix this complication. The cleft lip is basically a split
in the lip of a baby that occurs on one side or both sides of the nostrils and if completely formed as a
cleft the splits will go all the way into a child's nose or nasal passage and cause damages to the roof
of the mouth (cleft palate). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This Assignment Was Difficult For Me Since I Just Moved

  • 1. This Assignment Was Difficult For Me Since I Just Moved This assignment was difficult for me since I just moved to a town and I know no one. In fact, I was starting to wonder if I'd be able to hit the requirements since up until yesterday I'd only had 1 interaction with someone for 15 minutes. But between a rock hounding lecture meet up yesterday and the sun today, I was able to have a few face to face conversations with people. The first observation was with the co–owner of the RV park I'm staying at. My neighbor informed me the park may hire a couple people in June in exchange for their space rent. This lead me to Brian, where we engaged in a 30–minute conversation about all the things I need to know living here, such as where the best agates were, what spring break and summer activities they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The change in her facial expression from relaxed to uh–oh back to relaxed was only a couple seconds, but it conveyed that Brian's phone call wasn't going to be pleasurable. My next observation was Laura, a local geologist, business owner, and rock guru! Laura is offering rock collecting lessons on the beach to educate people on the different rocks of the Oregon Coast as well as beach and rock collecting safety and laws. Due to the downpour of rain at the time, Laura canceled the beach rock collecting but invited me and the other guy that showed to her store so she could tell us about a new geological find. At her store, Laura started explaining that scientists have discovered granite on the Oregon Coast that dates back to an eruption from Yellowstone, I think she said around 15 million years ago. As the lava flowed towards the ocean it picked up and deposited rocks along the way which explained a long puzzle they had of how Idaho Idaho geodes and crystals were in the Pacific Ocean. This new find is huge in the geological field which was evident by Laura's facial expression. She didn't even have to mention how important this finding is as her face conveyed it all. She was very animated as she spoke, her arms moving in unison to her verbal communication (for example she'd make wavy signals with her hands almost every time she talked about the lava flows). While Laura talked, she alternated between showing excitement in her facial features (eyes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Purpose Of Makeup Makeup: what is the point? Most women enjoy putting on their makeup for special occasions, such as weddings, dances, or nights out, or their day–to–day normal life, but no one knows the true purpose of makeup. Sure we use foundation and concealer to cover up blemishes, but why not celebrate and embrace the fact that we are humans and humans have acne? Wearing makeup for the purpose of covering up acne and imperfections are not the only reasons women wear it. They enjoy feeling beautiful and confident, being more attractive, and because they just enjoy putting makeup on. Women like to wear makeup because they may feel more beautiful and more confident about themselves. Makeup can allow women to cover up their blemishes which they may feel embarrassed about. For example, there may be some redness on a woman's face that she may want to cover up. • 11. Non Verbal Communication And Nonverbal Communication One of the areas studied in psychology is the use of Non–Verbal Communication (NVC). According to the Collins dictionary, this is defined as 'those aspects of communication, such as gestures and facial expressions, that do not involve communication, but which may include non–verbal aspects of speech itself (accent, tone of voice, speed of speaking, etc)'. Used daily by humans and animals (Darwin 1972), NVC has a strong link to innate factors, and messages are sent unconsciously to the listener. Through body language, we can deliver simple messages which can aid or replace speech, show attitude or emotion, and with 55% of what we say being delivered through body language, and 38% dedicated to tone, it can sometimes contradict our verbal ... The study was carried out by collecting photographs, drawings and video footage to allow for a large sample of international gestures, and as there were no guidelines for judging NVC at this time, we are not able to question the validity of these approaches. It was noted in the study that when filming, and asking people to repeat gestures, the actions became more awkward and unnatural, therefor procedures where changed to ensure only first, natural performances of the gesture were recorded. The findings showed that they hypothesis was correct as in there are differences in gestures across the cultures, but there can also be variations within that cultures. It also discovered that to collect accurate recordable data, video footage was the best option. This was due to photographs and drawings not giving enough information for someone to repeat the gesture correctly. Still drawings do not show the full motion of the gesture, the facial expression that coincides with it or the speed at which the gesture is delivered. The advantage of filming also meant that footage could be reviewed to allow even small gestures being noted. Findings were delivered in a short film 'A World of Gestures – Culture and Non–Verbal Communication' and highlights that in Japan, if you point to the side of your head, by your ear, with your index finger, and circle your finger anti–clockwise, this means "crazy". Rectification of camera captured document images for Camera–based OCR technology Abstract Due to the rapid progress in digital cameras industry, camera captured documents becomes as another possibility or choice for document capturing and understanding for OCR applications. However, image quality degradations arising from the image acquisition process have severe effect on these applications. The distortion results from digital camera may take the shape of skew, perspective distortion or geometric distortion. We propose fully automatic preprocessing techniques to enhance the digital camera captured images to improve the performance of OCR applications. Our algorithms depend on the features of the text lines and letters and do not need any especial equipment. Experimental results on a real camera captured images demonstrate 10~15 % enhancement in current commercial OCR packages. 1. Introduction Textual content in books, newspapers and articles have been traditionally digitized using scanners and read with the help of optical character recognition (OCR). Recent technical advances in digital cameras have led the OCR community to consider using them instead of scanners for document capture. Compared with the scanner, the digital camera is quite easier to use, being able to capture images from any viewpoint. Cameras can be easily integrated with portable computing devices such as PDAs, cell phones, or media players. Together, these factors contribute to the growing interest ... Compare how it differs from working without mask, assessing benefits and any perceived drawbacks. Discuss its potential effect, if any, on your work in non mask theatre. In this essay I will argue that the use of mask is vital in creating a believable and consistent character for performance. The techniques used in masks not only help to define a character but also help an actor improve their improvisation techniques. I was ultimately surprised by the outcome, my end product was a trickster. The raised eyebrow however led to a smirk which ultimately led to the name Draco; a genus of reptiles, very apt for my character. However, the eviller Draco became the more drastic a counter mask had to be. As our piece was dedicated to stealing a picture of ''Zefron– Zac Efron", when ripped, Draco had to flip suddenly. I drew upon the counter mask exercises we had developed in rehearsals. Changing everything that made Draco who he was. His ever–present sneer faded into a frown and a wail. To achieve Draco's mannerism and voice I charged my mask. Copying the arched eyebrow on the mask I found a nasally voice with an added scoff at the end. I then began to work on my inner dramatic monologue. I wanted to keep in mind that Draco thought himself above everyone else hence a simple inner monologue; "I am surrounded by idiots...peasants, they should be quivering in my mere presence." Getting the temperament of Draco however was difficult. Despite embodying the arlecchino mask I wanted Draco to keep an air of authority, the temperament I chose for Draco was Choleric "This way follow me, follow me this way now!". Some artists think the facial expression of Mona Lisa is smiling, the others, nevertheless, believe it is only an expressionless face with a hollow stare. Why this happened is not a weird phenomenon. One often judges a thing with her/his personal experiences, and distinct experiences make different individuals generate diverse ideas, just like Shakespeare's words, "there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes". Furthermore, art is the product of people's thoughts in different periods, and painting is one manifestation of art because every product reflects the contemporary religious thoughts and historical activities. Someone who appreciates a painting would not only relate to historical period but also combine the modern ideas. Thus, when people enjoy a painting, they always have different opinions with others because everyone sees a different world. To analyze a painting needs to focus on many factors, like color differences, expression of facial emotions, and pose overlooking. Therefore, two paintings which are Saint Paul the Hermit and Saint Jerome can be distinguished in terms of three aspects, different color of paintings, unlike facial expressions, and same living environment in the painting. First of all, the colors used in the paintings, Saint Paul the Hermit and Saint Jerome, are quite different. The dominant hue of the first one is dark, and another is ... Old Versus Young "The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). The book of Genesis opens with a story of creation; God creates the world and humankind. He fashions a man (Adam) out of dust, and a woman (Eve) from Adam's rib. God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, encouraging them to live and prosper, but not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In contrast, Facchetti's painting depicts Adam with a straighter, more relaxed facial expression without any wrinkles. This shows that Adam is accepting the fruit not considering the consequences he may face if he does decide to eat the fruit and betray God, because his face is expressionless and relaxed, implying that he is not at all bothered by the situation at hand. This is important because it shows Adam not being as able to make his own decision, by giving in to Eve's persuasion. In addition, Adam 's eyes in Barry's painting are gazing into the bottom left corner at the ground, and his lip is curled down forming a slight frown;as well as his facial features are more structured and pronounced. This shows that Adam is older and able to thoroughly think about the consequences of accepting the fruit, because he has more structured facial features as that of an adult. Also, it shows Adam questioning his situation because he is staring off into the distance and has a frown, indicating that he is weighing his options. This is important because this representation portrays Adam as being a responsible creation of God because, he is wise and looks to be denying eating the forbidden fruit even though Eve is trying to pressure him into eating it. Furthermore, in the work by Facchetti Adam's gaze is positioned directly at the fruit, and his lip is curved upward forming a grin; as well as his facial features are ... Interest Point Detectors Interest Point Detectors Introduction: How it started Our original idea was to implement the beginning stages of a paper on measuring the driver fatigue detection from a sequence of images []. Majority of accidents reported are due to driver fatigue. One of the important parameter to be detected to measure the driver's alertness is to track his/her eyes in the given image sequence. Eye detection is an active research area in computer vision. Applications can range from face detection to biometrics. Canthus (Eye corners) is a very stable feature that can be constantly detected from a facial image irrespective of the eye status or gaze direction. Canthus is initially defined and treated as a corner (interest point). Interest point detectors like Harris and SUSAN are being studied and discussed in this report. These corner detectors are evaluated to find which one suits best for this application. Interest Points An interest point is a relatively important kind of localized two–dimensional image structure with a mathematical description. It can be defined as the intersection of two edges or as a point with two dominant and different edge directions. "Corners", "T", "Y" and "X" junctions have the same definition and fall under this category. Although the interest points constitute a very small portion in the image, the information on shape is concentrated at these points. Image corner detection is an important task in various computer vision and image understanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Artificial Intelligence In Her, By Spike Jonez The movie Her, by Spike Jonez, questions the notion of who we are in the sense that it shows us that artificial intelligence can also feel, evolve through learning and contact with others, and become a 'human being'. As far as I can see, the question of artificial intelligence has been present for some time. Most of people cannot accept the fact that one day artificial intelligence could learn to feel just like we do because they say that it was not 'born' in a conventional way but it was created by people, and thus, it is a machine. Throughout the movie, Spike Jonez used a variation of close–ups, cuts and acousmetre (Chion, 9) to transfer the emotion of the main protagonists and their love relationship. According to Balazs (60), art deals with human beings which makes the close–up so powerful because we are brought into the very 'soul' of a person and it is normal for all people to start reading the facial expressions. As Balazs (60) implies, facial expressions are the most subjective manifestation of men and Jonez truly managed to fully show the wide range of emotions using close–ups on the main protagonist, Theodore. According to Balazs (62), the close–up with facial expressions creates an out of space moment with all of the expressions related more to each other than to space surrounding it. This is why the space in close–ups is usually blurred because the focus is on the facial expression of the person. The film convinced us of the presence of Samantha through her ... Henry Jenkins describes convergence as 'a situation where multiple media systems coexist and where media content flows fluidly across them' (2006: 282). An important part of the information transferred across platforms are the techniques utilised in creation. Digital technologies have no doubt had a large impact on moving images and how they are developed and produced in the modern world. There has been the introduction of inexpensive consumer digital recording devices, and the ability to create a video with mobile phones rather than needing a separate dedicated device. This has led to growth in the creation of amateur moving images on platforms such as YouTube in a variety of forms. As well as inspiring the creation of new areas of production, digital advances have enabled further evolution in more traditional areas. Early cinematic pioneers dabbled with in– camera trickery in order to create fantastical scenes and amaze viewers, and this principle carries forward to today. Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) is a good example of the intriguing applications of digital technology in order to achieve these old goals in a potentially better way. As with the introduction of any new way to achieve a goal, the opportunities available to content creators have multiplied with the growth in the variety of digital techniques. • 43. Recognizing the Temporal Dynamics of the Face Fig. 1.1 Universal Emotions Most of the developed methods try to recognize the basic expressions and some attempts at recognizing non–basic expressions. However, there have been very few attempts at recognizing the temporal dynamics of the face. Temporal dynamics denotes to the timing and time length of facial actions. The significant terms that are used in joining with temporal dynamics are: onset, apex and offset. These are known as the temporal segments of an expression [40]. Onset is the instance when the facial expression starts, apex is the point when the expression is at its peak and offset is when the expression fades away (start–of–offset is when the expression starts to fade, and the end–of–offset is when the expression completely fades out). Similarly, onset–time is defined as the time taken from start to the peak, apex–time is defined as the complete time at the peak and offset–time is defined as the total time from a peak to the stop. Pantic and Patras have reported successful recognition of facial AUs and their temporal segments [2]. By doing so, they have been able to recognize a much larger range of expressions. Another very important type of expression classification is 'posed' and 'spontaneous'. Posed expressions are the artificial expressions that a subject will produce when he or she is requested to do so. This is commonly the case when the subject is under normal test condition or under observation in a laboratory. In contrast, natural expressions are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. The Importance Of The Technicolor Process In The Animated... The animated films of the 1930s and 1940s definitely took advantage of the new Technicolor process. For Disney in particular, it was the only colour process that he felt worked for his films (Telotte 48). Especially since the idea of animated films as feature films was relatively new at the time, there was a necessity for the differentiation of Disney's films to live–action films so that animated films could be taken seriously. Disney used Technicolor to do just that (Telotte 48). Another, arguably more important reason for the use of colour in the animated films was the "still– developing Disney illusion–of–life aesthetic" (Telotte 48). The colours of the films were used to help portray a natural–looking world, one that would be believable to the viewer despite being animation. Higgins discusses that the preferred Disney aesthetic was that "artists favored pastels and saved strongly saturated hues for accents. Backgrounds were kept desaturated and cool to assure that the main characters would have chromatic prominence [...] Disney artists were adept at coordinating color and drama," ("Order and Plenitude" 299). Even though they preferred to keep it natural, the animators were able to experiment with Technicolour more than the colour directors of live–action films were. As discussed by Francine Stock, "...colour in both setting and lighting could accentuate mood or character – without aping reality," (83–4). The 7th cranial nerve, also known as the facial nerve is what controls most of the muscles of the face. This facial nerve stems from the brainstem between the pons and the medulla, and controls the muscles of facial expression. The function of the 7th cranial nerve is to express taste sensations from the tongue and oral cavity. It also supplies preganglionic parasympathetic fibers to several head and neck ganglia (citation). In the Bell's Palsy condition, there is damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the face which causes that side of the face to droop. Furthermore, this nerve damage may also affect the sense of taste and the production of tears and saliva. Bell's Palsy is a condition that comes on suddenly, and it may also get better spontaneously. One of the most distinct features of Bell's Palsy is its unknown etiology. Previously, Bell's palsy was speculated to be the cause of other diseases, but it is not the result of a stroke or a transient ischemic attack, which are conditions that both can cause facial paralysis. The actual cause of Bell's palsy has not yet been completely determined, but according to some studies, scientists believe that Bell's palsy is caused by a viral infection such as viral meningitis or the common cold sore virus which is caused by herpes simplex. • 55. Comparison Between Copy Shop And Strangers Short films are not bound by the need to create an intricate plot, as feature length films are, allowing it to delve further into one subject, making it less likely for the plot to become jumbled or accelerated. The film director is able to express himself in a more clear direct manner, as well as to take further risks, giving him a larger variety of choices in which the plot can go. Copy shop by Virgil Wildrich and Strangers by Guy Nattiv and Erez Tadmor are two examples of short film which through the combination of different filmic techniques allow the audience a deeper understanding. Due to a short time frame, short films cannot overreach, create subplots or create secondary characters. As such, short film's must remain direct and concise. ... However, the music changes to a more ominous and suspenseful tone when the protagonist is walking to the copy shop, and gradually builds up until the protagonist uses his photocopier, in which then a loud audio and visual distortion interrupts the music, after which the music suddenly quietened. This shouts out to the audience that something bad has happened, again preluding the twist in the story, the copies. As the film progresses, Widrich Virgil uses the ground work that he built up, replicating the same visuals, the bedroom, the man on the street, the florist , familiarizing the audience to the setting. Therefore, later in the film when all of them are replaced with the protagonist, the audience makes a personal understanding, strengthening their understanding on Wildrich's statement about the conformity of ... Similarities And Differences Between Bell 's Palsy While a droop to the side of a person's face is commonly associated with strokes, the same facial appearance can be seen in someone with Bell's Palsy. It is said that Bell's Palsy is responsible for 60–75% of persons with acute one sided facial paralysis (Cabrera & Schub, 2004). This phenomenon of one sided facial paralysis was first discovered by Sir Charles Bell, who happened to be a surgeon from Scotland (National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, 2003). Since he made the connection of the facial nerve and the temporary paralysis that it causes, it was only right that they name the condition after him. The nerve is then divided into six segments whose names are indicative of landmarks along the passageway to the extratemporal and intratemporal route. Once the nerve exits the facial canal of the temporal bone it divides off into major branches that are further specified, depending on their endpoint, just like the ones that continue to the cranium (Patel, 2014). As with any other structure in the human body, landmarks are used to locate the facial nerve. A baby with a cleft lip may also experience a cleft in the roof of the mouth (cleft palate). Less commonly, a cleft occurs only in the muscles of the soft palate (submucuous palate), which are at the back of the mouth and covered by the mouth's lining. This subtle technique that Albers uses serves as a marker to his genius, and his thorough understanding of the craft. Albers has a deep connection to his subject, which is exuded in the array of expressions depicted onto each print. Therefore, by having the audience exercise the need to look closely at the smaller prints below, Albers thus extends this connection to the onlooker. To reiterate what was stated before Heimann is good with the camera, and due in part to her being comfortable with Albers, the level of facial expression emotes realistic conveyance, and is not contrived with two– dimensional feeling. The implementation of lighting is artfully done, resulting in a high contrast effect of subtle, grey shadows, which sit delicately across Heimann's face. Such an effect also helps Heimann to continue her flirtatious relationship with the camera. The range of facial expressions vary notably, thought by not much. Ultimately, Adam and Eve were tempted into eating the fruit, and were punished by God for doing so. Throughout the years, many painters have expressed their own interpretation of this story through their artwork; including James Barry and Pietro Facchetti. The Temptation of Adam by ... Indeed the culture of a certain people is extremely significant to them that they strive as much as possible to prevent its extinction by passing it down from one generation to another. Over the centuries, oral telling , art making and subsequently writing have been methods of passing and preserving culture and then recently film making. The film and the media have proven to be an extremely strong factor when it comes to portrayal, proclamation and even preservation as a result of the numerous numbers of people the media has access to. For the purpose of this essay, I would be visiting the history of film in Australia, its cultural importance and significance and its distinct examples in modern day film. The Australian film industry has over the years revolutionized from what was called a silent era, to the sound era and then the new wave. The silent era as the name implies featured film making without the use of sound while the sound era introduced the addition of sound to films. From the years 1906 to 1911, Australia happened to be the most prolific producer of feature films in the world. As at this period in time, Australian producers had easy access to cinema screen because of the irregular supply of foreign films.
