a) distinguish affirmation and negation about a topic through debate;
b) express opinion through debate; and
c) appreciate the lesson by actively participating with the activities

After the activity, the following questions will be asked:
a) How many of you like to play word search?
b) Why do you like to play word search and your classmate don’t?
c) Do you agree with his opinion?

4. Application
a) Activity: Debate
- Let the students find their own group with three
members
- Let the group write their names on a ¼ sheet of paper
- The teacher will pick the group to debate
- The group will play rock, paper, scissors to determine
the affirmative and negative side of the picked topic
- The members will determine the first, second, and third
speaker of their side
- The first group to talk is the affirmative side
- Next is the negative side
- The first speaker of the group will state their stand
about the topic. The second speaker will give reasons
why. And the last member will also give reasons and
then conclude
- A group will be assigned to give comments about the
debate of the two groups and then tell who they think
will win
- The rest of the class will be the judges or adjudicators.
After the debate, they will vote for the group they think
won
