This paper examines knowledge management within communities of practice (CoPs) and the challenges of implementing effective learning and technological services in both public and private organizations. It highlights the significance of collaboration and participatory design in addressing the specific needs of CoPs, which include formalizing tacit knowledge, resource sharing, and enhancing interactions among members. By exploring the Palette project, the paper investigates the technological solutions that can support these needs through tools for information sharing, knowledge reification, and collaborative learning.
