The document discusses the readiness of teacher education institutions in the Philippines for Education 4.0. It finds that administrators and faculty members perceive themselves as ready in terms of their skills in selecting and integrating digital resources for teaching and learning, as they receive capacity building through seminars and conferences on technological literacy. However, they are not skilled in using learning management systems, online class modalities, augmented reality, robotics, or 3D printing, which may be due to a lack of digital infrastructure and virtual laboratories. Respondents also disagreed that the institutions are ready in terms of research programs and initiatives for Education 4.0. The study thus concludes that institutions need to rethink infrastructure planning, strengthen research, and improve teacher training capabilities to

Many institutions of Higher Education and Corporate Training Institutes are resorting to e-Learning
as a means of solving authentic learning and performance problems, while other institutions are hopping
onto the bandwagon simply because they do not want to be left behind. Success is crucial because an
unsuccessful effort to implement e-Learning will be clearly reflected in terms of the return of investment.
One of the most crucial prerequisites for successful implementation of e-Learning is the need for careful

The article investigates computer based training during the COVID 19 pandemic in South Africa's Institutions of Higher Learning, as well as assess the feasibility of Computer Based Learning in the post COVID era. The data was gathered through the use of desk top research by looking at how various South African university institutions have made CBT an important learning and teaching tool when it comes to copying with the politics that came about with lockdowns such as the closure of schools as a way to manage the spread of the pandemic. The study reveals that, the emergent appearance of the COVID 19 pandemic in South Africa, saw an increased usage of computers and mobile phones as an alternative learning tool which could eventually replace face to face learning. It is however revealed that, the success of computer based training and learning heavily relies on efficiency and reliability of computer infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity as well as knowledge of computer technology by instructors and learners. The research is however, limited to the confines and experiences of South African educators and learners and concludes by giving recommendations on how these challenges can be solved. Abdul Syahid
Implementing Project-Based Learning with Video Creation in Shipping English t...sabaribmt
Education 4.0 comes to existence in response to the needs of Industrial Revolution 4.0 where humans and technology are aligned to enable new possibilities for learning. It offers new trends in learning which can take place without boundaries. Thus, educators need to adapt to changes in instructional designs, for example, by involving students in project-based learning and integrating the use of digital tools and online platforms in learning. Concerning this issue, this study aimed to examine the implementation of project-based learning with video creation in Shipping English. It involved 40 cadets from Maritime Transport Management Program who were assigned to complete a video project in groups about basic communication in port and shipping contexts. The videos were then uploaded by the cadets in Edmodo for further evaluation. The data were collected through observations and interviews during the stages of project completion. Findings from this study showed that this project-based learning was effectively implemented. This project provided the cadets with meaningful and engaging hands-on learning through their personal involvement in the project completion. After completing the project, the cadets perceived that their confidence in English language learning increased. They also gradually developed digital literacy skills as well as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking (known as 4Cs of 21st century skills) that they can use further to embrace this highly competitive and technologically transformed era

This study purposes to determine the impact of Education Management Information System variables such as system efficiency, service efficiency, information efficiency, and technical efficiency on the educational system in UNRWA schools in Lebanon. The authors employed an analytical descriptive approach by creating a questionnaire in Google Forms and disseminating it to the study sample participants via the WhatsApp application for data collection. The survey includes 1440 professional female and male teachers who demonstrated expertise in the 2022 academic year. However, the author only collected 128 questionnaires from teachers, which were studied and analyzed by the SPSS application. The findings of this analysis show that teachers have a good level of awareness of the factors of the information management system in general. The findings also revealed a statistically significant association between education information management system parameters and educational system development. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
