How Does Apple Is A Benefit To Society
5 Reasons Why Apple is A Benefit To Society Apple has been a dominant company for many
years now, and Steve Jobs company has made society a better place. They have introduced
several inspirational products, and have also made the lives of their users much easier. THE
APPLE 1 Even though this product did not sell very well, it was still the very first modern
personal computer. The Apple 1 required users to add their own bits, like a keyboard, power
supply, and display, but they promised that it would run with relative ease. THE IMAC When the
iMac was released, it was a computer that the world had never seen before. Apple had decided to
due away with floppy disks, and they integrated USB ports in the machine. The overall design was

On My Way With Sesame Street My Abc s
Twenty five years, a quarter of a century! What changes have been made in children s books
throughout these years? The first book I chose was On My Way With Sesame Street: My ABC s
which was written in the year of 1989. Twenty five years later, the second book I chose is called
Disney Frozen: Forever Sisters, was written. Both of these books show the changes made in the
world throughout these past years.
Major changes in children s literature have been shown throughout these years. There was much
more value to the older book that I used compared to the newer book. The older book included
more of a story with vibrant colors. Also, the older book was more educational compared to the
newer book. The older book presented the alphabet in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Manifest functions are those recognized and intended consequences that people observe or expect
in a social pattern or social institution. In the first book, On My Way With Sesame Street:My ABC
s, the main manifest function was to teach children the alphabet. The multiple sets of the alphabet,
along with the different vocabulary, help to expand the vocabulary that the children develop. Along,
with sentences describing the words, there are pictures demonstrating them. The alphabet
demonstrated by Grover uses his own body and a few props to demonstrate the shapes of the
letters. There is even an alphabet of trash done by Oscar the Grouch. Another manifest function
would be that this book is a tool to teach children how to read. This book teaches children that
there is more than one way to look at the alphabet, and that it can be fun to learn. The latent
functions are those unrecognized consequences. When adults read this book to their children,
the children will have to listen to comprehend what they are being read. The children will also be
taught how to sit still to be able to see the book. Another latent function is that they will be
taught other activities throughout this book like colors, shapes, and spelling. In the second
book, Disney Frozen: Forever Sisters, a manifest function would be about how this book is a
fairytale because Elsa has the powers of snow and ice. Love and hate relationships between
siblings is shown throughout this book because Anna and Elsa fought and Elsa coronation, which
caused Elsa to set off her powers, and caused her to run away, but she was hunted. She was
almost killed until Anna saved her, and in the end everyone was happy. A manifest function, is
that this book teaches children about love, and how to be able to express love. A major latent
function is about body image. The girls in the book are very tiny which can cause girls to feel that
they should look like

The Acquisition, Development And Use Of Language
The acquisition, development and use of language is universal. It is pivotal in being able to
communicate between others and is seen and heard in all cultures and countries. The notion that
language is seen is undeniable, for example; language is seen in printed format such as
advertisements, books, letters and lyrics. Printed languagecomprises of numbers, letters, symbols
and pictures and can together or separately tell a story or communicate a message. Furthermore,
language is observed through gestures, body language, dance, moving images and sign language.
Audible language consists of spoken words; singing, whistling, morse code, music and movies.
All modes of language assist in the delivery of meaningful information (Anstey Bull, 2006).
Language is extremely diverse, with over 7,097 known languages spoken throughout the world.
English is spoken by approximately 340 million people and is one of the world s most common
languages (SIL International, 2016). Over 230 countries are represented, 300 languages spoken and
more than 100 religions practiced in Australia alone (Department of Immigration and Citizenship,
2008). Throughout the world, there will be standardised forms of each language, which differ in
grammar and pronunciation from language that may be used in the home or other social settings.
Standard language is commonly used in government and educational discourses. This report will
endeavour to display how the above mentioned factors of language play a role in

Antony Flew on Christian Life
People always tend to give high attention to individuals who turned their backs on their once held
beliefs to argue that (Christian) faith is unreasonable and without real substance. Rationality seems
to be the source of every argument for the non existence of God, and is often understood as
inherently opposing to faith. However, the story of Antony Flew is one that atheists can and should
not discard, as he experienced something very different. Born into a Christian family Flew grew up
in the church and was exposed to Christian beliefs and customs. He never really found a personal
connection to Christianity and converted to Atheism, but after decades of arguing the non existence
of God, he came to the conclusion that there is no other possibility than the validity of the existence
of God. This process is documented in There is a God. Antony Flew is considered one of the, some
might argue the most important, proponents of atheism in the 20th century and his works made
major contributions to the argumentation of atheism.
The author begins his personal story, some might call it testimony, with explaining the process of
becoming an atheist in the first place, before rejecting it after all these years. Born as the son of a
Methodist minister and preacher, Flew went to a Christian school, and was, as he calls himself, a
committed and conscientious, if unenthusiastic, Christian (p.10). He did not feel a personal
connection to God and was not interested in any kind of worship.

Paleolithic And Neolithic Similarities
The Paleolithic Era and the Neolithic Era had many similarities and differences. The Paleolithic
Era was known as the old stone age, it stated on 2,000,000 BCE. After the Paleolithic Era came the
Neolithic Era which was also known as the new stone age. The people that live during the
Paleolithic Era where nomads which meant they moved around to gather their food. The paleolithic
Era people hunted and gathered their food. However, during the NeolithicEra the people knew how
to farm and domesticate their plants and animals. This allowed the Neolithic Era people to be
sedentary and stay in permanent villages. The Neolithic people also went out hunting for their
animals but not as often as the Paleolithic Era people did. The technology for

daughter continuing feeding me crack cocaine and to leave my dysfunctional familycurses that
include sexual abusing, mental abuse, and emotional abuse of our own children passed down

grandmother because she spent three days walking around her house in real prays for my life

me back home to my mother. In fact, all my grandmother had with her these three days was her
bible that she kept lay across her arm as she moves throughout the day inside and out of her home.
However, I felt like her love for me was real because each time she spoke to me in a very soft voice

Signs And Symptoms Of Sepsis
Early identification of sepsis in emergency department patients could be the difference between life
and death. An emergency department nurse should be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of
sepsis, know the proper fluid bolus rate for resuscitation, and initiate intravenous antibiotics within
an hour of the patient arriving to the emergency department. According to the sepsisalliance website,
The word sepsis comes from the Greek meaning decay or to putrefy. In medical terms, sepsis is
defined as either the presence of pathogenic organisms or their toxins in the blood and tissues or
the poisoned condition resulting from the presence of pathogens or their toxins as in septicemia
(Definition of Sepsis, n.d). Sepsis is a life threatening illness but if signs and symptoms are
recognized early enough the outcome is generally good. Remember, Time is Tissue.
The purpose of this paper is to answer my PICO question, which is; In adult patients, does initiating
fluids and antibiotics within a certain amount of time reduce the mortality rate compared to not
initiating fluids and antibiotics within a certain amount of time? The first search I conducted was
on the benefits of initialing fluids, 30ml/kg minimum completely infused within the first three
hours of recognizing possible sepsis. The most important part in early sepsis is getting vascular
access and beginning the fluid resuscitation process. Delaying intravenous fluid resuscitation can
result in tissue

The dynamic relationships and unique experiences he created mirror a world like the one in
which he lived. The state within the novel was taking control of the minds of the youth, using
propaganda and a narrow world view to shape their young, impressionable morality. Both Nazi
Germany and the state in Youth Without God were training children to be warriors. They saw
decency and goodness as weaknesses to be rooted out, but where did this lead them? We are all
familiar with the end of World War II and the fate of Adolf Hitler. However, Horvath had no idea
the Third Reich was doomed. He wrote this novel because he it was clear to him that the
complete power held by the state would lead to corruption and violence. Ironically, Horvath died
in 1939 before he could behold the devastation by the Nazi regime that his novel had predicted.
Instead, he left behind a brilliant piece of work which we can use to analyze the role power and
violence can have on a state and its children. The concepts of power and violence are shown in
Youth Without God through the experiences of a teacher grappling with the immoral mindset of
his pupils and his opinion of God as a terrible being. The power, in this novel, is held by the state.
They control the education of young children by using propaganda and summer training programs
to prepare them to be soldiers. The headmaster of the school declares that we are supposed to keep
youth at a distance from everything which

Nuclear Weapons Are The Most Deadly
Nuclear weapons are the most deadly, destructive, and powerful form of technology that the world
has ever created. Officially, only 9 states out of 196 in the international arena have possession of
them. Although nuclear weapons are being eliminated by states, they still hold a significant value
for nations in the IR arena with a nuclear annihilation capacity. States within the international
community that own nuclear arsenals are automatically feared and respected because of the status
symbol they hold. Conversely, this prestige, power, and influence can also back fire on states and
become a disadvantage. States can lose power in the international community by causing tensions
and dividing themselves between states who don t have these nuclear advantages. France is one
country in particular that resembles a superpower with nuclear capability. France has gained power
in the International community through NATO due to their possession of nuclear weapons.
Overall, nuclear weapons still represent a great power in the International Arena today and will
continue holding that power. The ability to produce and launch dangerous, nuclear weapons help
states earn a negotiation power in the international community because nuclear power is equated to
political power. A state that owns nuclear weapons is feared, respected, and seen as a country that
nobody wants to wage a war with, because of the threat of nuclear annihilation. Once a state has
possession of nuclear weapons it becomes a

candidates for heroes since they both possess the characteristic of strength not just physical

the worst things a mother could do to leave her children without a caretaker, even if she was not

Mythology And Its Impact On Society
Mythology has and always will play a huge role in a people s life. It is human nature to ask
questions and want answers. This is where mythology comes in and gives people that answers.
Mythology also can take form in religion which has been practiced over 300,000 years ago (Wise
Geek, 2014). Belief, and knowledge that a person has, has a huge impact the choices and beliefs of
mythologyand religion. Even in the contemporary culture of today mythology still plays a huge role
in.
Myths are a way that humans can explain the impossible or the unexplainable. Callisto and Ursa
Major is a myth that was used in the past to explain the stars and the constellations. Myths also
help people through life by giving them hope, something to believe in, or my inspiring them. An
example of a doctor telling a very sick patient that it is possible to get better or that a cure will
soon be found for their illness. Myths can be used to explain the origin of life and many other
things. The bible for example explains how lives begin on Earth.
One of the most common mythological themes across the different cultures, and throughout
history is origin of people and who created people also known as religion. The earliest evidence of
religion was 300,000 years ago. It was speculated that a ritual burial site that was found from
300,000 years ago was due to religion (Wise Geek, 2014). Two of the oldest religions are
Shamanism, and Animism. Some of the oldest religions are still practiced today.

Regardless of her opinion, the audiences she reaches out to, take her stand point on what she

Ehrenreich reminds her readers that the minimum paying job isn t enough to provide a decent
house for herself, instead she has been living in a trailer. She reiterates that not only working
conditions of the lower class are a factor to their poverty, but living conditions for the poor aren t
as pleasant as they are for the upper middle class. She follows with another restriction that rises
after a coworker of hers spends too much time at a bar. The employee turns out to be another
woman who is, another trailer home dweller and a mother of three . She provides these details
because the environment that lower class employees live in tends to drive them to getting drunk,
or even into harmful habits for themselves and the people they surround themselves with.
Ehrenreich explains this specific example because it presents how not only one employee is
effected by a wrongdoing, but all of them are. Ehrenreich next moves on to explain that one of
her coworkers was desperate enough to break into one of the storage rooms. This coworker just
so happens to be her friend who lives with a number of other Czech dishwashers. According to
Ehrenreich, he also, cannot sleep until one of them goes off for [their] shift, leaving a vacant bed .
With these living conditions, her friend must have a hard time getting what he needs to survive.
Ehrenreich uses this example to exemplify the meaning of sharing living quarters with so many
other people where supplies are scarce. The only other option the lower class employees have to
provide for themselves is usually stealing, which her friend got caught

Muscles Analysis
All of these muscles are vital to execute a correct push up. Each one sounds complicated, but they
amazingly work well together.
Lowering Phase
Once the push up is completed, the person must precisely lower themselves back down to
a prone position. In this phase, the same muscles are used as discussed in the pushing up
phase, except in the opposite direction.
Stabilizers
The muscles being discussed are needed to help stabilize the body and keep it straight while doing
a push up. The primary muscles being examined are the abdominal muscles. These muscles are
called the rectus abdominis. They are located in the anterior trunk of the midline. This muscle is

Essentially what Hebdige is saying with his statement is that eventually a subcultures generic

subversion diluted pastiches of there former representations.
The validity of this statement is interesting in two ways. Firstly are subcultures subversive qualities
diluted through popularisation? And secondly and perhaps more importantly in terms of more
contemporary subcultural representations; how valid is the statement that what might be

a few sticks of dynamite in the right direction an eruption would have occurred anyway (1993:90).
Punk saw itself as being in direct conflict with the established order it felt had betrayed a generation
as John Fisk highlights the main function of conflict sub cultural groups in his article The Popular

The power domain in within which popular culture works is largely, but not exclusively, that of
semiotic power. One major articulation of this power is the struggle between homogenisation and
difference, or between consensus and conflict (Quoted in Storey, 1994:511)

Playing Guitar Research Paper
It may sound complicated, but with a little time and effort, playing guitar is actually a lot simpler
than it sounds. Playing guitar, like many other instruments, has many different components. You
need to be familiar with a guitar and its parts, and know how to properly hold it before playing. You
also need to know how to really get a good sound out. To build off of your guitarskills, you first
need to know chord shapes, strumming and picking patterns.
Before you can really start to play guitar, you have to be familiar with the parts. There is two
main parts of a guitar. The body and the neck. The body is the hollow base of the guitar with an
opening for the sound to echo in. This is where the strings are played. The neck is an extension
from the body, where the strings extend over the frets. This is where the chords are played. The
frets of the guitar are the raised lines along the neck of the guitar. These are used to... Show more

First you need to hold the guitar against your body with the neck facing left, the body near your
abdomen, and the strings facing forward. For most people, the left hand controls the chords on the
neck of the guitar, and the right hand controls the playing of the strings. The left hand and arm
should go under the neck of the guitar so you can reach all of the strings with the left hand. The
right hang should rest on the top of the body of the guitar with the wrist and hand loosely above
the opening of the body. You should hold your hand and wrist somewhat loose to make strumming
easier. On your left hand, your first four fingers should be curled to the front of the neck of the
guitar and your thumb should stay on the back of the neck. When playing a string, you want to use
the tip of your finger to push down on the string, on the fret you want to play. You want to make
sure that your fingers do not touch any other strings than the ones you are trying to

The Importance Of Expensing R D Expenditure
Some accounting committees and countries prefer expensing the R D expenditure to
capitalization, they concern about the conservatism rule, future economic benefit uncertainty and
avoiding profit manipulated of R D expenditure. However, expensing R D expenditure also
cannot perfectly deal with these problems as they expected. As the rapidly development of
technology, especially in high tech industry, intangible asset take up large number of the overall
assets, whether the firm is successful or not largely relay on these intangible assets, therefore,
simple expensing all R D expenditure is apparently inaccurate. One of the most important factors
of expensing R D expenditure is the uncertainty of R D. The Australian accounting profession s
SAC 4 (1992) refers assets as future economic benefits, which controlled by the entity as result of
past transactions or other past events. And the asset should be recorded in the statement of
financial position when the expenditure of the asset can be measured reliably and the future
economic benefit generates from the asset is highly likely backflow to the company. However, it
is impossible of a company to accurately measure how possibility of a firm can have future
economic benefit generated by the asset. Moreover, the loose concept of control of an asset that is
the capacity of the entity to benefit from the asset in the pursuit of the entity s objectives and to
deny or regulate the access of others to that benefit. (Walker and

Accurate Bookkeeping
In a formal probate process, accurate bookkeeping is crucial. As an executor, you must provide a
final accounting of the estate and have it approved by all the beneficiaries in order to close the
estate. Since, in some states, the formal probate process can take a year or more to close an estate,
sloppy bookkeepingcan hold up the final accounting stage if a discrepancy occurs. Therefore, to
avoid holdups, you must develop a reliable bookkeeping system.
How to Set Up an Accurate Bookkeeping System
Develop a bookkeeping system that makes sense to you and use technology, if possible. There are
no rules in how to set up a bookkeeping system but make sure the bookkeeping system you create
has the following components:
Track the transactions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, keep an eye out for transactions that are combined. Here are a couple common
transactions that could trip up any bookkeeping system:
A sale of a home. Usually, the proceeds you receive from a sale of a home has the expenses of the
sale deducted from the check. It s perfectly normal to deposit that check into the estate account
without recording the expenses. So, the income side of the transaction will be correct, but you will
be missing expenses that will cause a discrepancy in the final accounting. Make sure you enter the
expenses that were deducted from the proceeds of the sale into the manual record and the
automated record.
Completing a deposit of multiple checks on one deposit slip. When you deposit multiple checks
on one deposit slip you will receive a receipt for the total of all those checks. In the final
accounting, each type of income is reported separately. So, if you deposit multiple checks
consisting of a rent check, dividend check, and a check you received from closing an account,
that s three separate categories of income in the final accounting. You must record each check
separately either in your journal or the manual record so you will have a reference as to what
income type you received for each check. This will avoid confusion in the final

Life Is Precious In Human Life
Life is a precious gift from God. It is precious because He created it and declares it so in
His Word. It is meant not only to be enjoyed, but also respected. Life is not flippant and is not in
our hands or under our authority to bring into or take out of existence. That alone is God s power
and His authority. Mass shootings and terrorist attacks are an abomination to God because it shows
people taking God s role and authority and applying it to their own wicked, fallen, and human
selves. They ignore and slight God s deity and supreme authority by deciding for themselves who
lives and who dies. Life is not theirs to take. Human life is sacred, it is so precious because
mankind is made in the image of God and bears His image here on earth.
Violation of the sanctity of human life is not only a recent or modern issue. It goes way back to
the dawn of creation with Adam and Eve s first generation. In Genesis 4:8 10 the Bibles tells of
Cain rising up against Abel, his brother, and killing him. Cain s initial sin wasn t murder.
The root of that sin was disobedience then jealousy and bitterness which was what led to the
murder of Abel. God most definitely did not take this sin lightly. He said in verse 10 ...the voice
of thy brother s blood crieth unto me from the ground . God was grieved at Abel s death and at the
disrespect of Cain taking God s matters, that is, life and death, into his own feeble and foolish
hands. Ultimately, sin starts in the heart. Just like Cain, people today

all water withdrawals would cease. The EBF should be legally enforceable and all water permits
issued by the Alberta Government at any one time should be accountable to meet that EBF. In the
interim, the low flow threshold for the lower Athabasca River should be at least 100 m3/s.
Define sustainable groundwater yield

Funding Higher Education For Universities
Introduction In the world of higher education today, many universities are facing tight budgets.
Funding higher education has become a major issue for institutions across the nation for various
reasons. University endowments are not what they use to be before the financial crisis in 2008
(Weisbrod Asch, 2010). State appropriations to universities are down and are not as much as they
once were in the past. With a decline in state appropriations, public institutions have been forced to
rely more on tuition revenue. Universities are now competing more than ever with each other to get
students to attend their institution so that they can receive their tuition revenue. As tuition
increases, there becomes an increase for a need of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Separately we are weak, but together we are strong. Ultimately, due to a plethora of reasons, higher
education funding has become difficult and resulted in higher tuition for students and to combat
this issue, university and business partnerships need to be created and become a major goal which
will yield benefits for both parties involved.
University Funding Issues Funding colleges and universities has become a crisis for the higher
education system in America. The higher education funding issue is not caused by one issue but
rather multiple issues like endowment losses, falling investments, declining donations, declining
state appropriations, and increased student financial aid which leads to a decreased tuition revenue
(Weisbrod Asch, 2010). Some of these funding issues create other funding issues like an increase in
tuition revenue that creates an increase in student financial aid and then decreases the tuition
revenue resulting in lower funds for the institution. Since the economic downturn in 2007 and 2008
and even before then, there has been a decline in state appropriations to public colleges and
universities (Weisbrod Asch, 2010). Colleges and universities believe that lawmakers have lost faith
and do not believe in them, which have resulted in the significant and constant loss of state
appropriations to higher education (Longanecker, 2006).

Homosexuals Right to Marriage Essay
Since the beginning of time, our country has struggled with equal rights issues in one way or
another. Whether those issues were women s rights, segregation of races, or more currently the
equal rights of those whose sexual orientation is different from what is considered to be normal
by the vast majority of the population. However, the reality is that all people deserve to be
treated equally. This country was founded on the idea of individuals being equal and because of
this we should all, who call this great nation home have the same rights. I believe it is our job as a

Due to this, federal benefits such as social security retirement and survivors benefits, along with
federal tax breaks for married couples do not apply to the homosexual community. They may be
refused health insurance under their partners insurance solely, based on the fact that they are not
legally married. However, this country is constantly consumed with healthcare related issues and
people not being covered by health insurance, though it would seem in some cases the federal
government is to blame for that. Geoffrey R. Stone states the Supreme Court has long recognized
that the government can never lawfully treat one group of people worse than others because the
majority deems that group immoral, depraved, unworthy or sinful according to God s principles. If
this were so then marriage would have to re defined to exclude other immoral unions, such as,
convicted murders, child molesters, rapist, and adulterers. These people shouldn t be able to marry
either or receive benefits under federal law. Other issues that plague the homosexual community
are questions on the validity of their relationships. Research shows that many gay men and lesbian
women want or have a committed relationship. According to the American Psychological
Association; 40% to 60% of gay men and between 45% and 80% of lesbians are currently involved
in a same sex romantic relationship, and that out of the 5.5 million couples in 2003, that were

The Is The Best For The Human Condition
Transhumanism For years, scientists and transhumanists have conceptualized and cultivated ways
and processes which they believe are beneficial to human life. Transhumanists want the best for the
human condition by improvements of medical technology, economics, medicine, culture, and
mental capacities. There are copious amounts of prototypes and ideas that are currently pushing the
movement forward and giving hope to those involved. Though naysayers hold the opinion that
transhumanismwill separate humans into two or more distinct species, that is not the intended goal.
In fact, the intentions are to bring us together, rid us of the illness and disease that riddle the human
body, and create a near perfect world. Nick Bostrom, a professor of philosophy at the University of
Oxford and an outspoken member of the transhumanist movement, introduces an approach that very
well summarizes the ambition of the research of transhumanism, ...to radically extend increased
funding for healthy lifespan and favor the development of medical and technological means to
improve memory, concentration, and other human capacities. (Bostrom 202 214). Some argue that
transhumanists are overstepping their moral and ethical boundaries by assuming the role of a
higher power. In any case, the ambitions of transhumanists are to create a better world, one without
the stressors we experience today. Though the intent of transhumanism is positive, there is a
downside. Scientists and transhumanists main

This story is entirely linked by Trachi, because if you were to remove this central figure, there
would be no relation between these events. Trachi s existence is relied on to tell the story. He is
the reason Levi spends much of this story detailing the history of Centaurs. Then Trachi links us
to the person speaking. This story is a string of episodes all linked by Trachi, they are not linked
by outside actions or causes. For example, the way that we get from the blacksmith to the
veterinarian or the story of the great flood to the first centaur birth is Trachi. These moments are
linked by this one person. However this story is not merely episodic, there is more to the story.
Upon picking apart each individual episode, it becomes clear that these single events contain a
more unified action. One example is the episode about the great flood. Once you pick apart this
moment we can see how each episode contains a unified action. This instance begins by saying
that an ark was built because a great flood was coming. Since everything died in the flood, the
deceased formed a fertile mud around the earth, and this caused a great ecstasy where life and love
sprung forth. This meant that new species could arise, like the centaur. By sectioning off each
episode, the speaker is able to craft similar motifs within them. For example, the motif within this

When Google began, like any other company, management was very important. It was the baby of
Larry Page and Sergey Brin who were both students at Stanford during this time. The two had a
unique perspective on global information. Page and Brin rarely did things the conventional way
but there company was started on a basic structure. Google had added two new positions from
2004 but even those additional positions aren t the major catalysts of Google s managerial success
(Stross, 2008).
Page, in his first major reorganization since taking the reins as CEO earlier this week, placed
executives leading the groups directly under his supervision, eliminating management layers
thought to slow product development, according to sources familiar with the situation (Oreskovic.
A 2011). By bringing Gen Y ers into top management teams may provide the knowledge and
energy to speed up the renewal of American business leadership and American business. For
startups, we already bring in adult supervision to complement the skills and knowledge of
entrepreneurial kid techies. For the thousands of big companies lumbering along the 21st century,
it s time to bring the little fockers into shared power. At the moment, the world is just too complex
for Boomer CEOs. We need B Y team leadership. We need to follow the standard that Google has
put forth.

Christians, there is only one way to enter heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. This can be
seen in the quote: Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV). We are to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and
His courts with praise, just like how the Israelites would have when coming to sacrifice; Enter his
gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! (Psalms

Emancipation and Apprenticeship
Emancipation and Apprenticeship
Pre 18th Century Attitudes to Slavery Like other people of the time, Europeans believed that the
enslavement of another person was justifiable as long as a reasonable explanation could have
being given for the enslavement. In Africa itself, slavery was acceptable and people were taken
as slaves in three ways: as prisoners in war, as a punishment for a crime and as a payment for debt.
An English philosopher, John Locke stated that slavery is only justifiable when a person was then
taken captive as a prisoner of war e.g.: in crusades. The Spanish questioned whether slavery was
right but they still practiced it. They argued that slavery although wrong was necessary in order to
develop their empire and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first the WII were mainly concerned with establishing trade with North American colonist.
However, in the 18th century they began focusing on resisting the Abolition Movement in
Parliament. In 1766, they were only made up of 40 members in the House of Lords but by 1780
they had 50 members. In order to delay emancipation, the parliamentary members of the WII
enacted 2 laws: Amelioration proposals and Apprenticeship system. These policies however failed
largely due to the fact that more abolitionists were becoming MP s; particularly in the House of
Commons also public opinion was turning against the WII due to the fact that they were
persecuting non conformist missionaries. Despite their loss however to the abolitionist the WII
were still able to delay emancipation for 50 years and to gain 20,000,000 in compensation for the
loss of their slaves (when emancipation came)
Humanitarians Humanitarians were people who believed in improving the conditions in which
people live. In the 18th century, they belonged to many professions such as being politicians,
writers and industrialists. They believed that slavery was unnecessary and evil and that it violated
the true natural state of man Freedom e.g: such humanitarians were

Real Estate Research Process
Introduction
Every individual whether they are aware of it or not, base their decision making on some form of
statistical data. Simple everyday decisions are made through rationalizing a problem or opportunity,
forming a hypothesis, analyzing information, and determining a decision based on the gathered
information. For the purpose of practicality, Team A has chosen real estatemarket data gathered
from the website for the Statistical Techniques in Business and Economics (2008) textbook to
formulate and define a chosen problem, attempt to delineate the purpose of the research into the
variables that affect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of the real estate data, the variables are the price, size, and the number of bedrooms in a
residence. These variables have physical measurements that can be easily verified.
Measurement Scale for Each Variable Accordingly, to test the hypothesis, the variables that will
be analyzed will be the selling price of the house, the square footage size of the house, and the
number of bedrooms of the house. These are the intervals encompassed in Team A s hypothesis.
However, Team A will also measure other variables connected to outcomes not stated in the
hypothesis, such location (for instance distance and time from house to center of town) and
desirable amenities. To test the above mentioned variables Team A will need to select specific
measurement scales for them. The four types of measurement scales are nominal, ordinal,
interval, and ratio. The depth of sophistication increases as one moves from the nominal scale to
the ratio scale. In other words, the ratio and the interval scales offer more detailed information on
variables than do the ordinal and the nominal scales. That is to say, as one moves from the
nominal scale to the ratio scale, one moves from the general to the more specific, and the more
specific information a scale yields, the more powerful it is. The more powerful scales, provide the
possibility of performing in depth, meaningful analysis so that more

1.56. Discuss the agency problem in detail.
An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The
agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their
own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in
place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead
engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to
mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly
tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the
board of directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional
investors; the threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management
team; or the threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low
chance of success or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems
is the threat of takeover by another firm. If the

The Glass Menagerie And Death Of A Salesman Analysis
The Glass Menagerie was a well written novel that I enjoyed because of all the different aspects
of the characters lives and views of things. For example Laura an older single mother who wants
the best for her two grown children Laura who is 23 years old and Tom who is the older brother.
There father Mr. Wingfield abandoned them for long distance traveling and never came back so
Laurais taking care of them on her own. Her daughter Laura is shy and quiet girl who has a
crippled leg and cannot work because of it and her oldest son Tom is just like his father and wants
to get out of Chicago and travel but he works for a factory to provide for his family. So that is the
situation in the novel. The novel had little hints now and then about what was going to happen
like from the characters talking, the subtitles, and the dramatic music that played throughout the
play, so it was really easy to understand. The reason I chose this novel was because it was about a
play and because it was one of the shortest books. The Glass Menagerie reminded me of another
novel about a play called Death of a Salesman that I read from my last book project just like this
one in ninth grade. In a way both novels The Glass Menagerie and Death of a Salesman are very
similar because both families in the novels, the Wingfield family and the Loman family have the
same difficulties and situations like having no money, job difficulties, stressful lives, running away
from fears and worries, and husbands

A similar and also popular game is softball. It was an Olympic sport from 1996 to 2008. Like

Knee Jerk Reflex
When you hit the patella tendon a kick reflex is produced which is also known as the knee jerk
(knee reflex). The main reason why hitting the patella tendon results in muscle contraction is so
that the muscle is protected from unwanted harm such as being yanked vigorously or hyper
extended. The muscle group that contracts in this reflex is the quadriceps muscles, so when a muscle
spindle is stretched an impulse is instantly sent to the human s spinal cord and a rapid response to
contract the specific muscle is admitted. Due to the impulse not having to travel all the way to the
brain only up the spinal cord and back this results in a very rapid reflex, only taking about 1 2
milliseconds to occur (Marieb ; Hoehn;, 2010). When the patella is... Show more content on

The impulse is also instantly received to contract the muscle. The knee jerk is a reflex arc, this is a
nerve pathway that is highly involved in a reflex action, also including a sensory nerve and
motor nerve with a synapse in between Just like action potential propagation the impulse
conduction only travels in one direction. The receptors are the starting point of the dendrites of
the sensory neurons, the impulse conduction regularly starts in the receptors (Patton; Thibodeau;,
2016). The sensory receptors that are in the knee jerk is located in the quadriceps muscles.
During the knee reflex only the motor and sensory neurons are involved. The nerve which is

The Pros And Cons Of Air Traffic Control
Since the very beginning of air travel, the Federal Aviation Administration s National Air Traffic
Control (ATC) system has kept passengers safe and moved people and goods with unmatched
efficiency, and it has continually evolved to meet the needs of the aviation industry. However,
many have sought to hand over control of the ATC system to a private entity, separate from the
FAA, dominated by the airlines, and unaccountable to the public. The latest of these effort comes
in the form of a renewed push endorsed by President Donald Trump, in a misguided attempt to
Make Air Travel Great Again. What would come with private ATC would be just the opposite:
rising costs passed on to airlinepassengers and general aviationoperations, and funds shifted from
local general aviation (GA) airports to the nation s hub airports, and unfair access to the nation s
skies favoring the airlines and leaving GA behind. Since the invention of flight, the sky over
America have been free for anyone to use, but this may no longer be the case. The costs to the
aviation industry will be staggering. Pilots, controllers, and other aviation professionals have not
accepted a private ATC system in the past and must resist it again for the love of flying.
Privatization of government services and agencies has long been a proposed solution to rising costs,
delayed updates, and inconsistent budgets that federal agencies currently have to deal with. Air
Traffic Control is no exception. Rep. Bill Shuster

  • 3. On My Way With Sesame Street My Abc s Twenty five years, a quarter of a century! What changes have been made in children s books throughout these years? The first book I chose was On My Way With Sesame Street: My ABC s which was written in the year of 1989. Twenty five years later, the second book I chose is called Disney Frozen: Forever Sisters, was written. Both of these books show the changes made in the world throughout these past years. Major changes in children s literature have been shown throughout these years. There was much more value to the older book that I used compared to the newer book. The older book included more of a story with vibrant colors. Also, the older book was more educational compared to the newer book. The older book presented the alphabet in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Manifest functions are those recognized and intended consequences that people observe or expect in a social pattern or social institution. In the first book, On My Way With Sesame Street:My ABC s, the main manifest function was to teach children the alphabet. The multiple sets of the alphabet, along with the different vocabulary, help to expand the vocabulary that the children develop. Along, with sentences describing the words, there are pictures demonstrating them. The alphabet demonstrated by Grover uses his own body and a few props to demonstrate the shapes of the letters. There is even an alphabet of trash done by Oscar the Grouch. Another manifest function would be that this book is a tool to teach children how to read. This book teaches children that there is more than one way to look at the alphabet, and that it can be fun to learn. The latent functions are those unrecognized consequences. When adults read this book to their children, the children will have to listen to comprehend what they are being read. The children will also be taught how to sit still to be able to see the book. Another latent function is that they will be taught other activities throughout this book like colors, shapes, and spelling. In the second book, Disney Frozen: Forever Sisters, a manifest function would be about how this book is a fairytale because Elsa has the powers of snow and ice. Love and hate relationships between siblings is shown throughout this book because Anna and Elsa fought and Elsa coronation, which caused Elsa to set off her powers, and caused her to run away, but she was hunted. She was almost killed until Anna saved her, and in the end everyone was happy. A manifest function, is that this book teaches children about love, and how to be able to express love. A major latent function is about body image. The girls in the book are very tiny which can cause girls to feel that they should look like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Acquisition, Development And Use Of Language The acquisition, development and use of language is universal. It is pivotal in being able to communicate between others and is seen and heard in all cultures and countries. The notion that language is seen is undeniable, for example; language is seen in printed format such as advertisements, books, letters and lyrics. Printed languagecomprises of numbers, letters, symbols and pictures and can together or separately tell a story or communicate a message. Furthermore, language is observed through gestures, body language, dance, moving images and sign language. Audible language consists of spoken words; singing, whistling, morse code, music and movies. All modes of language assist in the delivery of meaningful information (Anstey Bull, 2006). Language is extremely diverse, with over 7,097 known languages spoken throughout the world. English is spoken by approximately 340 million people and is one of the world s most common languages (SIL International, 2016). Over 230 countries are represented, 300 languages spoken and more than 100 religions practiced in Australia alone (Department of Immigration and Citizenship, 2008). Throughout the world, there will be standardised forms of each language, which differ in grammar and pronunciation from language that may be used in the home or other social settings. Standard language is commonly used in government and educational discourses. This report will endeavour to display how the above mentioned factors of language play a role in ... • 5. Antony Flew on Christian Life People always tend to give high attention to individuals who turned their backs on their once held beliefs to argue that (Christian) faith is unreasonable and without real substance. Rationality seems to be the source of every argument for the non existence of God, and is often understood as inherently opposing to faith. However, the story of Antony Flew is one that atheists can and should not discard, as he experienced something very different. Born into a Christian family Flew grew up in the church and was exposed to Christian beliefs and customs. He never really found a personal connection to Christianity and converted to Atheism, but after decades of arguing the non existence of God, he came to the conclusion that there is no other possibility than the validity of the existence of God. This process is documented in There is a God. Antony Flew is considered one of the, some might argue the most important, proponents of atheism in the 20th century and his works made major contributions to the argumentation of atheism. The author begins his personal story, some might call it testimony, with explaining the process of becoming an atheist in the first place, before rejecting it after all these years. Born as the son of a Methodist minister and preacher, Flew went to a Christian school, and was, as he calls himself, a committed and conscientious, if unenthusiastic, Christian (p.10). He did not feel a personal connection to God and was not interested in any kind of worship. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The state within the novel was taking control of the minds of the youth, using propaganda and a narrow world view to shape their young, impressionable morality. Both Nazi Germany and the state in Youth Without God were training children to be warriors. They saw decency and goodness as weaknesses to be rooted out, but where did this lead them? We are all familiar with the end of World War II and the fate of Adolf Hitler. However, Horvath had no idea the Third Reich was doomed. He wrote this novel because he it was clear to him that the complete power held by the state would lead to corruption and violence. Ironically, Horvath died in 1939 before he could behold the devastation by the Nazi regime that his novel had predicted. Instead, he left behind a brilliant piece of work which we can use to analyze the role power and violence can have on a state and its children. The concepts of power and violence are shown in Youth Without God through the experiences of a teacher grappling with the immoral mindset of his pupils and his opinion of God as a terrible being. The power, in this novel, is held by the state. They control the education of young children by using propaganda and summer training programs to prepare them to be soldiers. • 15. Nuclear Weapons Are The Most Deadly Nuclear weapons are the most deadly, destructive, and powerful form of technology that the world has ever created. Officially, only 9 states out of 196 in the international arena have possession of them. Although nuclear weapons are being eliminated by states, they still hold a significant value for nations in the IR arena with a nuclear annihilation capacity. States within the international community that own nuclear arsenals are automatically feared and respected because of the status symbol they hold. Conversely, this prestige, power, and influence can also back fire on states and become a disadvantage. States can lose power in the international community by causing tensions and dividing themselves between states who don t have these nuclear advantages. France is one country in particular that resembles a superpower with nuclear capability. France has gained power in the International community through NATO due to their possession of nuclear weapons. Overall, nuclear weapons still represent a great power in the International Arena today and will continue holding that power. The ability to produce and launch dangerous, nuclear weapons help states earn a negotiation power in the international community because nuclear power is equated to political power. A state that owns nuclear weapons is feared, respected, and seen as a country that nobody wants to wage a war with, because of the threat of nuclear annihilation. It is one of the worst things a mother could do to leave her children without a caretaker, even if she was not much of one to begin with. She reiterates that not only working conditions of the lower class are a factor to their poverty, but living conditions for the poor aren t as pleasant as they are for the upper middle class. She follows with another restriction that rises after a coworker of hers spends too much time at a bar. The employee turns out to be another woman who is, another trailer home dweller and a mother of three . She provides these details because the environment that lower class employees live in tends to drive them to getting drunk, or even into harmful habits for themselves and the people they surround themselves with. Ehrenreich explains this specific example because it presents how not only one employee is effected by a wrongdoing, but all of them are. Ehrenreich next moves on to explain that one of her coworkers was desperate enough to break into one of the storage rooms. This coworker just so happens to be her friend who lives with a number of other Czech dishwashers. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV). We are to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, just like how the Israelites would have when coming to sacrifice; Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! (Psalms 100:4 ESV). Coincidentally, the gate was thirty feet wide, and Jesuswas thirty years old when he started his ministry. These variables have physical measurements that can be easily verified. Measurement Scale for Each Variable Accordingly, to test the hypothesis, the variables that will be analyzed will be the selling price of the house, the square footage size of the house, and the number of bedrooms of the house. These are the intervals encompassed in Team A s hypothesis. However, Team A will also measure other variables connected to outcomes not stated in the hypothesis, such location (for instance distance and time from house to center of town) and desirable amenities. To test the above mentioned variables Team A will need to select specific measurement scales for them. The four types of measurement scales are nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. The depth of sophistication increases as one moves from the nominal scale to the ratio scale. In other words, the ratio and the interval scales offer more detailed information on variables than do the ordinal and the nominal scales. An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the board of directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional investors; the threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management team; or the threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low chance of success or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems is the threat of takeover by another firm. If the ... The Glass Menagerie And Death Of A Salesman Analysis The Glass Menagerie was a well written novel that I enjoyed because of all the different aspects of the characters lives and views of things. For example Laura an older single mother who wants the best for her two grown children Laura who is 23 years old and Tom who is the older brother. There father Mr. Wingfield abandoned them for long distance traveling and never came back so Laurais taking care of them on her own. Her daughter Laura is shy and quiet girl who has a crippled leg and cannot work because of it and her oldest son Tom is just like his father and wants to get out of Chicago and travel but he works for a factory to provide for his family. So that is the situation in the novel. The novel had little hints now and then about what was going to happen like from the characters talking, the subtitles, and the dramatic music that played throughout the play, so it was really easy to understand. The reason I chose this novel was because it was about a play and because it was one of the shortest books. The Glass Menagerie reminded me of another novel about a play called Death of a Salesman that I read from my last book project just like this one in ninth grade. In a way both novels The Glass Menagerie and Death of a Salesman are very similar because both families in the novels, the Wingfield family and the Loman family have the same difficulties and situations like having no money, job difficulties, stressful lives, running away from fears and worries, and husbands ... The main reason why hitting the patella tendon results in muscle contraction is so that the muscle is protected from unwanted harm such as being yanked vigorously or hyper extended. The muscle group that contracts in this reflex is the quadriceps muscles, so when a muscle spindle is stretched an impulse is instantly sent to the human s spinal cord and a rapid response to contract the specific muscle is admitted. Due to the impulse not having to travel all the way to the brain only up the spinal cord and back this results in a very rapid reflex, only taking about 1 2 milliseconds to occur (Marieb ; Hoehn;, 2010). The Pros And Cons Of Air Traffic Control Since the very beginning of air travel, the Federal Aviation Administration s National Air Traffic Control (ATC) system has kept passengers safe and moved people and goods with unmatched efficiency, and it has continually evolved to meet the needs of the aviation industry. However, many have sought to hand over control of the ATC system to a private entity, separate from the FAA, dominated by the airlines, and unaccountable to the public. The latest of these effort comes in the form of a renewed push endorsed by President Donald Trump, in a misguided attempt to Make Air Travel Great Again. What would come with private ATC would be just the opposite: rising costs passed on to airlinepassengers and general aviationoperations, and funds shifted from local general aviation (GA) airports to the nation s hub airports, and unfair access to the nation s skies favoring the airlines and leaving GA behind. Since the invention of flight, the sky over America have been free for anyone to use, but this may no longer be the case. The costs to the aviation industry will be staggering. Pilots, controllers, and other aviation professionals have not accepted a private ATC system in the past and must resist it again for the love of flying.
